I just loved the friendly staff , very helpful and caring. Excellent location, close to everything. I would highly recommend this location.

Not a problem, but having a coffee maker with coffee for the mornings for guests that first arrive would be a nice touch . It is often difficult at first to locate a place to enjoy coffee and a light breakfast. All in all a great place .

This hotel was excellent! The staff were so friendly and informative. They make you coffee in the morning and you can sit in the lobby or on the terrace as you plan your day. The kids loved the pool and the adults could sit on the terrace overlooking it. Our rooms were spacious and clean. We had a large group (6 people in a large family room and 3 in a triple room with terrace) and it was a good amount of space for us. The location was perfect, just a few minutes walk to the Spruerbrucke over to Old Town. 10 minute walk to the train station. Will stay here again if we ever make it back to this beautiful country!

The team was exceptionally friendly, welcoming us with big smiles and kindly accommodating an early check-in at no extra cost. The hotel has a charming boutique feel and enjoys an excellent location right in the heart of Lucerne. The room had a small AC unit, which was a welcome feature and really helped during the warm summer nights.

One area for improvement is the cleanliness of the toilet, it wasn’t as spotless as we would have expected. Additionally, the dispensers for hand wash and shower gel were empty during part of our stay and weren’t refilled promptly, remaining unused for at least one night

This was a great central location in the altstaht. There are plenty of restaurants closeby and the river is right around the corner. We had a room with a lovely terrace in which we enjoyed our morning coffee.The air conditioning is a little noisy but worked great. Go to the morning market if you are there on Tuesday or Saturday. Do not miss the Lion monument. Such a beautiful city and nice small hotel to stay in.

The price is high but then this is Switzerland! We would have liked a kettle in the room but one is available in the front desk area.Elevator is tiny but did the job.

We had a lovely one night stay here. The hotel was just like in the pictures and description. Perfect location. The man that checked us in and out was very nice and friendly, we liked him and he kindly stored our bags for us the next day. I enjoyed using the pool after checking in. We checked in a little early which was really appreciated. Luzern is expensive so bearing that in mind it was good value. Many food options a few minutes walk away as you could not be better placed in the old town. The air con was occasionally needed and appreciated. Shower nice. Would stay again and recommend.

The location was excellent: right in the centre of Lucerne's tourist attractions. The room was large with a fridge and kettle. Having these were very unusual in our trip! We were glad to have them: thank you. There are many restaurants and bars nearby. You are in walking distance to both the famous wooden bridges. Switzerland is very expensive. This hotel was less extortionate than many others and was very central.

There was no air conditioning, which meant that the room got very stuffy. When we arrived, the windows were already open. But like other reviewers we also noticed black insects which got inside. So we hurriedly closed the windows. The building is old, so the furniture and layout is old fashioned. This may be an issue for some. But for us, this added to the charm. We did have problems communicating with the hotel. We couldn't respond to the hotel's e-mails about our ETA as our e-mails were bounced back ('recipient not recognised'). We had no response from the hotel's website about our queries. We could not contact the hotel via Booking.Com in the usual way ('contact the hotel' as it was not on our drop-down list of bookings) which was odd. Perhaps this needs to be looked into.

This was our first visit to Switzerland. I would start with staff members, Lars and Toby. Lars and Toby are truly amazing, friendly, and very helpful. I would say they are the greatest assets of this hotel. They did whatever it takes to make our stay enjoyable. The location is amazing. Very close to Luzern train station, busses, and boats. The hot wine was new to us and we loved it. One last thing, they started Christmas decoration little early which created a very warm and happy holiday atmosphere.

WiFi is not good at all, BUT Lars gave me a hotspot from the hotel’s business mobile phone that was enough to get the job done.

We loved our 1 night at the Baslertor! The staff were friendly snd helpful. We were able to store our bags easily. The Baslertor is a traditional style hotel and was charming. The room we booked was comfortable and quiet and clean. We appreciated the lift, the pool and outdoor terrace, and the free coffee downstairs. Location was superb, right in the middle of the old town, and not too far to schlep our bags from train station

A kettle in the room would be a bonus. There was one downstairs we could use though!

The hotel is conveniently located in the old town area of Luzern, quite near to the shorter of the 2 covered bridges spanning the river Reuss (downstream of the Kapellbrucke). You need to look carefully for the sign. It is run by a very cheery and helpful chap who was happy to store our suitcases in a secure office while we visited Mt Rigi on the morning we checked out. The room was very clean and comfortable, and completely quiet. We appreciated that we could access our room via an elevator. A self-serve coffee machine is located in the foyer.

There was nothing to complain about, and we would certainly choose to stay there again.

A very clean and basic ( i.e. reasonable priced ) hotel in the middle of Old Town. Plus they have a elevator for those luggage hauls. A very clean pool is there for your use.

Many rooms have no AC so hot summers may be hard without a provided portable fan. No microwave nor refrigerator so keeping a drink cold is not possible. Knowing they do not like any eating and cooking in the rooms, but someplace to keep an apple juice cold would be nice.
