The hotel's breathtaking location provided spectacular views from the castle. Staying in a balcony room felt like being in a scene from a movie, with the stunning scenery serving as a perfect backdrop. It was truly an unforgettable experience!

Nothing - the property was absolutely spotless and the service was fantastic.

The property, the location, and the view were awesome 👌.

Everything was perfect until we found out there were cockroaches in the room. We've found 3,and we've killed 2 of them. I have photos of them. What surprised me, was the reaction of the stuff when I called them to inform. They only said " sorry to hear that..." I was expecting the manager will come and assure us that they will deal with the matter but no. I wasn't seeking a refund or something but should've been different approach I guess. The hotel and food were amazing, expensive but amazing . The beauty comes with price. But I can't understand the fact that there are cockroaches in the room...never had that before.

Service - 10/10. Could not speak more highly of this hotel. From the minute we got there the staff went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. When we checked in we asked to move into the next room and the girls at the front desk not only accommodated that but put a coffee machine and pods in our room. From the lady who brought the machine to the bar staff at the American bar, just exceptional service and I’ve stayed at 5 star hotels all over the world. Want to give a particular shout out to Ala and Alys at the front desk. Thank you for making our stay so exceptional. Location - 10/10. I didn’t realise this before booking but the hotel is perched at one of the best vantage points in the city with spectacular views and grounds from the rooms, the breakfast spot, outdoor picnic area and the American bar. The little funicular gets you down to the road in a few minutes and from there it’s a 15 minute walk to the train and port, restaurants and the river. Food - 8/10 - typical for Switzerland but obviously a little pricey. Overall we liked it. Aesthetic - the hotel is absolutely stunning and just loved being in a historic hotel that’s been around since the 19th century.

Only suggestion for the future would be to have more comfortable mattresses and pillows as the pillows were a bit too slim for a firm mattress but I would stay there again for sure.

Beautiful location, especially if you have a room facing the lake, it's lovely to watch the sunrise sunset with the town, lake and mountains from the windows, breakfast terrace or the bar terrace. Short bus ride or walk into town. Furnicular ride up and down was fun and there's a lovely park/ woods behind for short walks. The bar had great cocktails. Room was comfy and large. Breakfast was excellent and enjoyed the freshly made eggs, pancakes.

Sound insulation is poor, could hear other guests/staff in the corridor. There was also a party one of the evenings which was a bit annoying being right below our window. We were only informed on check in. Would have been nice to have been told earlier. Slight issue with cleanliness, towel smelt extremely chemically. The area below the furnicular felt a bit dodgy especially late evenings.

My stay at Château Gütsch was nothing short of exceptional. The property itself feels like something out of a fairy tale, perched on the hillside with breathtaking panoramic views over Lucerne, the lake, and the surrounding mountains. The building is steeped in history yet beautifully maintained, with interiors that combine elegance, charm, and comfort. The staff were genuinely warm, attentive, and professional, ensuring that every detail of my stay was perfect. From the seamless check-in to thoughtful touches in the room, their hospitality truly stood out. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and impeccably clean, with a balcony that offered spectacular sunrise and sunset views. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. Dining at the hotel’s restaurant was an absolute delight. The cuisine was refined and flavorful, and the wine list was well-curated. Breakfast on the terrace with the view of Lucerne was the highlight of my mornings. In short, Château Gütsch is more than just a hotel, it’s an experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, luxurious, and memorable stay in Lucerne.

Chateau Gutsch was a destination unto itself. While planning our trip to Switzerland we saw many videos of locals, tourists, and influencers riding the funicular up to the hotel for a drink at the bar and beautiful views of Lucerne. We decided to splurge and reserved two rooms, one for my wife and myself, and one for our adult kids so we'd have that view for the entirety of our stay in Lucerne. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms were spacious with modern bathrooms and comfortable beds, the breakfast was delicious, the staff was beyond-accommodating, and we ended all three of our days in Lucerne at the bar enjoying their masterful cocktails for several hours into the evening.

Of our two rooms, ours didn't have air conditioning. We were there in early May and it was cool outside overnight, so we just opened our windows, but I could see that room getting hot by mid summer. Otherwise, zero complaints, our entire experience was amazing!

The staff was absolutely amazing! From reception to the exceedingy amiable restaurant personnel who seemed to speak every laguage that was spoken to them..my family and I were thoroughly impressed. And to the magnificent women who took the time to remember our 9 year olds breakfast order, which tickeled him to no end... Merci Beaucoup y abrazos ;)

There was a mildly off-putting mildew smell in our rooms bathroom that took away from the ambiance. Please check the wooden cabinets beneath the sink for dampness and/or mold.

Welcome drink at reception and fast checkin Kind stuff Comfortable and spacious room Picture-perfect location with fantastic view Great restaurant Beautiful bar with stunning view Very easy access to the city with the funicular Complimentary mini-bar and wine at the room

No coffee machine at the room Hair dryer not functioning, weight scale not functioning No knife or fork for fruits in the room Suboptimal sound-proof room infrastructure Not big variety or great quality at the breakfast, and not frequent replenishment of food Room was pretty expensive, still breakfast was not included (and was quiet costly ~40chf/person) and car-parking was not included either (25chf/day)

Great location, view is just superb. Staff is really friendly and helpful, we were given a lot of recomendations upon check-in. Breakfast is really nice. A pleasant surprise was that Lucern pass was issued to us for the whole stay, meaning we had discount in museums and free public transport within city.

Our room could be described as the one that castle workers lived in previous times, meaning it was rather small and underwhelming, it definetely has a vibe nevertheless, but i am not sure if it was woth the money still. Mattress was too soft for our taste. There was no info list in the room, the info on TV didn’t work, resulting in us not knowing at what time is breakfast, for example.

Amazing staff and ambiance. The rooms are beautiful and the view outside our balcony was exceptional! We were treated with so much hospitality and made life-long memories.

We traveled on a rather warm day for June - 80F degrees. The room was equipped with a fan that worked okay, but we were still a bit warm in our room. There was also a private event that was happening on the terrace that our room overlooked — it was a university party with loud music and it was VERY fun to sit on our balcony and dance along until the party ended around 10:30pm, but I imagine if you were hoping for rest and quiet, you would have been disappointed that you were not warned of the event when booking your stay.
