We absolutely loved our stay at Annesdale House. Alena and Roger were wonderful hosts, and we felt so privileged that they opened up their beautiful home to us. Our room was gorgeous and roomy, and had a stunning view of their incredibly peaceful garden. Despite being super close to the station (an excellent location when travelling by train from London or wanting to go on day trips throughout the Lake District by bus), all we could hear was the twittering of the birds. Special mention must also go to the spacious bathroom, which comes with both a large bath and a separate rain shower. And, of course, we cannot forget Alena's delicious breakfasts. Annesdale House really felt like a luxurious home-away-from-home and we cannot wait to stay there again!

- The location is perfect! 3 min walk from Windermere Station to get either bus or train. 3 min walk to Orrest Head path, so easy to reach for a morning light walk! Within 5 min walk to the main grocery stores and cafes in Windermere town. - The room is perfect! A bedroom with its own desk and a sofa for reading. It was attached with a living room (including a TV, a CD player, a tea table, a big sofa, and a swivel sofa) with French windows facing the backyard garden - which is huge and pleasant for yoga and hiking warm-up! The whole floor has its own underfloor heating including the bathroom! The most exciting thing is we have the chance to customize our own English breakfast, including vegetarian choices - very fresh and compatible picks of fruit salad! - The host is very kind and careful and cheerful! I was not imagining a host to be our tour guide! She provided us the details for rendezvous and secret lanes to reach the greatest scenery. She is also very careful about giving inductions about the facilities in the room! She is just amazing!!

Everything about Annesdale house including Alena, the Host, is exceptional! From the amazing Fruit salad to the cooked breakfast the food was excellent. Alena's knowledge of the area really made our trip as we visited so many interesting places without ever using the car!!! The accommodation, which combines the best of B&B and Air B & B facilities, is a five minute walk from the Bus station but very quiet and peaceful. Alena has exceptional attention to detail and whilst being very attentive and entertaining gives you room to " do your own thing". Our accommodation consisted of a large bedroom with ensuite plus lounge with comfy seating ( including a Sofa bed if required) and a Smart TV. Best ever!
Nothing! I can be a severe critic but could find nothing to fault this exceptional accommodation and host. I only wish I had taken some photos to show.

What an absolute gem of a place. Great location to explore the lakes and mountains as everything is within walking distances. The hospitality was exceptional, our host Alena was incredible and she has so much passion for what she does. Our only regret is that we did not book a longer stay. We both wish you all the best and look forward to returning in the near future.

Stayed for two nights in this wonderful property, Alena and Roger were perfect hosts, Alena took time to welcome us and to provide local information for our stay, we were blessed with beautiful weather which made sitting on the patio overlooking the amazing garden a real joy. Could not fault any aspect of our stay and would recommend Annesdale House with confidence to anyone looking to stay in this area.

Absolutely beautiful room(s) in a stunning Victorian house. Spotlessly clean, everything you needed to have a lovely break away. The garden was amazing too. We had our own private terrace leading on to the garden. Alena was a wonderful host, very knowledgeable of the area, nothing was too much trouble. Freshly cooked breakfast served in the dining room of Alenas beautiful home.

The host was very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was well cooked and the recommendations for local travel were perfect. The room was very clean, well presented and nicely decorated. We appreciated the random selection of CDs available and relaxing in front of the big windows with rain in the background and Jazz playing was beautiful.
Literally the only thing I would change would have been a bath bomb or similar so we could have had a bubble bath in the big bath, but it's on us for not planning ahead, really.

The full English Breakfast was very good and well presented. We chose to eat in our room which was no problem. Roger and Alena were excellent hosts welcoming us as if to their own home, very caring people. The room and bathroom were finished to very high standards and comfortable. The garden was colourful, worth exploring with a table and chairs on a patio for our exclusive use. Excellent value for money, we would happily return every time, very convenient for the train and bus stations. Very close to Windermere centre but quiet as well.
Nothing really, Annesdale House was what we choose and it met our expectations fully.

The property is close to everything that we needed, it’s clean and the rooms are huge and so inviting. The owner made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived to the time that we left. Nothing was too much trouble for her including giving us a lift to the wedding venue on the day of our friends wedding.

Alena the owner was absolutely lovely and very attentive. Great breakfasts, super convenient location to Windermere town yet a nice and quiet spot. A very homely feel to the space and nice touches like milk being in the fridge in your room are appreciated! Highly recommend.
