Wow what a place! All the staff were amazing ... so polite, very helpful and accommodating, and generally happy people that offered a feeling of calm and professionalism. The building is stunning, stylish, immaculately clean and the room very well looked after during our stay. The garden was such a lovely bonus at the end of a day climbing the hills of porto! Proximity to public transport (both bus and metro) was such a bonus.

I didn't dislike anything, however, having decaf available at breakfast would be good with this already being available in the rooms, and some nice bistro seating in that fab garden would be brilliant. Neither of these things spoilt our stay mind. Would highly recommend to anyone!

We loved the low profile and old property look, the staff were so genuinely so nice , breakfast was really good , and just enough . The pool was really good and we were very lucky that it was quiet and we were able to really enjoyed , and having my 8 year old making all the noises he wanted ….

There was only one issue I found , I was 8 months pregnant and so couldn’t sleep well, in the morning , as our bedroom was the level Under the kitchen / breakfast room, there was this waitress with really heavy walking that woke me up most of the days, honestly , my husband has a heavy sleep and even he was awaken by it, It would be nice if there was a bit more consideration regarding this when it starts around 6 am

This hotel is a historical.authentic boutique hotel. All rooms are different, so you have to be careful while making reservation. We have received a room.ahich should have been changed, but the second one had met the description and our requirements as well. Breakfast is standard but nicely prepared and exposed in the bar. Orange just is really perfect. The living room is a very pleasant and cool place. I liked very much old panels, encrusted ceilings, staircase and also furniture in the leaving area.The staff is doing their best to meet the quests'needs, which is really aporeciated. This is a very special and unusual property, with a wonderful ambience and understated elegance. The staff were so helpful and considerate and sought to be caring in all respects. Our room was quirky but spacious and well-appointed. The breakfast was well-presented with a reasonable array of choices to eat.

Having to climb 2 steep flights of stairs, and to lug one's cases to the room with no assistance, was a considerable challenge was somewhat annoying! Our room, whilst pleasant, had a bathroom door which would not close properly and the shower had only warm water at best, which was inexcusable and most unsatisfactory. Also, we had to leave our building to go next door for breakfast which was less than convenient or private.

The property and rooms are beautiful - don’t be out off by the exterior or the area. There are lots of little cafes within 2 minutes of the hotel. The swimming pool is lovely with lots of sun-beds around it.

A little bit away from the river and main Porto areas. We walked there each night in no about 30 minutes and Uber’d home which was 5 euro so cheap enough. We had some issues with our room but it was dealt with immediately.

Helpful staff, good breakfast (if only the coffee was better:) Deluxe room is spacious and comfortable, even though the doors to the garden leave quite a gap under them which wasn’t optimal in heavy rain (and apparently it always rains in Porto…) Metro is very close by.

First room (cozy) was way too small for two people but luckily we were able to upgrade to a larger room for extra payment. Long walking distance to the Douro river and the restaurants there (use metro).

Really, really helpful staff at this hotel - the site is run to a high standard and nothing is too much trouble. Bathroom great and good facilities. Plenty of TV channels in English if needed. Location is great in terms of being outside town but close to a metro stop that takes you into the main tourist areas of Porto - but there are also shops, a supermarket and restaurants nearby. Garden area and pool are a bonus.

Only minor issue - wifi signal not great in every part of the hotel but enough for streaming etc and you could use the hotel lounge if needed.

The location was great - we got to experience a more local perspective as the accommodation is not located fully centrally but in a more residential area. It is placed opposite the metro station as well as plenty of bus stops around. The transport links were amazing. The hotel staff was amazing, not only they took their time to explain and show us around the hotel, but you can also feel their passion and great energy that was contagious. The room itself was great with all the amenities in place.

Even though breakfast was great, I wish there would have been a slightly wider variety of options as some things would run out pretty quickly. I would suggest include more fresh vegetables and fruit.

Our room was quite spacious and worked well for travelling with two toddlers. The staff was very kind and helpful with the needs of our family. Lovely garden and building in general. Right in front of a Metro (underground) station - just a couple of stops to the city centre.

It was not a big issue for us personally, but the fact that it only has stairs and not other solutions more accessible for elders or people with disabilities (lifts etc.), could be something to bear in mind when booking it.

An outstanding boutique hotel with the added bonus of a swimming pool for those hot afternoons. Amazing breakfast with hot food cooked to order. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Located in a leafy suburb of Porto, it is located a few yards from the Marquês metro station.
