Easy to find and access. Was able to park outside the door of a ground floor unit. It was on a busy road but was still quite quiet. That is, there was little traffic noise. Separate bedroom was good. Close to the city centre. Short walk to major supermarkets. Great service from staff, particularly with laundry. Sliding door to outside chair and table seating next to grassy lawn. Full cooking facilities.

The room lights were strong and harsh. Options for dimmer, warmer lighting would be better. Maybe some bedside lamps, or change the bulbs in the wall lights over the bed to warmer (yellow) lower wattage.

The owners at Motel 6 were professional and sincere in welcoming us on arrival, the same can be said for the staff, happy, polite and accomodating to our needs. The accomodation was a little dated, but very clean especially in the bathroom and toilet area, the shower was excellent, good pressure, and plenty of hot water. Plenty of tea and coffee with a couple of cookies thrown in too. The bed was super clean and comfy. On a personal note, we have re-booked for two nights this week, so yes we would have no hesitation in recommending Motel 6 to all travellers. Des & Alison

Probably the best Motel I've stayed at. We stayed here to break up our trip from Northland to Auckland, and were very pleased we did. The owners seem to be new and have transformed the place into a comfortable and clean place to stay. The accommodation is well worth the price we paid. The added bonus is the service and generosity of the Motel's staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasurable one.

My only suggestion would be to update and post better photos of the rooms on booking.com. The rooms actually look much better than the photos.

The host couldn’t have been more welcoming. Her statement was “you are my guests so I will do anything for you” We had some wet weather so our washing was done for us and dried and folded at no extra charge. The room had everything we needed including little treats to make us feel like a home away from home. Everything was cleaned and fresh daily.

Quite spot, despite it's off a busy road. Close to the supermarket. Nice touches to elevate the interior and very good value for money. Beds were comfy too. Would return here again in future.

Could have been a little cleaner, some side tables had some sticky stuff on.We didn't have enough towels per person. (Basically got two big towels for a family of four....but we didn't approach the office to ask for more, as we were too tired and was late).

Our hosts were very welcoming and attentive to our needs. It was fantastic having the two separate rooms and the beds were comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy and the location in walking distance of the Whangarei basin.

On the first night there were a few rowdy guests who must have been attending an event and were not considerate of others when they arrived back at 3am. This can happen anywhere however and our second night was much quieter.

We were welcomed by the new owners, who insisted on helping us take our luggage up the stairs. The unit was perfect for us, with a separate bedroom and full kitchen. It had everything we needed. We liked the cute styling done by the new owner. The location is fantastic being so close to town . Supermarket easy walking distance. We have stayed before and will definitely do so again The rate was very good value.

My host at Motel Six was so warm and welcoming. I felt safe and cared for. The room was tidy and clean, the bed and furnishings were comfortable and well presented. I was grateful for the extra's provided (toothpaste eg).

The walls are thin, so although I felt safe knowing there were others around me, I was consistently woken up very early by hearing the morning routines of other occupants of neighbouring rooms.

I liked the extra touches like the shampoo and bodywash on the shower wall and tooth brushes with toothpaste etc. I didn't expect those extras for the price but it would mean we wouldn't hesitate to come back again. I loved the pretty teacups too. Also it was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a bit of trouble getting the TV working , a TV/ sky manual would be good.

Breakfast not available. Very small unit, more suitable for a one night stay. Microwave only means of cooking but that's fine for just one night. Fast-food outlets nearby. Very comfortable bed. Good towels. Very good location, eas easy to locate without GPS.

A bit on the small side but visitors were thinner at the time the Motel was built! Some units experience road noise but that is often unavoidable due to Handy location. However, we were accommodated at rear of building.
