The service was amazing.Arrived to beautiful smiles from both Markus and Susy.Susy was so warm,welcoming and personable.Check in was smooth and although the house turned hotel had no elevator they helped me with my suitcase up the stairs.Complimentary tea,coffee and water was available which was great. Also,managed to have dinner as the restaurant isn’t open everyday and the food was delicious.Juliana (I think that’s how I spell it,she’s from Holland) from breakfast was awesome,taking the time to not only provide a delicious breakfast but also get to know you more as a person rather then another guest.Lastly, the accommodation wasn’t central but was an easy 15 minute tram/bus ride away which was across the road which was great.Overall a great stay and would stay again.Thank you.☺️

The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful, especially Jennine (sp?) This is a quaint older building and Susy and Markus have kept it in great condition. Everything in the room worked well. We happened to be visiting during a huge heat wave in Europe and many hotels do not have air conditioning, including this one. They provided a fan for the room and due to the hotel's location uphill a bit, it did cool down at night. The hotel is just across the street from a bus stop where several buses can get you into downtown Lucerne easily, and it was very nice to be in a quiet area. I would recommend this as an alternative to the busier downtown Lucerne locations.

This charming hotel and Michelin-starred restaurant truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality that made us feel right at home. The attention to cleanliness throughout the property was impressive, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant environment. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the exquisite dinner at their restaurant. Markus, is a talented chef. Suzan manages the establishment alongside Markus with grace and dedication, and the kind staff further enhanced our experience. Their professionalism and genuine care for guests set Basthof Rössli apart. I am more than happy to recommend Basthof Rössli to anyone looking for a remarkable experience in Lucerne, Switzerland. Nothing all was good for us

We chose this hotel to experience a traditional Swiss hotel,to be away from the hustle and bustle of Luzern but to be able to visit the city daily. Downstairs,the hotel retains the wood panelling and decor typical of an alpine hotel.Upstairs, the bedrooms are modern and well appointed but still have unique wood features, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. There are several buses to the centre of Luzern from just outside the hotel and the journey takes 11 minutes. The 73 post bus was very reliable, clean and a smooth trip.

This is a very nice hotel which has been well updated , warm welcome. Very nice view from the room.

Sink drain pipe were blocked. Shower’s pipe of the bathroom had leaking. We have two bottles of water in the room, but one of them was unfastened and didn’t have the bottle cap. Breakfast was so weak, although we were there at 8:30, but breads were finished and the waitress who was in charge went to the bakery and fortunately bought one!!! She was so kind, and also there were some plates which hasn’t been charged!!! Totally I think that they didn’t pay much attention to everything. The reason that I complained is that the owner pay attention to details.

We had a lovely stay at the Landgasthof Hotel Rossli and would highly recommend it. This family run hotel is a gem! Our room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The restaurant on site is a bonus! Suzy, the owner, shared with us the history of the hotel and helped us navigate through the menu. We then had a delicious and memorable evening meal prepared by Markus. A delightful experience!

We were well looked after by all the staff! The hotel is beautiful and has great charm. We had a room with a balcony which had a stunning view of the village and the church. The room was a great size and beds were extremely comfortable. All of the hotel was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast had great options. We were sad to leave this hotel and look forward to coming again.

Glass on one side of the bathroom was not frosted, would have preferred complete privacy.

Susan, Markus and their entire staff do an outstanding job. Breakfast was delicious, beds very comfortable, and the water pressure in shower was outstanding.

If you want a place walkable to Lucerne this isn’t for you. But we loved the location. We easily took the bus into Lucerne and loved how quiet it was in the neighborhood. There is not an elevator (no big deal to us) and no AC. These “drawbacks” didn’t stop me from giving the hotel a 10. The positives were so amazing, the others didn’t matter to us.

Although the location is away from Lucerne, it was a quick 15 bus ride from the train station right to the hotel. All the staff were exceptional. They had staff carry our luggage to our upstairs room. The chef-owner Marcus was a wonderful host, as was his wife, and the restaurant was amazing!

Beautiful 250 year old old guesthouse in a quiet neighbourhood of Luzern. Bus stop to city centre is only 2 minute walk and 14 minute trip to the centre of Luzern. Rooms have been tastefully renovated, large and exceptionally clean. Hosts Markus and Susy are very welcoming. They serve a very good breakfast and the restaurant serves great meals. Highly recommend staying.
