- once you pass the gate you feel like entering a castle - the parking area was incredible and convenient - room service was very good - premises was truly fascinating and cozy - application of the tv was ok - the backyard was the highlight of the hotel with - - - incredible pool view and nice cafe-like area (although no one was there to get any orders) was so calming and heart warming - staff were professional and welcoming

- one of the espresso cups was a little dirty could’ve been avoided - elevator was a little slow - the chairs in the junior suite were not comfortable - location is a little far away from the main action - the lobby is a bit small - breakfast area or internal breakfast area is a bit small - tv channels weren’t functioning

This lovely property was a delight to experience. The spa was beautiful and the property was architecturally perfection.

A real castle, great design, delicious breakfasts, good service, excellent spa area, location near the center (5 minutes walk), close to the cable car, hiking area nearby.

- The water in the pool is cold, but the spa area has a large outdoor jacuzzi with warm water. - The finishing in the room was not ideal. For example, the solution to the lack of baseboards at the junction of the wall and floor requires fine work, which was not done. - The very rich selection of bathroom kits did not include toothpaste.

Second stay here and it just keeps getting better! They added a full bar since our last visit in 2022 The hotel has one of the sexiest vibes of any hotel we’ve stayed in. It’s an old castle that’s been fully modernized and restored. Absolutely stunning gorgeous. Staff is amazing and attend to your every need. We used the bikes to get to the local weight lifting gym. The cable car is only a 5 minute walk and is well worth it. Great spa facilities too!

Castel Hortenberg was for us a serendipitous stop on a drive south to Tuscany. From the welcome at reception, our trip to the Archaeological Museum, an elegantly served dinner, a comfortable night's rest to a delicious cornucopia of a breakfast everything was a delight. The hotel is quiet, tucked away above Bolzano, the staff friendly and helpful the facilities excellent and the parking secure and private.

Nothing. There were road works, which made it hard to reach the hotel - but that is certainly not a fault of the management.

Primarily the staff were excellent and particularly the service of Samir made our stay. The hotel has an internal restaurant set in a beautiful stone wall cellar and the food was terrific. The hotel has great facilities including a gym, spa and heated pool and the gardens are beautiful and well kept. Our room was set in one of the castle towers and had gorgeous mountainside views as well as offering very comfortable accommodation. Will absolutely stay again.

The hotel is incredibly comfortable and luxurious, with an elegant atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to assist. The location is perfect, and the spacious rooms make you feel right at home.

There isn’t much privacy in the shower area since it’s open to the room. Additionally, while the breakfast buffet was good, we weren’t informed in advance that there was an extra charge for ordering hot items. It would have been better to notify guests about this policy before placing orders.

The stay at the hotel was exceptional. They upgraded our room from a standard room to a suite because we informed the hotel staff that we were coming for a honeymoon vacation. The room was clean and tidy. The pool and spa area is pleasant, clean and fun. We had dinner in the hotel's restaurant which is in the basement of the hotel which is actually a renovated castle. It was a special experience thanks to the look of the restaurant and the delicious food. highly recommend!

The hotel is built on the foundation of a 500-year-old castle, but the interior is very modern and tasteful. All the decorations and designs are like works of art. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable bedding, and the quality of the amenities is excellent. From the windows, you can see cable cars and beautiful mountain views. The hotel staff are very professional and friendly, eager to assist you with anything you need. Here, you are truly treated like a valued guest. The hotel's restaurant, located in the cellar, is very charming. The dishes are delicious and the prices are pleasantly surprising. The hotel's spa area is very well-equipped and comfortable. After a day of hiking, indulging in the sauna and steam room truly washes away the day's fatigue!

Very attentive, knowledgeable & friendly staff. Very clean & charming. I can only describe our stay as magical. Nice breakfast, beautiful property. The attention to detail was phenomenal! If you are lucky enough to travel to Bolzano, you must stay at the Castel.
