The hotel is conveniently located near the train station (two stops away buy bus then another 3 mins walk) and even old town. Clean room and hotel. Nice staffs. It has small elevator to help you carry luggages. The room is NOT ensuite, which I already knew beforehand. It has basic sink, beds and wardrobe in the room. Shared bathroom/toilet facility is amazingly clean and immaculate. breakfast provided is nice, with good selection, more than what i expected for the segment this hotel markets in.

Despite the hotel label, I feel this is more like upscale hostel style. it def has 10/10 hostel experience, but only 6-7/10 hotel, just to manage your expectation. the room is no frill (but adequate). the room has no aircond/fan, so honestly can get quite hot in the summer. i feel it suits more young/solo/couple/student travellers and backpackers, vs. family with kids (who tend to carry many luggages and bulky kids-related stuffs). the hotel itself is immaculate. just feel this review is worth considering for fellow travellers with kids.

The lady receptionist was very kind and helpful. The room is humble but has everything you need; same for the breakfast. The bathrooms and showers were generally very clean, but you can tell there are inconsiderate people who make a mess and don't open windows. I really recommend putting liquid seat sanitizers next to toilettes so guests can self-clean, but in general it is above expectation in terms of shared WCs. The stairway and other common areas are also very clean. An important plus is that you get a free transport card which shortens the walk to the center.

The walls separating the two twin rooms are thin. You can hear everything from the other room which I did not expect. I brought earplugs which blocked out most noise but this is a red flag to those who are sensitive to noise.

One thing we love about this hotel is the superb cleanliness! Special thanks to Ms. Josie from the breakfast section & Ms. Ana & other lady from the housekeeping. They made our stay more comfortable & they very welcoming to us. 1. Cleanliness is Superb!! 2. Really great value for money. 3. Breakfast has everything you need to start your day before heading to explore Luzern 4. Area is in great location & truly quite that you can really rest. 5. Very close to downtown (comfortable walk for 10mins to Luzern Main Station) or 5 mins by bus (very close to Bus Stop) 6. Excellent Customer Service from all the staff. 7. Reception is really helpful especially to help us store our luggage for some few hours after checking out. We stayed for 3 nights, we recommend to request if possible any corner room. We were at room 303 & very good, bright & refreshing to get ample of windows. In future, if we go back to Luzern, we would definitely stay here again! Thank you Hotel Alpha!

I loved how reachable this hotel is—just a 15‑minute walk from the main train station, and yet it's located in a peaceful corner of Lucerne with zero street noise or late‑night parties. We were delighted to find a bright corner room with both a balcony and an extra window. Having a sink right in the room came in surprisingly handy for quick freshening up, and everything—from the fresh linens to the spotless floors—felt impeccably clean. Breakfast was amazing: included fresh local breads, cheese and cold cuts, and those big tea cups (a rarity in most hotels!). The staff deserved extra praise for their punctuality and speed—check‑in, check‑out, and room cleaning. The showers were very clean too. It was near perfection: quiet, bright, exceptionally clean, and staffed by people who really know how to keep things running smoothly.

No shampoo was provided in the shower stalls; otherwise, everything was perfect.

Great location. Close to a bus stop. Easy to get to old town. Staff was very friendly. They allowed us to keep our bags in the office after check out while we were out sightseeing. Breakfast was also very good. Bathrooms are shared but extremely clean.

There are no air conditioners. We knew about this and it does not reflect poorly on the hotel but something to be aware of. The hotel staff provided us with a fan but it was kind of small. The high temperature was about 89 F and it was a bit uncomfortable even with the fan running at the highest speed. Also, the hotel only provides one fan per room.

Great place for the price. Short walk to town. Free bus transport. Rooms were basic but clean and beds comfy. Toilets and showers outside the room were always clean and available. We had a nice little balcony to enjoy. No aircon. We were there early August, and it was a bit hot in the room at night, but bearable. Bloke at the front desk was helpful and friendly. I think his name was Patrick . If you're after an affordable room in Lurcerne, this is the place.

The hotel was about 10-15 minutes from the station, straight up along a road with lots of traffic. It was quietly situated so that external noise was not a problem. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and the hotel was clean, tidy and airy. As with all Swiss hotels (I think), you get a pass for free transport, and city centre wifi. The hotel cost was reasonable for Switzerland, and to save more, I opted for a cheaper room with shared bathroom (they also had ensuite). I really prefer ensuite, but after reading another review, I decided to take a chance, and it was fine. Both the toilet and shower room (with its own toilet) were opposite my room, and it was very quiet (as was the rest of the hotel). I would be happy to stay here again. Lucerne is lovely, especially around the lakeside area, and really deserves more that the one night that I gave it - I didn't have time to explore the surroundings, or the lake. The breakfast was excellent!

The wifi was very weak, and really only worked properly downstairs - at least on my phone, that was the case

The location was great, loved the neighborhood and we were next to a local grocery store. Breakfast was delicious, the bedroom clean and the bathrooms very clean. I would book this hotel again.

When we were checking out the ladies in front of us were telling the front desk that a man filmed one of them while in the hall shower. It would be nice to have the women's door be able to lock so men don't have access to that room from the public hallway. Either that or the shower doors should go all the way up to the ceiling.

Walking distance to Lucerne Main Train Station and 5min walk to nearest bus stop (Pilatusplatz) where there a lot bus heading to main train stn. Room is spacious equipped with a sink. The shared toilet/ bathroom is very clean. Simple breakfast with selections of tea/coffee/chocolate drink. The receptionist also friendly and the kitchen helpers are very friendly. Requested hot water and they will fill up the tumbler for you. Can borrow kettle upon request.

We were pleasantly surprised to see that the breakfast was included, there was a nice variety of Swiss products and everything was fresh. The room was big and we had a cute view from our balcony. We had a sink in the room which was useful. The shared bathroom was clean. The hotel staff was nice enough to keep our luggage at their desk after we checked out because our train was much later in the day.

The curtains were transparent so we were woken up earlier than we wanted because of the natural light. We would've preferred to have opaque curtains. Even though we knew about the shared bathroom, it would've been nice to have a toilet in the room. Be aware of the shared bathroom before you go.
