Comfortable room and excellent restaurant staff with a good range for breakfast.
Beware when booking a twin room on Booking.com that you search for the facility when booking to record that two people are occupying the room as the hotel don't assume that this is the case and there is more to pay on the day of departure from the hotel.

Excellent location. Was a bit disappointed with the room, smaller than expected and in need of updating. Mattress exceptionally firm.

Breakfast was excellent with a large choice available, both full English and Continental. Scrambled eggs available as standard, other styles cooked to order. The public rooms are an absolute delight, button back leather suites abound, large picture windows and superb stucco ceilings remind one of a stately home. The jewel in the crown is the staff, every one we came across was an absolute credit to the hotel, from the room cleaners to the dining room staff they were superb. Special mentions to both Zoe and Josh. They helped with our luggage and to find a car parking space which was a great help to someone with mobility problems. All in all it was a brilliant stay and we really enjoyed our 4 night break.
If booking again, which we probably will, I would request a room on the top floor. We were on the second, middle floor, and were woken up on several occasions by the noise of the floorboards creaking from the occupants of the room above moving about in the middle of the night. It is important to note that car parking is chargeable and has to be booked in advance- all hotels in Harrogate appear to charge extra for car parking.

On arrival we were checked in by Zoe, she was very friendly and we felt welcomed. It made a really good first impression. The location is superb. Really central and surounded by good bars, shops, cafés and restaurants. On this occasion we arrived by train so didn't need any parking but is is available for an additional fee. The room was quiet and spacious with a private bathroom with bath. We slept well. The hotel bar was quite busy in the evening. It was good to see it being used but enough seating available. Breakfast was good value with a hot and continental buffet style selection. Plenty of choice and helpful staff. Lots of tables free at 09.00 on a Saturday morning in the large, beautiful dinningroom.

Breakfast lovely and fresh in a stunning room! Plenty of choice and tasty! Reception staff friendly and helpful especially as it was a busy time and hundreds of cases in the rooms when I asked to leave mine. Like the addition of the cuddly bear on the counter and the charity bookcase in the reception. Room very cosy and comfortable with plenty tea and coffee and VERY nice biscuits! Very clean and beds to die for. I have no complaints or suggestions to change as I had everything I needed included two very nice chairs for reading in. ( I came for the Harrogate book fair so this was perfect). Definitely staying here again! My room had a little nook beside the door with a wardrobe in it. When dark I would look at that wardrobe in the dark corner and think of Narnia so perfect for this book lover!
I had everything I needed to be fair and can't think of anything else.

It’s a lovely building in a great location, the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Emily in the Place bar who stayed calm when the tills stopped working, breakfast was lovely, the executive double room was a good size, clean and with a really comfy bed, good sized bathroom with a bath and powerful, high shower (I’m 6ft 2in and struggle with the height of most showers) and it was great value for money.
It’s got great character, but some of the fittings were a little tired. The settee and bed base were well worn and could do with replacing, and a larger tv would be nice. £15 a day for parking is average for Harrogate, but paying it always grieves me, and it would have been nice to have full fat Coca Cola or Pepsi available (I’ll pay the sugar tax!)

Fabulous location. Lovely helpful staff: a specific shout out to the kind, supportive and friendly Zoe in Reception and Sean in the breakfast restaurant. Thank you! But ALL the staff should be congratulated for making it such a nice stay, from the late evening barman to the team in The Pl ace. It's a beautiful building with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and our bedroom had so much space! The buffet breakfast was great and the dining room was gorgeous. A really special hotel we felt.
The mismatched furniture in our bedroom made us smile as it was a bit dated but who cares really when it's all so clean and the comfy bed meant a great night's sleep!

We loved the wonderfully warm welcome from Francesca, a first class Receptionist, if ever there was one. The hotel's location is excellent, being only a short distance to some fabulous restaurants and shops. The Lobby and Reception area is beautiful as is the middle landing on the 2nd floor. I had let slip that we were making this trip to celebrate my retirement and two small bottles of Prosecco were waiting for us in our room. I was absolutely thrilled by this incredibly lovely gesture. The room was huge and the beds super comfy with lovely soft pillows. The bathroom had a proper window so was light and airy. I have a blue badge and was allocated a parking space right next to the front door, free of charge. If ever a hotel made me feel like royalty, it's The Crown in Harrogate 🥂🍾 Thank you!
No complaints from me about anything at all!

Such a wonderful team of friendly staff who made our anniversary stay very memorable. Can't thank you enough for the lovely touches you did to our room and the chocolates and wine. Very thoughtful that you gave us a bigger room thanks. The hotel is in a fabulous location, we have stayed in Harrogate several times and always come back for our anniversary weekend. The Crown was a great deal with breakfast included, compared to nearby hotels. The rooms are clean and basic but all we needed to explore the area. The hotel itself is lovelyvand spacious. We will definitely be returning again in future. 😊

Price for the room was good value for three adults staying there. Staff were friendly and helpful and location was excellent for what we needed. There was a great variety in choice for the breakfast with good quality.
Only real gripe was that we picked this hotel with it having parking facility. We understood that we weren’t guaranteed a spot but we weren’t told that there was a £12 parking charge! I personally do no not like prices to be hidden from my original booking and things like this leave a slight sour taste after an otherwise excellent stay. The room we stayed in was clean but possibly could do with a refresh decor wise?
