Built as a lovely family home, now a comfortable hotel. Clean rooms, newly refurbished bathroom. Central location. Excellent breakfast.

Expensive for what it was. But probably because there was strong demand for the date we weee staying. Also a bit odd that we had to book our breakfast time the night beforehand - would have preferred flexibility.

The hotel was a very short walk to the town centre and you did not hear too much noise from outside. It also benefitted from having a car park, although some spaces are a bit tight and require expert manoeuvring to fit in. The hotel serves breakfast but I cannot comment on that as I booked on a room only basis. The WiFi signal in the room was good. The bathroom had underfloor heating too. Unlike many hotels, my room was refreshed on both days I was there (bed made, refreshments topped up, bin emptied, used towels changed, etc.) and not just when I arrived, which was appreciated. The room was comfortable temperature-wise and had a very high ceiling.

Being an older building, noise suppression from other rooms is not as good as a more modern construction. I could hear people moving about above me because the floor boards squeaked and somebody snoring all night on the first night in a nearby room. The television in the room was extremely small and far away. Maybe it was me, but I could not get rid of the subtitles either. There was no fan or air conditioning so the room may get hot in the summer.

Very clean, comfortable hotel, nice decorated with a very calm feel. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with very good coffee. Nice part of Harrogate, quiet but convenient for town centre. Off street parking.

(Single) room was small with very small bathroom but that was fine for one night. It was excellent value for money.

Lovely hotel with a great location. Breakfast was fabulous, good choice, and quick to come to the table. Didn't use the hotel as such other than for sleep but was very welcoming and had a nice bar to have a drink if you wanted one. The room was lovely with a huge bed, this was a bonus as we have a king at home. Towelling dressing gown was provided for us both, never had that before and was a nice touch as you don't tend to bring your own from home.Would definitely stay again if we were back down that way

Was woken by another guest at 4am who had his phone on loudspeaker trying to get into his room, decided to go and stay with his friend at the premier inn, room 514 to be exact! Clearly he wasn't too bright as your room number is on your key, which also has the front door key on which he would have used to get in. We didn't even mention this as this was no fault on the hotel, just an inconsiderate guest.

Our room was large, well appointed and the beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfasts were fantastic All the staff were very friendly Car parking was good

Ascot House hotel is within walking distance of all popular landmarks in Harrogate. It's simply a gorgeous hotel! The wonderful staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Their breakfast is second to none. During my 5-day stay I felt at home and safe. David, Annabel, her mother and the rest of the staff are simply magic, and I’ll definitely come back to stay at Ascot House! Thank you, David- you are a beautiful gentleman inside and out ♥️

I’m a picky guest, 8/10 I leave somewhere disappointed, start to finish our stay was very nice. We met 3 members of staff during our stay and all 3 were very competent and really friendly, the room was small but tasteful and clean, the bed was really comfortable & I appreciated the quality of the towels. We slept extremely well and although I think it might have been down to luck with our neighbours, at night it was very quiet. Overall I think the price although slightly more than some similar competitors is very fair for what you get as you do receive a higher standard than most. The walk into the centre is sweet and under 10 mins and onsite parking is a plus. I would definitely stay again. Thank you

Most of the breakfast was nice/okay but the veggie sausages were very dull, I’d advise upgrading the sausages and maybe add some avocado or spinach.

Comfortable stay with large, clean and well appointed room with huge en-suite. Excellent breakfast, full table service. Many restaurants in Harrogate, and several within 5 - 15 minutes walk. Good bus service, used this to visit RHS Harlow Carr.

Tight spaces in car park, but guests can park in the adjoining side street so not an issue. Very hot weather, but unable to open one of the two windows which was locked, and no key to be found by the staff. We did open the other window fully. He said he'd fetch us a fan but this was not forthcoming.
