I stayed just one night at this hotel in Zermatt, and it was a lovely experience overall. The view of the Matterhorn from the room was absolutely beautiful — even though I didn’t catch it at sunrise, seeing the iconic peak right from the room was unforgettable. The room itself was cozy, spotless, and well-appointed. I especially appreciated the thoughtful amenities: soft cushions and warm blankets for the patio furniture made it a perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the shuttle from the train station (5 CHF/person) was a convenient touch. Breakfast was also excellent — fresh, varied, and satisfying.

One minor downside was the elevator situation. There’s only one, and it was often quite busy, especially during check-in and breakfast hours. We ended up using the stairs frequently, which was fine for us, but something to keep in mind.

Matterhorn view is fantastic. Highly recommend this. Room has some really nice and thoughtful amenities like blankets and chair covers to sit outside, a backpack for day use (not to be taken home). Check-in process is very nice where they make you sit down in the lobby or terrace, serve you a welcome drink and cashews while passports and cards get processed. Breakfast has a lot of variety and has a local and home made feel to it. Much unlike bigger hotels where things are more “big box”. The biggest difference is the staff. Each member who interacted with us during our 2 day stay was cordial, friendly and interested in our care. From the two ladies who checked us in, to the tall gentleman at the front desk( thank you for the recommendations for the two small hikes on both sides of town), to the young lady at breakfast who served us beyond the 10:30 close time and lastly the gentleman with glasses from Portugal who drives the electric car ( very attentive and thoughtful person) went above and beyond to make this a great experience .

A very high end hotel, u pay for what u get, Eg, extremely good service, good staff with 24 hrs friendly & helpful attitude. The underground wellness facilities are built just like a premium spa centre: with cold bath, sauna, aromatic water shower, gym room and massage relaxing room. All facilities are well maintained and clean. The room also look absolutely good, i lived in a matterhorn view room, the balcony view is directly the matterhorn which worth of money to stay. One improvement, probably the breakfast varieties can be increased, especially increased more on cooked meals, the only well cooked meal is scrambled egg. Others are cheesy stuff, dairy food & bakery.

Perfect. Super nice staff, with experience and good advice to help you planning your sight seeing route in lieu with the unexpected weather. Breakfast is marvelous with a la cart choice and self serve food.

10 minutes walk from train station to hotel, you may consider to take their mini car with fee in case you have a lot of luggages,

This was our second time staying here. It is a fabulous hotel with exceptional staff. The hotel is beautiful with all the carved wood. They greet you like you are family, even on our first visit. The location is great close to restaurants, shops and the train station. The free bus picks you up right under the bridge to easy access to the Matterhorn express and many other areas around. The rooms are large with all the extras you could want. The chocolate treats at days end sweeten your stay. You'll love your stay here.

Nothing was wrong with the stay. While we were there this stay, they had a terrible tragedy. The weather caused flooding and landslides. They flooded, which is devasting to them, however their first concern were their guests. They made sure we were safely out and taken to adjacent properties to get warm and then had us moved to hotels that had not been affected. All the while they were devasted what had happened to them. I'm so sorry they went through this loss. I'm sure they will rally and be better than before.

This hotel was great. Welcome drink on the terrace with stunning view of the Matterhorn. When I arrived in the room, I did not expect such a perfect view of the Matterhorn, I sat on the balcony and just looked at it in awe! Staff was terrific (Simon front desk and Manuela in the breakfast room, along with others. Amenable and caring). Incredible choice of food choices at breakfast, all beautifully served.

My reviews are far fewer and selected and only written when I have felt that it is massively deserved. Having said that: - Location: This hotel is at the end of the main shopping street, right next to the photography view point at bridge and at a calm and chilled location. - Service: Family run business have sometimes let me down, but this is beyond par, they already need another star to make them a 5 star experience, from the welcome drink to mints on the table, day pack for loan, cake at request, Breakfast food that looks more on classical Alpine and on the fancy side(Pancakes). Caring and asking about their guests and also making sure the guests are well taken care of their every needs! More than any hotel or chalets in Austria, Italy or Germany have ever done before. Rooms: They are a charm in their own, the view of Matterhorn from bed- day and night is mesmerising and unforgettable. Beds are not super comfortable, but better than Mariott in some locations. The wooden inlay brings a feeling of royal holiday! Every little thing is catered for and has unique branding highlighted. All in all, me and my wife felt that this was not money well spent, but an experience beyond what we paid for (Disclaimer: Your experiences may differ from ours based on many factors, but not due to Hotel)

September Weather- Matterhorn view was blocked for 2 of 3 days we stayed

Staff were amazing and very friendly! Especially Simon, they gave us every thing we needed, welcome drinks, and any info we might find useful for the trip. They even recommended restaurants for us and told us to choose a cuisine, which they then recommended restaurants and made the reservations for us. Rooms were big and comfortable facing the mattehorn, good view with balcony that had blankets on the seats! Service was really splendid there. Location is could very near the central Zermatt and slightly away by a few steps so its not to noisy.

We requested for rooms beside each other and booked 2 matterhorn view rooms, but initially were given beside each other, but one with no matterhorn view as there was only 1 on each floor that could fit 3 people. Understand it was a miscom and they immediately changed our rooms when we requested. Just note thatt non matterhorn view is facing a cemetery, but its not creepy or ugly at all!

The hotel is situated in the centre of Zermatt, close to the church & main square. Simon & his mother run a very good operation with great efficiency & charm. We've stayed in many hotels in Zermatt and the Hotel Allalin rooms facing the Matterhorn are among the best. Breakfast noteworthy too
