On arrival, to check in, room wasn't ready even though it was after 3pm and I'd advised I'd be arriving at that time. Staff member on reception did not direct me to cafe, lounge or bar, or offer cup of tea or drink. Nothing. I had to ask myself if it was ok for me to wait in lounge area. After that she walked passed me a couple of times and offered no update or any refreshments or to direct me to bar.... missed sales opportunities. However she was perfectly fine when I did go back to desk to ask and provided sufficient check in info....friendly and nice. Later had drink in beer garden and meal in Amore which was lovely and all staff there were fantastic.

We stayed here to be as close as possible to my friends wedding venue. (Marshall meadows) around 7 minute drive. The staff were lovely and very helpful, we arrived earlier than the check in time and they got us into our room earlier so we were able to leave everything in our room and go straight to the wedding. Really good location in the town centre.

The only thing I could say which isn't about the hotel is that the taxis in the area were busy when we tried to book, so book in advance if needing a taxi (it was school run at the time we had difficulty however)

The hotel occupies prime location. The room was fine. Bed comfy. Bathroom large and clean. Shower decent. Reception staff had an issue with key card, but resolved quickly. We ate in the Amore restaurant in the hotel both nights of our stay. The food was excellent despite the slightly below par staff. There was no chance to purchase additional drinks, despite the 2 courses we enjoyed. The breakdast room was pleasant. Breakdast was excellent, hot and served by a keen lady. There was plenty of option including gluten free.

I think the hotel should sell the parking discs required to park outside. The ladies waiting on could be keener to serve.

when possible, this is my go to hotel in Berwick, located on 1st floor ideal location for town and river/sea front. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Didnt do refreshment. Note there was an issue with the sink bad drainage, which was sorted and though I opted out of room being serviced, it only took a couple of days and there was always enough milk cartons. Plenty of plug sockets, includng either side of the bed.

Very little, Whilst I do not think the room was worth £100k per night, it was an upgrade, that is not what you are paying for, so in the end, no quibbles, though was a little disappointed no bath in the room, but good shower anyway.

Lovely room, beautifully furnished, very clean and comfortable, and the Italian restaurant was good - good food at reasonable prices. The decor was attractive and the whole place had been very nicely designed.

The bedroom was very noisy as it looked out onto the main high street and had no double glazing (primary or secondary). The window also had a small hole in it! The noise through the night was very disturbing - lots of shouting and sounded like fighting on and off until 1am. Needs to be some double glazing fitted.

Lovely old building. Great location for us. Parking was easy just diwn the road for overnight, or short spells just outside. First room had no heating, so we were quickly upgraded to another room. This room was much nicer and obviously much newer with regards to decor and furnishings. Staff, all but 1, were very good, friendly, and helpful. Plenty of choice for breakfast, had a nice meal in the restaurant.

The first room was tired/ dated and had no heating, but they'd assumed a little plug in heater would be enough? The whole building must have had a big leak problem at some time, and there was lots of evidence of this on ceilings, but especially in the breakfast room - big damp patches, flaking paint, mould patches on ceiling and walls. I think this room needs to be a priority for treatment and redecoration. One of the breakfast staff was obviously not loving her job.... showed no interest, unhelpful, dropped food and utensils on floor but didn't clean it up, etc

The location and the look of the hotel

The room size for what we paid,the fact no lock on the door,we asked other guests, and they said the same,they must have problems with guests as this is the first time we have ever seen a price list for goods if you damage them from sheets to window panes, it is advisable that you take pictures of your room as our room had a bit of damage, stains on carpet marks on the walls, also we like to relaxation night and the TV was small and difficult to see once is bed as it was a distance away.

I loved the location, the staff were brilliant so pleasant and helpful. It is a beautiful place inside. The bed was so comfortable and the room was lovely and warm. Although I have a couple of dislikes I would definitely stay here again.

The floor outside the bathroom door had obviously been wet which resulted in the laminate starting to lift. The mirror in the bathroom didn't light up (the wires were cut behind it) the peddle bin would not work with your foot so you had to bend down and open with your hands. We went for breakfast at 9.30 which is 15.95 each there was no white bread for toast and toaster was so hot it burned what bread we did put in. No hot water to refill my tea and only half a cup of coffee in percolator so the lad went into another room and brought us two coffees. I really don't think the breakfast was value for money.

Lovely hotel, very comfortable and spacious, nice to be able to relax in the lounge and bar on an evening. Staff all super friendly and helpful, they looked after us well and made it a special trip. L'Amore restaurant food was superb.

Shower curtain broke but excellent service and they responded immediately when we mentioned it. Also, the seagull's are soooo loud at night!!!! Can't be helped given the location and tbh it's just funny, but if you're staying bring ear plugs with you!!! Also friday and saturday night the bar next door can get loud, so again, ear plugs needed if you're not in the bar and want to sleep! ;)

Our host was very personable and kind. He recommended a small 80-seat theater in town where we did end up going and had a fabulous time! If you want a non-Shakespeare play to enjoy, we highly recommend it. ...jut can't remember the name of the theater. The inn is located within a long walking distance (.5 to 1 mile) from town. The breakfast choices were great, and could be made-to-order. Tea and coffee in the room.

There are two rooms upstairs, and one downstairs. We were upstairs, and the guests across from us came in drunk at 2am. They were talking very loud and one was throwing up for at least 20 minutes. Needless to say, we didn't get a good night's sleep, and didn't enjoy hearing everything that was going on 2 feet across the hall. The guests in the room downstairs would be under the guests upstairs, so I'm sure they heard everything, as well.
