This is a pub, first and foremost, that sells a great variety of beer and ales, not ordinarily found in your everyday pub. The interior has a vast array of countryside/agri paraphernalia, posters and signs. The curious could spend hours trying to study it all. The room was just upstairs, very close to the bar/dining area. It was very comfortable with very clean sheets/towels etc. The breakfast (cereals and full English) was very tasty and cooked fresh. A great portion, too. Chris and Claude served us well.

The room was hot, but this is an old building with no A/C, obviously. It was c. 30deg C outside.

Staying at this hotel, which also serves as a pub, was a really pleasant experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a very inviting place. I don't have much else to say because everything was just great. One thing that stood out was the friendliness of the staff. They were very kind and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. I chose this hotel because of its convenient location near the Farnborough exhibition, which made my stay even more enjoyable and practical.

The only downside was the noise up until 10 p.m. due to the pub being just below the rooms. It’s not very well soundproofed, so it can get a bit noisy in the evening.

The room was much bigger, much cleaner, and much more comfortable than we were expecting. The staff were exceptionally polite and friendly, when calling to sort out arrival times, when showing us to our room, despite the pub downstairs being busy, and helping us with anything we needed. We arrived too late to eat in the restaurant, but the menu looked excellent, and the atmosphere in the pub was wonderful.

The doors are low, because the building is so old. My husband tonked his head a few times! Not the fault of the pub though!

Everything, fantastic place if I am down that way again It will be my number one choice! Chris, Steve and All the Staff were just great friendly welcoming and helpful people.

Nothing to do with The Jolly Farmer but my motorbike Battery died and even that didn't spoil the trip, it changed it but i got so much help from Chris and Steve and Jake the chef it really lifted my spirits. Thanks to them I managed to get the bike started through a recovery company and get a new battery!

The setting of where the pub is, is beautiful & there's lots of quirky wee bits around the village, the Pub has so much charm about it, it's an old place, but the way that they've kept the place to the tradition what it's meant to be is outstanding.

The mattress could have been more comfy, but apart from the small details, it's a lo Ely place to stay.

Very nice place in town. Really attractive old pub. Quiet. Had dinner and breakfast there - very good! Room a little claustrophobic, and no shower attachment, but we only slept there. Steve even gave us a lift to the local venue we had to get to - really kind. All in all very enjoyable!

Nothing really... Apart from... no, I wont.

I was going to miss the advertised check-in time so called ahead. That was no problem, I just made sure I was there with plenty of time before close. The lady behind the bar was super friendly and welcoming. The owner himself, although busy, found time for a quick chat with an inquisitive guest. Although I didn't eat there, the menu and the specials sounded great. The decor is that of a 'proper' pub, cosy and traditional. The stand-out of this place has to be the cask ales which are rotated very regularly. Myself, I took advantage of some lesser known lagers which were a great change from the standard offerings in most other places. The room was spotless and I had a great night's sleep. A good selection of drinks, soaps, shower gel and so on.

Leaving. I'll be back time and again.

A comfortable, interesting, quirky gem. Last time we came was in a lull between covid lockdowns (October 2020), so it was great to find the place had not only survived but was thriving. Our room was the same one we’d previously stayed in and was as welcoming and comfortable as we remembered with subtle improvements. The bar and dining room are stuffed with interesting antiques and everyday objects of times gone by and the walls are lined with fascinating signs, photographs, art and posters. You’d need days to peruse it all. Luckily the food was delicious enough to provide a temporary distraction. Good beer too! The staff were unobtrusively solicitous, friendly and efficient. I really couldn’t fault them. We will definitely be back.

Great shower and clean room, if a little old fashioned furniture wise, but perhaps that adds to the charm for some people. Pub is fab, good beer choice and the food looked amazing.

I wish I had reserved breakfast as it wasn't possible on the morning. They did ask me when I checked in so I can't complain.. I'd hoped to wing it in the morning but no chefs on as no-one else wanted it. So don't leave it to chance! Price wise it felt a bit on the high side. Breakfast would have been extra, 8 to 10 pounds as I recall.

We had a very enjoyable stay. We found it welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious with very pleasing decor and furnishings. The meal was great- 'the best steak I've had in a long time', and a perfectly cooked and presented chicken burger and salad.
