The location is fantastic: in the old part of town, within a short walking distance from the Central Market and the Cathedral. The attic room we booked was excellent: relatively large, with plenty of light, and a very comfortable bed. The sound-proofing was excellent, particularly considering that the street where the hotel is located has quite a lively and loud nightlife. The staff was super helpful and welcoming. The breakfast options were excellent and well priced.

I struggled with wi-fi at times (as I did last time I was there back in 2017). The windows were hard to open (we gave up trying to avoid the risk of damage) so we couldn't get any natural ventilation in the room, which made the room a bit stuffy. The lack of instructions on how to use the spa bath made for a very frustrating trial and error approach until we managed to make it work. The sense that maintenance is not a priority gives the impression of a once exceptional hotel gradually losing its sparkle. Still, this is one of the best hotels in the old quarter of Santiago de Compostela.

Very central location, around a 5-8 minute walk to the Cathedral. Welcoming and friendly staff, always ready to help out. Room was very clean and well functioning. I particularly enjoyed the enclosed private balcony~ it was nice to sit there on a rainy day.

I would have liked an electric kettle in my room. It wasn't so much a problem for me, but just to be aware that reception is not 24/7 and there is no phone in the room. Also, I could often hear those above me or in neighbouring rooms so I used ear plugs at night.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I enjoyed a restful night's sleep every evening. The hotel itself was meticulously clean and well-maintained, adding to the overall comfort and relaxation of our visit The hosts were attentive and friendly, providing top-notch service throughout our stay. Not only did they accommodate our early arrival by securely storing our bags until check-in time, but they also offered warm hospitality. The nearby launderette, just a short 2-minute walk away, proved to be a lifesaver after the long hike. The hotel's proximity to great bars and restaurants was also a bonus, and we enjoyed exploring the local area. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to fellow pilgrims and travelers alike. The combination of comfortable accommodations, excellent service, and convenient amenities made for a truly wonderful stay. I would definitely stay again!

It was very central to everything that Santiago de Compostela offers. I had one of the Loft Spa rooms with the jetted tub, and it was heavenly with the colors turning while the bubbles soothed my aching muscles. It has an elevator, but as I just finished walking the Camino de Santiago, I opted for the stairs. Also a 20-minute chair massager which was very relaxing and fancy is a part of the hotel stay. I highly recommend staying here! The room comes with a mini fridge that is a perfect size for putting a few items in as well as a safe. It also had a smart TV so I was able to log into my streaming services.

I cannot think of one thing that I didn't like!

This was our second stay at Casas Reais, and we enjoyed it as much as our first. There was a strange occurrence, however, on our first night (Saturday). A loud mechanical noise started around midnight and lasted about an hour. (We realize that folks are still socializing at midnight in Spain, but some of us don't last that long anymore!) It was so disturbing that I got up to try to find the source of the noise. I heard it on all of the floors but couldn't locate it.

This is a beautiful little hotel at the border of the old and new town, right where pilgrims walk past as they complete or continue their caminos. There is a laundromat 30 seconds away and food is also that close. My accommodation on the top floor was bright and airy, with a spa tub, hair dryer, giant TV, sitting and desk area. If you get a top floor room, BE CAREFUL - the ceilings are angled and low, so bumping your head is almost guaranteed. This room had 3-4 skylights which opened for air flow and great views, plus an air conditioner (that I didn't need to use in early Oct of 2024). I loved the room so much though, I booked an additional night. In case it help when viewing the photos, my room was 41.

It was raining a lot so my towel was always wet. I would have appreciated an additional or a dry towel. In the interest of full disclosure, I bet I could have gotten one if I'd asked! Also, there are towel warmers in the bathroom!!

The room was well presented and a good standard, very clean and was well equipped (smart TV, power shower, AC etc). The staff were very friendly and helpful, helping us book a taxi and taking care of our luggage etc.

A minor issue and this wouldn't put me off staying there again, the room had an old balcony area converted to be part of the room, but it had an odd set of double doors which meant you couldn't close the doors properly during the day if you wanted sunlight but some privacy. The doors had to stay ajar which meant the room became a bit cramped when walking around the bed - basically the door set up is poorly designed.

The service was impeccable. Both workers who we dealt with gave great recommendations and helped us with our luggage. The woman who checked us in and out was super nice and helpful. The man who was in charge of breakfast was so accommodating. Breakfast was great and the rooms were so clean, with the balcony offering a great view of fireworks and a refreshing breeze and view of pilgrims walking into the old city!

The location - only a five minute walk from the cathedral. Loads of restaurants and coffee shops outside the front door. Although it is centrally located it was very peaceful at night / no street noise . The staff were super helpful and efficient. I have a specific dietary restriction and at breakfast they could not do enough for me - really appreciated their efforts.

Only one challenge and that was NOT with the property but with the Booking mobile app. The mobile app gave me an incorrect address for the property. Same street but an address number that did not exist. Luckily for a staff member from the hotel saw me wandering up and down the street looking for the hotel and came out to ask if they could help me. The Booking.com mobile app game the address as # 40 . This address is directly opposite the entrance of the hotel. Very confusing and annoying.

Casas Reals Boutique is a real bargain - several fully equipped small apartments on a small attractive and quiet courtyard in an small imaginative development, with easy access and great communication,, a short Uber ride from downtown - a real oasis in a residential neighborhood near a large park (a walk up and down some hills from the bus depot)

Don't expect restaurants or stores nearby, just a great value stay in Porto
