Unique interior, amazing service.

Seems like beds haven’t been changed for many years- even if it was comfortable, every move made sound. the smell in the room/bathroom is strong and reminiscent of an old people's home.

The location is great, the trolleybus 5 leaves right across the street. There is a lovely indoors market 500m away and a supermarket even closer. The old style decor is beautiful with old typing and sewing machines.

Hotel's bus instructions are slightly off: you cannot buy tickets in the bus anymore and the lines do not operate all the stops mentionned. The staff was unpleasant except for one. The floor carpet was dirty and smelly in the room and in the halls. I did not gather from the photos that the hotel is in fact in a (half) below street level / -1 floor.

before I arrived in Latvia I contacted the hotel enquiring if they did laundry service & very quickly they responded so first and foremost there response time was very quick, also the service from check in - check out was excellent, all the staff members were very welcoming & lovely to talk to, I paid 5 euros for a selected breakfast for 8.30am & they were very punctual and the breakfast was good selection for price, the room was clean & bathroom was very spacious P.s. It was a first hotel I've ever gone to where I had a floor squeegee to use after having a shower haha

for the price I paid for the room I would have liked to have coffee & tea to come with the room I was staying in, paying an additional 1-2 Euros for tea or coffee wasn't bad however it would have been nice to tea bags & coffee sachets along with the room

This was an excellent stay! The room was lovely, and the facilities were great. Very clean, very comfortable. The staff were also very lovely and helpful, both with facilities and with a forgotten item (thank you so much!). We were two ladies staying, and felt very safe. The parking was also perfect, we could always find a spot right in front. It really was a ten out of ten experience, and I would love to return here some time! Thank you!

The location is very suitable for those who have to be early at Riga airport. The hotel is in a quiet area near the hospital and close to the airport, so taxi services are inexpensive. Communication with the city center is convenient, the bus stop is on the other side of the street. Clean. The hotel rooms are furnished in a retro style, each containing authentic objects and preserved details of the house from the last century. Very helpful employees.

It didn't bother me, but some guests may find it important that many of the rooms are low, almost on the plinth floor.

The hotel itself was very interesting, it felt new or freshly renovated. The overall design has a rustic vibe, rooms are clean and have everything you need in them. The location itself is not touristy, but if you travel to Riga by car you will easily reach the city center in 10-15 min. and you can park your car on the same street as the hotel free of charge.

The only issue that I had was hot water related. I had to wait quite a while before the running water became warm enough to get into the shower. Since I stayed for only one night I couldn't tell whether or not this was a temporary problem. Anyway, just be patient, you'll get hot water eventually.

We really liked that rooms were themed - it’s very unique! The rooms were clean and beds comfy. They are pet friendly and in our room was good noise cancelling. The hotel staff also very friendly. For our travel purposes, the location was great (in less crowdy part of the city, not far from airport)

In twin room it was bit loud in the morning (as if someone did workout on the second floor).

Nice quiet room facing inner yard so no noise from the street. Breakfast in the room was only 5€ and it was possible to order it in our room the evening before, due to having to leave for a dog show very early next morning. It was lovely that the room location is below ground level when the weather was so hot, so it stayed rather cool. Bathroom looked quite new.

The carpet in the room has seen its best days. It also brings a bit stuffy atmosphere to the room as the lights are not that bright. It was for sure clean but just would be nicer without it.

Since there is no ''Who did you travel with'' category for 5 die hard czech and slovak ice hockey fans, I need to mention it here myself :-) It will be important later on in this review as we really enjoyed the whole world ice hockey championship to the fullest and it slighly affected our (and others) view on the whole stay. :-) Fist of all, the hotel itself exceeded our expectaions in every way. We are normally happy with just a place to sleep (or exprience alcoholic coma) with a private shower and toilet but the rooms at the hotel offered much more than this for the same price we would normally pay somewhere else.. our drinks were always cold thanks to the kitchenette which has been part of our room and included fridge freezer, cutlery and just right amount of glasses. :) Massive wardrobe came in handy too as we could hang our jerseys there to make sure they are in the best conditon every day (unlike us :D).. Long story short, the photos of rooms and hotel here on booking.com don't lie :) You can also rent a bike, order breakfast to your room or buy a jar of homemade honey as there are apparently over 20 bee hives on the hotel's roof! We wanted to try / do / see all of these things but for ,,some'' reason we got up at 11am every day and had no time left before we had to leave the hotel for another adventure. But I bet all of it would bee great too :-) The hotel area is nice too. Very quiet with a supermarket just around the corner with amazing Kult Kafe nearby too, where you can try majority of dishes from the local cuisine or cure hangover for a very, very good price. But what really stands out is the hotel staff, from the management, always smiling and helpful recepnionists to housekeepers who were doing great job too.

Amazing, sustainable and efficient place. Very cozy rooms, very clean and modest in style. Free street parking by the doors. Pets are welcome for a small fee. Riga's centre is near, but you have quiet neighborhood around you. Short ride to the airport. Check in and out is very easy. Little kitchenette might be perfect for families.

All is fine, unless you are looking for more luxurious stay.
