The best hostel I stayed at! Location was great: close to the main station and in the old town. It had very good systems in place, eg. there were stickers provided to put on your food. There were lots of pots and cutlery and the common room was very nice and big, with books and board games. Tea was complimentary and there was also a coffee machine if you wanted to buy coffee. Plenty of space in the fridges. The people in my room were very nice and respectful and I also made some friends. There were lockers assigned for each bed and you got your own key for them. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome by giving some tips on what to see. They also had a laundry service and allowed me to exchange my notes for coins. Overall everything was clean and comfortable and the hostel had a great atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone!

Sometimes bathrooms weren't the cleanest, the floor was all wet in the evenings. Also it was the first time ever I had to put on the bedsheets by myself in a hostel which can be awkward especially for top bunks

The hostel was located right in the heart of the old town, making it super convenient for getting around. The train station was just a short walk away, which made traveling even easier. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and as it was my first time both traveling solo and staying in a hostel, I was naturally a bit nervous. But the staff made me feel incredibly welcome and at ease. The common room was spacious and inviting, and the whole place had a relaxed, friendly vibe. I’d definitely give it a 10/10 and highly recommend it to other travelers!

If I had to point out one downside, it would be that there was only one women’s washroom and two shower stalls on the floor. While they were always clean, it could get a bit crowded during peak times like in the morning or around check-out. It wasn’t a big issue, but something to keep in mind if you're someone who prefers a bit more privacy or hates waiting.

Incredible location in the heart of the city centre, and the private rooms are also pretty spacious. Toilets and showers were also pretty clean, but the big plus is the sink in the private room, allowing us to brush our teeth and get ready with our own privacy, a rarity in a hostel, even for common rooms! Do take note that there's also a free public transit pass with the hostel, take that into account when checking in (and the staff were also really nice as well).

The price. I know, it's Switzerland, it's unavoidable, but this was still an eye-watering price for a single night.

Bus stop across the street. Main train station a 10 min walk. Kitchen was clean, and had everything needed to make meals. 2 kinds of breakfast cereal and milk provided at no charge. Free tea, and coffee available for a small fee. Staff at reception were wonderful. I would stay there again

No lift from ground level to reception on second level. A few more stairs to reach lift. Helpful staff carried my luggage to/from ground level. Room was very bare, and private room with shower was more expensive than another hotel where I stayed in Bern. The mattress was not very comfortable, it had a saggy middle

Location absolutely perfect for everything in Bern. This is hostel accommodation, not a hotel or B&B. The accommodation is therefore basic and what you would expect for low cost accommodation…….BUT, everything is very well organized. The kitchen facility is extensive and spotlessly clean. The common room is spacious. The lady on reception was so friendly and helpful and seemed to us to love her job of helping people. A bonus that we didn’t expect was complimentary breakfast cereal and milk provided in the common room in the morning. Bearing in mind the nature of the accommodation, we could not fault it.

Staff were helpful and friendly, free breakfast of cereal/ granola with milk provided, good kitchen and convenient laundry facilities, comfortable common room, lots of real plants well tended.

There is nothing the hostel can do about this but anyone considering a stay should be aware that there is enthusiastic partying going on outside into the wee hours of the morning. The front desk does have free earplugs, and it’s the price you pay for a location smack in the middle of the old city.

The staff were very kind and accommodating. The dorm room, bathrooms, and showers were very clean and comfortable. The kitchen space was also regularly cleaned. A fan was provided for the room as it was very hot, which helped a lot. I would absolutely stay here again.

As it is right next to a busy street, it can be noisy at night. Of course, this is out of the hostel's control so this is more of a heads up to maybe bring earplugs if you have trouble sleeping with noise.

The location was amazing, right in the center of the old city. We loved the lounge and the kitchen. There were even things like rice, pasta and spices provided. It was also nice to be able to do laundry. The room itself was fine, the bathroom and toilets were close to the room.

Could be better maintained and cleaned.

Having a kitchen was a huge bonus as I was able to cook my meals. The facility have a big living/family space to dine in and social hang out. Both the kitchen and the social space created opportunity for travelers to meet up and connected. I feel safe staying at this place because the main space and main door requires key access during after hours.

The noise from the surrounding bar/restaurant can be quite loud during the weekend. It can be tough trying to fall asleep at night. Since we have to share the space with other travelers, the room can be stuffy with unpleasant odors sometimes but having the windows could help but then the street noise factor. :-)

I like to property because its so clean, nice staff, most of the tourist spot are near to go by bus or by walk. And also they have a free ticket to ride a bus and Tram. The common kitchen are clean.. we are satisfied and happy to stay in Bern Backpackers for 3 nights .. if we will be back again in Bern i will Chose again the Bern Backpackers Hotel Glocke... we love Bern and we enjoy so much... This trip is my husband mother's day gifts to me and i love it ... 😊😍 ...
