My visit to Scole Inn, Norfolk was fantastic. Everything went well. The building was amazing. The staff were just delightful, couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely relaxed and relaxing. Cleanliness was superb. The room was just lovely. The breakfast was great. I felt like I was staying in five star luxury at a very affordable price. Very good value for money. Would recommend to anyone who wants something slightly different and a bit quirky. Can't rate this highly enough.

An old coaching house set back from the main road from Diss to Norwich. Set in a quiet village with a pub 2 minutes walk away. There is ample parking on site which is set securely behind the hotel. The 'front of house' staff appeared to be just one person in the afternoon, that being George, who was excellent at juggling being on Reception, greeting guests, serving drinks and taking food orders. Very affable young man with a great work ethic and very pleasant, helpful demeanour. The kitchen serves up some good food too.

I think George could use some help ! It was a Sunday evening but the hotel was quite busy. This is a value option to stay at. A lovely building with main house and annex rooms, but looking tired and little neglected at the moment, particularly around the garden and outbuilding areas. I'd choose to stay in the main house if you can. Note: last orders for food is 8.30pm.

The room was adequate and comfortable . We only paid for the room . I felt although meals were available , the service was a bit sketchy .

It was annoying that when i arrived , even though i had stipulated , when i booked , my wife was disabled and could not manage stairs . I even spoke to a representative & requested a downstairs room. On arrival i was told that as i had booked through Booking . Com & had paid for a premier room with 4 poster bed on the first floor . The very thing id asked to avoid . The young booking clerk was helpful enough & re-arranged our booking for a basic ground floor room . He was very helpful & polite , but it was beyond his remit to offer a sweetner by way of some sort of goodwill jesture which would have been nice . The alternative room was adequate and comfortable enough.

Breakfast was excellent, well cooked with fresh ingredients. Great choice. Service was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble for the young staff. Arrived on a Sunday and had the carvery lunch. Beautifully cooked and amazing choice of meat and vegetables.

Choice of evening meals was very limited - mainly burgers. 'Pie of the day' was only once available in 4 nights. Would like to see a little more variety - including fresh vegetables.

Clean and comfortable and an ideal location for us because we have family nearby. The cooked breakfast was excellent, a wonderful scrambled eggs on toast.

I didn’t like the fact that at breakfast the coffee cups were the wrong size for the machine so the coffee spilt over, and that the only cereal on offer was Coco pops. And there was no marmalade. Saying that, the one on duty couldn’t have done more to help us and She did her best to sort everything.

Lovely staff, plentiful portions when eating in the restaurant, the communal areas are stunningly beautiful with original features dating back centuries.

Short staffed at breakfast and felt sorry for the young gentleman that was running around making sure everyone was happy and some odd couple grumbled at him because the restaurant was full and they had to wait a couple of minutes. Another member of staff on duty would of eased the pressure on him

Room was spacious, with good bathroom. Breakfast was OK, but extra cost - Eggs Benedict with bacon as they’d run out of ham the previous day. Sizeable car park (no EV chargers yet though).

No wardrobe in room, also the bed’s headboard and the dias upon which the bath was placed were both surrounded by strips of glowing blue LED light, which which I had to fumble behind the bed to switch off, otherwise they’d have lit up the entire room all night long. The bathroom door had to be kept closed all night as the window letting so much light plus they appear to be a water pump hidden behind panelling which would come on and off intermittently throughout the night.

The room was very spacious and perfect for working in. The huge open fire place would have been a massive bonus in winter. The diner was served in the bar area and the food was great. The service was a little slow because there wasn't 1 person dedicated to serving customers that were eating. But it didn't ruin the experience.

There was no signal and the wifi was a little confusing, there was a different wifi network advertised in the room to what was at reception and I could make it work to start. Once it did work it wasnt a brilliant connection.

Location is quiet and handy for other places to visit in the area ... near enough to main roads and near to Diss. The hotel is a beautiful old building. We were in the annexe which meant we had a great view of the main building's beautiful architecture. Rooms were warm, bed was comfy, bathroom had bath and over bath shower and was spacious. Tea and coffee and kettle available. Staff were friendly and helpful and personable. Bar food was excellent and well priced. The bar itself had comfy chairs round a roaring fire which was a great focal point for the room and a cosy place to spend a winter evening.

The room we were in needed: - a couple of chairs ... 2 comfy outdoor style stacking chairs would do the trick and offer flexibility. - hooks for hanging clothes on and hangers in the wardrobe - 2 keys would be helpful for w occupants

Lovely old building with character

Restaurant closes at 3.00pm which is check-in time, so if you want to check in and grab something to eat you need to wait until it reopens at 6.00 pm. When we did eat in the restaurant, fish and chip was so over cooked it was almost incinerated and inedible. Was advised that the bar closes at 11.30pm, made sure we were back before 11.00pm for a nightcap to find it closed.
