This was my second visit - I'd stayed here in 2023 and was happy to come back. The location couldn't be more convenient. There's no food options at the hostel and no bar but there are guest kitchen facilities if you want to self cater and reception sells 50cl cans of cold beer for 2eu.obe of the five lockers in the room didn't have a door which meant I couldn't lock up my valuables the first night. After someone checked out the following morning I took over a lockable locker. Some reviews I've read are highly critical but I was quite happy - it's what it says it is, it's a hostel not a hotel.

Honestly, amazing place. I moved there from hostel mandarinka. The difference is staggering. Mandarinca is very modern and reasonably comfortable but they made a clever and well calculated effort to design the place to squeeze in as many people as possible whereas in Homer hostel the place is almost unchanged compared to when it was designed for families. The building is old, possibly centuries old, and beautiful. There are paintings on the ceiling in the dormitories, at least some of the dormitories, and though these paintings are dilapidated, their original beauty still shines through. I also liked the fact that some of the bathrooms are extremely spacious. They had a huge bathtub in one of the bathrooms. Very uncommon for a hostel. In another building they have a very spacious kitchen and common area with lovely vegetation. It's a great place. What can I say. I was reluctant to write this review as honestly as I am writing now because I wanted to keep the place a secret... Just in case I might want to go back there and didn't want the place to be swarming with people. But that is silly. This review will probably have almost no impact. Furthermore, I now have my own apartment in Prague and intend to live here for a while, so it is unlikely I will return to this hostel or any hostel in the city. Thank you for reading. The hostel is in a beautiful old building, right in the center of the old town of Prague. It's a very busy street, especially at night, but the windows in our room canceled the noise out perfectly, so we slept well (if we were staying here in the summer with the windows open though, I think that would have been a different experience...). The double room was spacious, with shelves and hangers, nice carpets and a small heater that provided enough warmth. The bed was quite comfortable, the sheets were clean. The kitchen seemed well equipped, though we only used it to make some tea in the mornings&evenings. Overall, it was a good place to spend a few nights at. The staff at the reception were very nice to us and they explained everything in detail (which key is for which gate/door, where the common bathrooms were, etc).

There were two common bathrooms close to our room, one was proper and clean, but the other one was always filthy and in a bad state. Of course this is not the hostel's fault, it depends entirely on the guests who use it. On our first night, there were quite a lot of people making noise late at night in the common room next to our room, that was a bit annoying but again, not the hostel's fault. It's what youth hostels are like. Our room was not the cleanest, the shelves and the corners were covered in dust, but that's not a huge issue, just mentioning it so maybe the staff can make arrangements to be a bit more thorough in this aspect.

Great location like two/three minutes walk to the old square This is the biggest room I've lived in a hostel, It's actually astonishing how a room of more than 10people can be so quiet generally. During three nights here i slept very well though I have prepared to bear some noise. I chose the bed that's farthest to the door. Toilet/washing room is clean and I never waited for other people when i wanted to use Kitchen well equipped with dining table inside the big room. Strongly recommend!

Location is perfect. 5 minutes walk from Old Town Square. The hostel is in a very old building (Renaissance, I think), which gives it a great charming atmosphere. It is located in a very old street. Staff was always friendly n helpful. Also good to have a night receptionist when needed. It didn't take long to get used to walking up 3 flights of stairs. The room I stayed in had 6 normal beds - no bunk beds, which made them more comfortable. The front door is a bit fiddly to open, but I figured it out after a time. All in all I really enjoyed my stay n would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Prague.

There could have been more bathrooms, though I accept that there probably isn't the space for them in such an old building. Not a big deal.

The hostel is located in the Old Town main district. It's a 2 minutes walk from Astronomical Clock. The room is big that can accommodate 16 people with their 8 bunkbeds inside. The cleanliness of the toilet was well maintained. The lady cleaning the room always checks the cleanliness of the room and the toilet.

The door is right straight in front once you enter the building but It is a bit confusing for the first-timer to find the main door up to the hotel reception.

I booked a room with 15 guests, but when I arrived they put me in a room with only 5 guests like an upgrade which was very comforting and satisfactory since it was my first stay ever in a hostel. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable. Toilet was always clean and coffee machine was wonderfully suited for early morning coffee before hitting the road for sightseeing. Room was also vintage with an amazing view and lovely windows; I took a thousand pictures :) Location was perfectly set near Old Town Square that I saw the astronomical clock show every day. Smoking area terrace was also a good resolution, especially in cold Christmas time; not having to climb down all stairs to have a smoke. Reception staff was friendly and helpful at late check in and early check out.

This was the first destination I got to in Europe. Unfortunately, I could not see the hostel's name because it's written on the side of the gate and I spent around 30 min trying to find the hostel, although it was correctly marked on GPS. I would recommend lightening hostel's name or writing it upfront. Although the receptionist was helpful enough to open the gate after 12 am, she opened it slightly so I still could not see the door and it was terrifying.

My second time in this hostel and I would stay again! It is a perfect hostel if you are travelling with a friend or two:) Spaceous rooms with comfy beds. Perfect locationd for a tourist! Bathrooms were clean. Kitchen had good equipmnet and lots of spices.

Kitchen was quite dirty. In the morning i had to wait over half hour to get to the toilet (couldbe more toilets). It is not a super social hostel but everyone was friendly.

Price and location.

Bunk beds make a lot of noise, they need to be oiled. Locker (12 mix room No. 4), is in bad conditions.

The location was very good. Any places you want to visit including the shopping also, are at walkable distance. Even the central bus station was also within reach. The people working there were very helpful. Overall in Prague I found people go extra miles to help a tourist.

As it is a old building there is no lift. But it was expected. They have a luggage storage room. But it was mentioned that they do not have any responsibility of the baggage left at storage room.
