April 2024

We picked a large suite for the extra room and were please with the huge room. My wife enjoyed the tub to soak in at night. Location is very convenient to train station and local attractions. Breakfast selection was nice and plentiful.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was not working for the 3 days we were there. The room got uncomfortably warm and the windows do not open (they are nailed shut for safety reasons I assume). I checked with the front desk and they said they were “hoping” an electrician would come “today” but that was the story each day. They were apologetic and I asked if they had any fans and they brought up 2 oscillating fans. That helped with moving the warm air around but was barely tolerable. Since our stay was short and we were outside looking at sites we just sucked it up and did not make a stink. It would be a nice gesture to receive some sort of small compensation.

Lovely old palazzo building where they have honoured and preserved original features such as frescoed ceilings and walls, leaded glass and original doors. The terrace is private and a great place to relax anytime of the day or night, with complimentary refreshments. The hotel is welcoming and feels ‘lived in’ - it’s a great antidote to faceless impersonal chain hotels. A great choice of food and drinks for breakfast. The hotel echoes the very feel of Florence - it is in the very heart of the city within easy walking distance of so many attractions. I found the staff friendly and helpful.

There was only one electrical socket in the room (in the en-suite). It can be noisy at night especially if there are ‘stag party’ groups in the city.

The location is perfect for walking to all the main attractions. It’s easy to get to from the airport. The tram costs less than 2 euros and if you get off at the train station it’s less than an 10 minute walk from there. We read negative reviews about the breakfast which is a self service buffet with a good selection of sweet and savoury items. Machines dispense a selection of juices and coffees or hot water for tea. We were very happy with the breakfast. Our room was comfortable and clean. We had read reviews saying it was noisy so we took earplugs with us and slept well. The hotel is situated in the centre of the old city and surrounded by places to eat which is a plus point. The noise associated with that is to be expected. The staff were friendly and helpful. We spent 7 nights there and if we returned to Florence would have no hesitation in staying again.

There was nothing to dislike. It met my expectations from the pictures I had seen online.

Staff were very flexible and polite, especially Vittorio and Etri. Excellent breakfast room and staff. Reasonably priced and the BEST location for visiting everything on foot. Parking was valet, as nothing else makes sense from this location. Very well organized and well-kept for an historic hotel. So happy they had timely laundry services.

The beds are very hard on the back, but the room was clean and quiet. We moved from a second floor to fourth floor room after the first night. It was in much better shape and very quiet. Please request exactly what you are looking for. They are very accommodating.

Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom small but functional. Staff were always kind and courteous helping with bags and dinner suggestions. Location was great in the same street as the Duomo but far enough away not to be an issue. Breakfast was good with plentiful buffet. Very easy walk from the train station and walking distance to all main sights.

There was a bit of road noise from people and traffic which kept us awake the first night but wasn’t an issue after that. Even with the curtains close it was hard to block out. The coffee was not great but there were plenty of places around which were better.

The hotel is centrally located with easy access to major attractions in Florence. It is housed in a historic building, which adds to its charm—the dining hall with its painted ceiling is stunning. The rooms were clean, and the staff was excellent and friendly. Breakfast was also very good by Italian standards, with a particularly nice selection of sweet items.

As mentioned in other reviews, the location is very central, and especially the northern side (Via Panzani) can be busy and potentially noisy at night. For noise-sensitive guests, I would recommend bringing earplugs.

WOW! We were so surprised to find that this hotel is actually combined from two of the family palaces from the era of the wealthy families of Florence/Fiorenza. While we expected to see the art and fabulous dome and other buildings built by the Medici and the other wealthy families of the Italian Renaissance, we did not expect to stay in one of their homes! It is right down in the old center of the city, so everything is a short walk. Our suite was fabulous. A huge old section of the palace with a gigantic window, one of my favorite features. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. Very professional, proper and friendly. This hotel is operated like one of the old grand hotels of Europe, right down to the massive medallion on the key ring. We are planning not just to return to Florence/Fiorenza, but to the Paris Hotel. I love history, so it was fun staying there.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about. But I offer a tip. We arrived late and were tired, so we skipped breakfast. That was a mistake. Breakfast is served in a stunning room with a ceiling like the Sistine Chapel. There is also a rooftop section of the dinning room as well. The next time, I will have breakfast there.

Location was great, close to the Florence Duomo and the train station. This made orientation to the city easy. Visited the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens, Gallerie de'll Accademia with Michelangelo's David. Went on a local walking tour and a day excursion to the Cinque Terra and Pisa. The room was delightful with a balcony and reasonably spacious. Breakfast was in the room with the ceiling frescos - very special. Also tea/coffee could be obtained here outside breakfast hours. The ambience of these combined 'palaces' was lovely.

Limited power points in the room (2 and one did not work). Mosquitos in the room were an issue.

He breakfast was excellent, plenty to set you up for a day of exploring. The location couldn't have been better. It was easily in reach of all yhe points of interest. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. We wanted to visit Fiesoli so the front desk drew the bus and tram routes on our map and where to get on and off. We got there absolutely fine

The building is under going renovation and some areas are requiring a spruce up. Saying that it looks lovely and has a nice terrace you can use for breakfast

The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful; they were a real joy. The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast buffet quite broad, offering something for every taste. I particularly appreciated that guests could get coffee, tea, and water in the breakfast room at all hours. One of the reasons I selected the Hotel Paris was because the room was quite a bit larger than the average for a hotel in the historic district. The location was perfect.

My room was at the front of the hotel on a low floor, and the noise from the street at night from delivery vehicles, taxis, and tourists partying at the restaurant across the street was bothersome.
