I loved how old-school it was. The room was clean and comfortable - I recently stayed at one of the other large, famous Nob Hill hotels and the University Club room was very similar. The restaurant was a good experience too; the wait staff was excellent. In and out was tremendously easy. Overall, this was a good experience and excellent value.

The building’s fine points (e.g., carpeting) are a little tired and could be refreshed, but I wouldn’t want to change the character of this beautifully traditional building.

The Continental breakfast was complete and the offerings excellent. Great coffee!—a must for any club! Loved the « old school » club ambiance and furnishings. The prints on the walls of my room featured a scene from Oxford(where I spent some time in my education)! The room was nicely appointed with very(!) comfortable bedding, perfect linens and every amenity necessary for a comfortable stay. I look forward to returning if the opportunity for an open room presents itself.

Breakfast was OK although the slices of bread were rather thick for my liking; the coffee cups and dishes were rather small so would have preferred a larger size for my drink and space to put more than one item of food upon. One big problem - there were no napkins of any sort available; very odd for the UC not to provide them for a meal.

It’s not far from everything and right across a cable car stop. The facility is clean even if some of the furnitures were outdated; I think it gave it a character lol. The breakfast was decent

My room was on the ground floor and I could hear the delivery trucks or the noise in the athletic club next door. I could hear the cable car bells but that didn’t really bother me as much as those trucks and people from the athletic club lol

Breakfast was limited Suggestions: Café au laut, Cappuccino, Café Latte Fresh fruit salad, eggs boiled, fried, scrambled, selection of cheese, ham, salmon, smoked meet, roast beef, vegetarian spreads, sour dough bread, bagels, French toast, waffles, freshly squeezed orange juice, dates, mueslis, home made jams.

Access to the exclusive private members' club. Very peaceful and quiet. Very clean room with luxury feel furnishings and coffee machine. Despite no safety deposit box in the rooms, concierge gave access to a front of house safe.

Breakfast was poor quality and largely unhealthy. No remote for the TV in the room. Constant rumble and ding ding from the Tram system. Sunday / Monday slightly soulless as so empty.

Location. DR. Staff. Athletic facilities. Staff. Truly excellent. Enjoyed the press club memorabilia. Breakfast with a light Buffett is a nice touch

My room was on the first floor near the door to the rooms. I worried party folks would keep me up. One night they did but other nights were not a problem. Elevator could really use a fresh coat of paint. It is for many the first real impression of the club.

Historic property with a superb location for our weekend in SF. Our room was a suite which was very comfortable and even had a view of the Transamerica Pyramid.

No refrigerator in the room, no ice machine. But these were minor inconveniences and not to be expected in the historic building.

Location was great, price was reasonable and if your into historical/old timey vibes this place is for you. The facilities are NOT modern but we didn't go to SF to hang out at the hotel all day...

The bar isn't open on the weekends, and there's no vent fans in the bathrooms.

The staff were wonderful! Good value- the room was comfortable. The view from the 4th floor lounge was lovely, and very nice from the 3rd floor breakfast room.

Breakfast was skimpy if you weren't there at 7:30. Probably short-staffed. The Internet went out out last day, which was very inconvenient.
