Location, Room size and facilities in the room, Comfy bed, Very helpful and friendly staff. Lots of eateries in easy walking distance of the motel. ATM within easy walking distance from the motel. Supermarket 2 minutes by car or 10 minutes walk.

We stayed for 5 days, the motel has no laundry facilities. Our room was serviced everyday, emptied the rubbish bin and replaced towels, never made our bed, never changed our bedding. Walls are quite thin so if you have noisy neighbours you will hear them.

It is well situated, not right in the centre, however we were able to walk into town,20 mins. Despite the age, it was very well presented and the staff were wonderful. Good parking and easy to get in and out.

The kitchen was limited. One pot, one frying, plus a bowl.otherwise had sufficient plates, etc, for 4 people. We could not work out how to use the hotplate, but we were fine with our salads and cold meat.

Room including bathroom was good for the price. Nothing looked too old and need of work. I was very comfortable. Nice to have room serviced every day even though I was only staying 2 nights. Customer service was friendly.

The water pressure in the shower was quite low but really not that bad. The parking was a bit of a squeeze but okay for me as I had a smaller car. Might be hard for larger cars/4WDs. Nothing was particularly bad at all.

A really great location with the hockey turf within easy walking distance and the local tavern just across the road. The owners were super friendly and helpful and represented Whangarei so well. It was nice to have fresh towels and tea, coffee and milk replaced each day. It is an older motel which is reflected in the reasonable price but is decorated in an up to date fashion and is very clean. The sheets were on the bed were top quality and the heat pump kept us cosey and warm. There were lots of TV channels too. We really enjoyed our visit and would certainly stay at the Kensington Motel again.

Motel unit ( 2 bedroom ) was vey clean and well presented . The bed was comfortable and the location ,next to a small shopping complex was good. Excellent Thai restaurant ( recommended by owner ) close by with other food outlets handy . Easy 10min drive to main Whangarei basin.

Soap And makeup flannel on high shelf in bathroom didnt find until morning we were leaving . would have been better placed by basin /ps I'm not short ! Perhaps a couple of colourful cushions on lounge suite would lift the black ,grey ,white decor and make the main area more welcoming

We arrived early in the hope that we could check in as my husband needed wifi for a work call. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating to our request. Big comfy bed. Clean bathroom. Small kitchenette suitable for a one night stay. Would stay again.

Located outside the city area. Single level motel so car engines start up early outside the room.

Although we booked for 4 people, it was assumed they would share the queen bed which was actually for 4 x men so we had to pay extra on the 'bargain' I got online. It was assumed that there was a couple amongst those staying over, which wasn't the case. Maybe, look at the wording of what is required when people make a booking?

Clean and tidy unit, friendly staff, comfy bed.

Being a smoker I didn't like being stuck outside in the driveway with no shelter when it rained. We have stayed here many, many times before to watch our grandchildren's weekend sport, and smoking was allowed outside your room at the tables under shelter. I consider myself to be a respectful smoker and wouldn't smoke if others were around or windows open so because of this would only stay again as the last resort.

Good value, slightly out of city centre, next to main road, but had no issues with noise good choice of food and restaurant options close by , rooms clean and basic essentials well supplied. Staff were very friendly and helpful

WiFi was terrible. very slow when it worked, ended up using my own phone data to book the next days hotel

Very friendly staff. Clean room. GREAT LOCATION. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Living room has the big bed and aircon. Good water pressure in shower. Would recommend for a quick stop over.

Bed and pillows are both a bit too firm for me. Shower room is small and the bathroom is very narrow and tiny. 😂I’m a big big girl and it kinda made me feel claustrophobic.
