After reading reviews I was reluctant to stay here but booked anyway because everywhere else was full. But i must say, it was actually decent for a hostel, beds were fine, no bed bugs (I checked!), the kitchen/dining space was huge and the staff were very smiley and friendly Hong Kong people. The showers were a set temperature so you just have to keep pressing the button to get a continual flow of water but I liked that the cubicle was separate to the changing area so all your stuff doesn’t get wet.

There was no parking as it was on a main road. There is a public car park right behind the hostel and it cost me 3 pounds from 6pm to 9am the following day so 15 hours, which wasn’t too bad.

This is actually a hostel where they let out individual beds. However I was looking for a room in Portree and this was the only place that had any accommodation left. I rented a room there, which had 5 beds and paid about $300 (SGD) for the whole room per night. Compared to a $300 room, this would be considered quite considering it was a barebones room with nothing but a bunch of beds, and did not even have it's own bathroom. But I guess this is the situation with accommodation in Isle of Skye, and I should have just been grateful to even get a place to stay. I guess if you really are a budget traveller and are okay to stay in a shared room with shared bathroom etc, the price per bed will be a great economical option in Isle of Skye. They also had a nice huge fully equipped shared kitchen for everyone to use, which can be a great money saver in a place like IoS, where eating out is very expensive and sometimes not even possible.

The friendly staff. The price. The large, Well equipped kitchen. Comfy beds. You can leave your bags after checkout at no additional cost.

There are too few showers for the number of guests. Only three. People can walk off the street and pay £5 cash for a shower when there is a limited supply for paying guests. The kitchen doesn't open until 6 am.

Location and price were great. Hostel is simply up the steps from town paid parking. Our extended family (4 grandparents) of eight had two rooms with shared bathrooms. The three bunk room was a little tight for 4 adults and two teenagers but managed fine. The shared kitchen was well equipped and relatively clean considering the number of guests using it. There was plenty of space and majority of people were very conscientious in cleaning up after themselves. The skillets tend to get beat up a bit but there were plenty of pots and pans to select from. We prepared our breakfasts and dinners easily. Bins and labels provided to store your stuff. Overall great hostel.

Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious kitchen with good cleanness. Great value for money. Easy access. Great location with plenty of parking spaces nearby.

Mould in the bathroom is a bit concerning. Visible dust at the ladder. But no complaints because overall it’s still quite clean and a good place for the price.

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this accommodation and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The dormitory was spacious and clean to make my stay comfortable. The bed was comfortable and provided me with a great night's sleep. The bathroom was clean. The location is perfect and it’s located at the centre of Portree and there are lots of restaurants and a supermarket nearby. The staff were friendly, professional and always willing to help you and talk with you to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. They were knowledgeable about the local area and provided me with great recommendations for places to visit during my stay. Overall, I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable stay. It truly deserves its high rating and I will definitely be returning in the future.

All the things are perfect.

Very very clean, the kitchen is a wonder, fully equiped and big enough for everyone. Staff is charming, very helpful. Well situated. Restaurant and grocery at a short walking distance. No parking, so you have to be in a public parking and go every morning at 8h sharp to pay for the day, but it was not too expensive and we didnt have any trouble leaving the car there overnight. Noisy in the room during the evening, we heard the people in the kitchen and the adjacent room, but everyone respected curfew.

Bed are uncomfortable, we felt every springs. At night the room’s door is closed, so in the morning it stank in the room, 13 people sleeping without air circulation.

Location near the car park and the center of town was great. Large community space and kitchen area was very nice. Rooms felt clean and bathrooms were about as clean as expected for hostel.

Wish the rooms had more distributed power outlets. Downstair bathroom showers had very poor drainage and were not especially hot.

Shower was luke warm. A 12 bunk dorm is never really conducive to a good night's sleep. It is also directly below the kitchen, so expect to hear some banging and creaking of floorboards when the kitchen opens.

Location is great. The kitchen is big and well stocked. The room was warm and comfortable enough as hostels go.

The dorm I was in only had two sets of outlets, none near the beds. Not enough room or coat hooks near the beds for such a wet climate.
