One gets the feeling that if this was not an apart-hotel, it would be an upscale Japanese condo. It’s very well located, a 10 minute (for us) walk from the Kyoto rail station, next to a four-story AEON mall which has a reasonable food court and a full range grocery store. Close to Kyoto’s excellent public bus system. Security is good (but see negative comment below), with deadbolt and high security key access. Apartments are sizeable, and there are only two apartments on each floor, separated by an elevator, so noise is not a problem. The Booking website shows the room layout accurately. Rooms are a good size, but note no storage, only hangers. Bed is comfortable, with duvets. Toilet is separate from the bathroom, a handy feature; note, however, that the toilet is in a very compact room – think Boeing 737MAX size, and mobility challenged people may have an issue. The bathroom itself allows freedom of movement. There’s a tub, with separate shower. Shower pressure and volume is excellent, and there’s good lighting in the washbasin area. The apartment has been very recently built or redone; very little evidence of wear. Staff are very friendly and congenial, with very good skill in English. Unit was spotlessly clean. Lighting in all the living areas was excellent, making for easy reading or board game playing in the evenings. Wifi was acceptable for our use, but not exceptionally fast, at 5 Mbps early on a Sunday morning. The TV in the kitchen/dining/living area was huge, and we enjoyed the ability to use our Netflix and Amazon Prime memberships, given that we couldn’t find any English language programs on the satellite channels. Air conditioning is provided by ductless units in the living and bedroom areas; they worked effectively and silently. The washing machine worked well; kudos to management for including detailed instructions in English, something many other places lack. Clothes drying is by rack. It's a personal beef, and I realize the hotel has the right to set its own rules, but I didn't like having to drop the room key at the front desk every time we went out. To be fair, the guy running the place promised there's always be someone at the desk, and there was, even when I did my early morning run. It's just that I don't like the thought of anyone coming in off the street and asking for a room key - just my incipient paranoia. We got to know the staff over our stay, so not a big problem. I'd give the hotel 9.7 out of ten, but I'm prepared to round up...

Perfect family friendly accommodation with kitchen facilities and plenty of room for a family of 5. Great location to Kyoto Station and Aeon Mall which had a great choice of takeout and a supermarket, perfect for our family where everyone wanted to eat differently. Lots of western options for our kids and Japanese for the parents. The supermarket was handy too to grab everything for breakfast. The staff were so friendly and so helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. The rooms were clean and well looked after, and it was the biggest family room we stayed in, in Japan.

Absolutely fabulous location- 5 minutes walk to Kyoto Station, directly next door to the Aeon Mall, and just a few blocks from Toji Shrine. Very central location to access other tourist spots. Nice, clean rooms that feel new. The staff were friendly, spoke English well, and were very helpful (especially Yugo!). The hotel room was a Japanese-sized apartment, so large for a hotel room, but a tight fit for a family of 6 for multiple days. Despite that we would definitely come back and stay here again. We really liked having a washing machine and dry feature in the shower room. We loved the proximity to Kyoto Station, which made getting around Kyoto a breeze. Having a big mall with a food court, grocery store, and drug store right next door was so convenient for meals. The Glanz Kei also had many items in the lobby that could be borrowed during our stay including toys for our kids! We also appreciated being able to leave our bags after checking out before our next train. We loved our stay here and sincerely hope to come back to Kyoto and the Glanz Kei again soon!

Exceptional for many reasons! We were three adults and it was a perfect layout for couple and 17 yo. We had two bedrooms, kitchen/dining area, bathroom/laundry, separate toilet, large shoe closet. Main bedroom had super comfy and large beds in it, while second room had traditional futon set up. TV in main area and second bedroom. Excellent amenities available which you could collect extra items if wanted from reception/entrance area (if it wasn’t in apartment already). • 24 hour reception. • Brilliant location - near Kyoto Station, massive shopping centre Aeon Mall, supermarket etc. • Staff were super helpful and pleasant. • Cooling worked a treat in all rooms which was great because high 30’s (Celsius) and very humid • Excellent washing machine and drying room. If need more hangars, reception had them. • Shower, bath, etc

The staff are very attentive to your needs and enthusiastic in welcoming you. They also have a wall full of pictures of their past guests from different countries, showing how they treated them well. I also liked that we can use/ share with the kitchen utensils from the lobby such as oil, dishwashing liquid, and salt and pepper — no need for further buying from groceries. As for the location, it is nearly behind AEON mall and a 7-9 minute walk from kyoto station and avanti mall. I really recommend this place, especially for big groups!

The room was spacious enough to accommodate 6 - 8 guests, but we still struggled with our luggage space. Nonetheless, we still enjoyed our stay.

Close to several lines and convenient base for transport. Convenience stores, izakayas, restaurants and Aeon Mall at your doorstep. Staff were welcoming and helpful, room was ample for family of 5, with a separate bedroom plus tatami area and dining set. Mod-cons, clear instructions provided for operation of amenities; more than enough bathroom supplies for our short stay which included cleaning. Kids made use of Nintendo switch and board games. Smooth check-in and prompt communication. Reception can facilitate luggage transfer service. Highly recommend if you wish to be close to Kyoto Station *****

Note only 1 dishwashing capsule provided, small drying room/wet area, however you can purchase addition capsules. Handy to have a laundromat only a few steps away where we could dry our washing.

Cleanliness, check in, comfort, snack room. Friendliness of staff. Room size was fantastic. Wifi was great. Location is across the street from a shopping center which makes a lot of things easy. Staff is multilingual: at least English, Chinese, Japanese all okay. Staff also super helpful with help navigating Kyoto. There is a washing machine. No American style dryer, so you have to plan ahead a little bit to dry your clothes.

I didn't hate it, but you have to leave your key with the staff when you leave. Just something to remember.

Good location, close to the central station. The appartement is spacious enough for 4 people and it is well equipped. There was a lot of information about the area and clear instructions for the use of all the appliances. Additionally, there is a large variety of amenities for free rental. Next to a shopping center and very close to Toji temple (10 mins walk). Reception open 24/7 and possibility to store our luggage for free before and after our stay.

The tatami room was not cleaned properly, there were hairs and dust. The air conditioning is very noisy.

Clean! Cosy! Plenty of amenities provided. Very child-friendly! Highchair, toys, potty, diapers are provided. Electrical appliances like extra kettle can be loaned free of charge. Friendly staff who greet you whenever you enter. Went the extra mile to accommodate us by giving us the entire level when we book family rooms A and B. The staff love children. 24/7 staff assistance. Family room comes with communal spaces to dine and lounge in. Walking distance to the train station. Dining place conveniently located next door. The best accommodation we stayed in Japan!

One of the family rooms has few partitions - consisting of two living spaces, one for 4 people to sleep in and one for communal lounge and two other people to sleep in. Would be better if there is a partition between the futon sleeping area and the dining area, so that people sleeping on the futon beds have privacy and won’t be disturbed by people watching tv or hanging out in the same space. Would be more comfortable if more toilets/bath spaces are provided within the property or the hotel. 6 people sharing one toilet and one bathroom is not ideal.

A great hotel conveniently located a 5 minute easy walk from Kyoto Station and right next door to the Aeon Mall. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a Family Room for 5 adults on the third floor. It was very well laid out, clean and had plenty of room for us all (and the 6 suitcases we had!) Minimal noise from outside and has windows that were able to open for fresh air. It had a fully stocked, functional kitchen with additional appliances available for "free rent" at Reception, along with boardgames, toys, toiletries and cleaning items. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will gladly stay there again in the future!
