Great staff and the lady on reception swapped my upstairs room for a downstairs 'comfort' room as my partner is awaiting a hip operation and struggles with stairs. A very nice room out of the way and it was clean, warm and comfy. We were only there one night, but could have happily stayed for more. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice and even offered warm croissants! We will stay again when up in the area next time. Great also to have the ability to check in at 14.00 and check out as late as midday, this was very handy when travelling a long way (we were up from Torbay in S Devon).

My only small complaint is about the noise from the room above! It sounded like a small family of elephants had taken up residence!! However, it had quietened down by the time we returned from the restaurant and we both slept well.

The staff were amazing with us and our hound - it really was like a home away from home. We only used the room as a base so whilst it was small, it was perfectly suited for our uses. We all slept well on the beds, the bathroom was lovely and clean allowing us to shower and be fresh for the day ahead. The additional access to the spa and pool facilities at the Hy Hotel was a great addition but in reality, the pool was freezing, Jacuzzi and sauna were out of action. It's still a bonus as it is out of their control. We found the location of the hotel perfect for our uses - access to shopping, food and beaches just on the doorstep but far enough away from the 'main drag' so it was relatively quite.

We went when it was hot... and our room didn't benefit from the coastal winds to cool it down. The room did have a fan which helped a little but in honesty it did make the evenings a little uncomfortable. Was this the fault of the hotel? Absolutely not and it certainly doesn't change the fact that we would certainly stay again in the future. But I wanted to be honest with our review.

The breakfast was beautifully presented, delicious and there was plenty of food! The bed was very comfortable and the room had everything I might need (fan, heater, extra blanket, hairdryer etc) so everything was thought of! The host and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly, her hospitality was the reason I extended my stay for another night, as it really made my stay very special. It is a very homely atmosphere, I love the decoration and the dogs are a welcome addition too! I will definitely be returning!

We arrived at Howarth house early and asked if we could leave our car on car park until check in and was welcomed by a lovely lady who said our room was ready and we could check in now, the room was exceptionally clean, the bed was really comfortable, the shower was lovely and hot and the breakfast was amazing, the staff constantly checking if you wanted anything else, nothing was too much at all, we was so close to everything, bars, shopping, restaurants, cafes we would highly recommend staying at Howarth House.

Staff so welcoming and the beautiful Christmas decorations made it feel like you were entering your own family home. Breakfast was delicious. Everywhere kept spotlessly clean. Location for the town and public transport is the best!

The only negatives for me personally were the stairs, due to health reasons, but I knew this on booking, took the risk and would definitely go back again. It was worth the climb. The water pressure wasn't great, but again, in an old building it's expected and wouldn't put me off.

I stayed overnight with my twin brother as a trip down memory lane. When we were children in the 1960s we stayed there every year on family holidays and had very fond memories. It has changed hands and changed name since then, but remains unmistakably the same hotel and a very comfortable and pleasant one at that. We went with some trepidation in case our memories were spoiled but the reverse was true. The owner / manager was very friendly on arrival and throughout our stay. By chance we were allocated one of the rooms that our family stayed in when we were children which was an added bonus to our visit, and to complete the package, the room had had brand new twin beds put in that morning! So, we had an extremely comfortable stay, everything was very clean, breakfast the next morning was very nice indeed and all in all the whole experience was very positive. Much of Lytham St Anne's as was remains to this day and it is a well kept and very pleasant seaside town, with none of the sad 'faded grandeur' that you sometimes find in other historic resort towns. It remains an excellent destination for a short, or longer break. I would definitely return and would definitely stay at Howarth House Hotel again.

Can't think of anything. It was a perfect place for our visit, obviously for the particular personal memories and associations which took us there in the first place, but equally in its own right as a small and very comfortable hotel.

I was looked after well my bag was carried up the stairs and because I’m elderly they gave me a room on the first floor. I had only paid fora single but they put me in a double room which was free and not as far to walk … bless you, I come to see my brother who isn’t well and it’s a very personal hotel to stay in they remember me from last time. I’ve only been a widow for 8 months so finding life on my own a challenge. So every helpful gesture is greatly appreciated!

Hogarth house is lovely and clean and friendly reception on arriving. Room although quite small with 2 small dogs and their bed, was comfortable enough. We are used to a big bed so a double was cosy . Heating made room really lovely and cosy and you could turn down . It was a cold weekend so we loved it so cosy and heated rail in bathroom ensured lovely warm towels and they were fabulous quality too . Breakfast was lovely and the owner even made me a,bowl of porridge that want on menu but what a fancied instead of full English. My husband had full English and was great quality. Parkimg is OK but we had big car and last to arrive so tight squeeze but other places we probably could have parked. Would definitely go again if in area and with dogs .

Could hear people in next room so felt we could also be heard if we put tv on late . Bed a bit snug and room size small but this really is searching to put something in this box .

Sue made our stay most comfortable. She was warm and friendly and couldn’t do enough to ensure our comfort on 2 very cold nights. Our room was spacious, sparkling clean, beautifully and tastefully decorated and very quiet. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it! Meeting Sue’s three well behaved dogs was extra special too!!! My daughter just fell in love with all three but especially Poppy ❤️

That we couldn’t stay longer!

The breakfast was excellent, the hotel was perfect for accessing the town, beach , pubs and eateries with a bus service literally a few yards away. The staff were so helpful and all showed a genuine love of our furry friends.

Although it is not physically possible for the hotel to change it,the parking is a bit tight, but there are other options of parking on the road.
