Beautifully decorated and very peaceful location for the two nights we stayed. The breakfast was great and the hosts are welcoming and make you feel comfortable. Located near a very good restaurant, with the advantage of having an excellent view as you are situated high up above the lake.

A little bit of a hike up the hill from Stresa. No problem if you are happy to walk like us, but for those who don't, it would suit people with a car.

We had a most enjoyable stay at B&B Poggiolo. Andrea and Valeria are wonderful and helpful hosts. Our suite is spacious, with a fabulous view of Lake Maggiore and the islands. The rooms are tastefully furnished; the bathroom is modern; everything is spotless. We slept very well at night as the house and surrounding area were completely quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was set up in a nice room downstairs, and the spread was lovely every morning. For dinner, there’s a highly rated restaurant within walking distance. One could also take a short drive to nearby towns or to Stresa. We had a rental electric car and used a charging station 12-minutes away on the route to A26. We went to the islands, of course, and drove around Lake Maggiore, stopping at a few towns. The whole area is beautiful.

This is a wonderful B&B in a beautiful location in a small village on the mountain, accessible via small streets. With a very beautiful view of the Borromean Islands from the balcony! We were warmly welcomed by the owners, who were very helpful in booking a restaurant and choosing fun trips in the area. The breakfast was well organized. Stresa is very nice. We were there in the late season so luckily it wasn't too busy. In short, it was a great stay!

Il Poggiolo is perfectly located in Someraro, about 15 minutes by car from Stresa. The place is quiet, with beautiful old streets, it is also reachable within a walking distance from Stresa. The accommodation is extremely friendly, quiet, with a balcony offering a great view to the Lake Maggiore. Very comfortable and chic. Valeria and Andrea are perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast with home made delicacies, i.e. quiche or focaccia and also cakes. Great coffee. Will definitely come back again! Just one insider tip: do not miss the great Ristorante Il Cardini located just around the corner, near the church.

A little bit difficult to park be you can find some spots in the street or next to the road nearby. We recommand to have a car as it will be easier to go around.

Andrea and Valeria were super hosts! Me and my girlfriend very much enjoyed our stay at this cozy and beautiful B&B. Andrea gave us great recommendations on beach spots around lago maggiore and even took the liberty to book us into a great restaurant just a couple of minutes walking distance as we were arriving a little bit later in the afternoon and it being busy season it was really appreciated. Authentic and comfortable room with a stunning view over the lake from the bedroom and the bathroom. Great little breakfast as well with a selection of mortadella, salami, cheese and sweets (Panna cotta was amazing) Overall a great stay and we would recommend anyone to stay with Andrea and Valeria

Quiet location about a 10 minute drive above Stresa with fabulous views of Lake Maggiore. Comfortable clean room with patio to enjoy the views. Great friendly hosts, good breakfast with lots of choices. Had a great dinner at Cardini restaurant a short walk away. We loved our stay here.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and very nice. We had a beautiful view of Lago Maggiore.

It is a long and steep walk to Stresa and the local bus is infrequent and follows a long winding route via other small villages. Taxis can be booked instead.

Comfortable room, great bed and loved the air-conditioning. Delicious breakfast. Hosts were very friendly. While out of Stresa itself we didn’t find this an issue. Parking nearby.

Difficult to find the property. Glad the host was there to guide us the last few steps.

The view, the location and the hosts were amazing.

Shower is a bit small but was fine for us. As the hosts suggest, bringing a rental car really helps the experience.
