The colleagues at Jonas are always incredibly helpful, welcoming, friendly and professional. Providing and bringing extra pillows to my room, and allocating a room away from the main entrance where residents have a smoke - I have asthma. Having the washing machines and dryers, but also the kitchen to keep and cook food in is of amazing help. My total respect and sympathy goes to the housekeeping team who have the un-enviable task of making the beds that are fixed in place.

The following is outside of the the hotel's control, and is just a note for those who are light sleepers - Bring earplugs - Friday and Saturdays are noisier as the students return from town early a.m, and the doors to the rooms are heavy sprung - with the greatest care in the world it is often unavoidable for the doors to bang.

Everything was so clean and tidy, the shower even looked brand new. Nice and peaceful location within the student accommodation blocks. Lovely wooden table and lots of surfaces in the room to suit your needs. Good quality free breakfast!

The mattress in my room sinks in the middle unfortunately which hurt my back all night, good quality mattress though, if someone can move the mattress from feet end to head end, it might fix the problem for the next guest who's gonna stay in room 218. And it's not very sound proof so could hear the cleaning noise next door and above the ceiling quite loud around 9am, but they clean so well so I can take some noise.

Caz and Nick were already allocating a room away from the entrance and sorting out the extra pillow when I arrived at reception - I feel very humbled by the time and patience Caz, Nick and other Jonas colleagues have shown in accommodating my request given how busy they are, a huge thank you seems very inadequate. I liked that front of house team members have experienced what it's like on the housekeeping duties, Caz's empathy for the gentleman who has to make the immovable beds was great to see.

Please provide your housekeeping team with fitted sheets if possible, he never complains, and does an absolutely amazing job, total props out to him, but he only has one back and great employees such as he are very hard to find, please look after him better.

I was taken aback in the most pleasant way, as Nick had already placed the extra pillow in the room, and due to availability was able to allocate a room away from the main entrance having read my message sent with my booking. I never expect the team here to have the time to accommodate special requests but due to spinal issues and asthma the extra pillow/s and distance from smoking is wholeheartedly appreciated. Not only that, but Nick had recalled my last stay where I asked if I could use the kitchen on the floor below as it had a dining table in it, and so this time he had booked me on this floor. Nick, as with other colleagues at Jonas, are incredibly helpful, professional, and engaging, helping where and when possible. Given they are all studying and have multiple tasks at Jonas, they never gripe. Thank you Nick for being so proactive and considerate, and to the whole team at Jonas for making me feel welcome. My hat off, and respect to the housekeeping team, making the beds - which is back breaking work, but moreso here as they are accessible at one side only and fixed in place. Having the use of the washing machines and dryers, as well as the kitchen facilities makes this hotel worth every penny.

The room was comfortable, the ensuite was good and everything was clean and worked. Good light for reading in bed. Parking at the place was limited but there was plenty of free parking locally. It is a 10 minute or so walk to local shops. Great kitchen so you can store, cook and eat your own food. Breakfast was a hot drink (good coffee) and a fresh pastry - very good.

The walls are quite thin and I had a problem the first night with being woken up at 1 am with noise and again at 6 am.. (Thuds, doors closing, scraping, machine noise -maybe a hairdryer.) The fridge in the kitchen needs emptying and repairing.

The Jonas colleagues are absolutely brilliant. So patient, thoughtful, proactive, and professional. They work incredibly hard and whilst under the strain of studying and uni work. Great facilities, so handy to have the kitchen and laundry room. I know I say this regularly, but I am incredibly grateful for the extra pillows and the room allocation away from outdoor smoking areas when capacity makes it viable. The housekeeping team have the unenviable and back breaking task of changing the built-in beds, the rooms so clean and tidy.

The room was clean (if a bit dusty), and fairly comfortable, and the view was amazing. The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful - and the breakfast provided was fresh. A decent place to stay without breaking the bank. Parking is limited but on-street parking was easy to find.

It would be good to have tea and coffee in the rooms, even if guests have to use the shared kitchen. The facilities in the kitchen were not very clean and there were two cups (for the whole floor). The decor and furniture in the room was a bit worn.

A typical student 'cabin' room, with everything to hand except a kettle. Each floor has a kitchen, so no big hassle. Small double bed, which would fit two at a pinch, is comfortable. Coffee & Danish pastry breakfast collected in reception area and either consumed there or taken back to your room. Complementary hand soap, shampoo, shower gel, with nice clean towels supplied. Great to have free on-site parking. Clean, comfortable and convenient for lots of local attractions.

TV in the room was on the 'blink'. Mentioned it on checking out, so hopefully it will be fixed.

Location was great and the simplicity made staying very easy. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Bed, small for two, was comfortable enough for a night or two but it would be a struggle for much longer.

Some of the finishes were a bit tired (the soft bed head was flaking and left black “plastic” in the bed). Personally I think the listing needs to clearly state Thomas is a hostel, not a hotel. For the price the facilities were great but the listing on booking.com was confusing - states parking but it’s only on a first come first served basis (and it looked like there are less than a dozen spaces)!

Loved the university halls feel of the place. I was travelling alone and I didn't have high expectations prior to my stay due to the low price, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff are lovely, there's a restaurant/ bar in the hotel next door that you're able to utilise, a cafè on site and 24hr reception. It really was fab! A little on the small side but as I was on my own, this wasn't an issue.

Pillows were a little on the flat side but I'm being really picky. There wasn't anything else that I didn't like.
