Great staff. Lovely spa.

The breakfast was brilliant but... We got served avocado and Salmon on cheap sliced bread... Everything else was perfect but this was so out of place. There is nothing romantic about a cheap slice of toast. I went out of the hotel and there were chavs in tracksuits fighting in the bars so I abandoned my pint and went back to the hotel.

The Spa and facilities were excellent. I enjoyed the lap pool and jacuzzi in the Spa each day (except Monday, when they close for some time to do a deep clean). I also had two Spa treatments, a superb aromatherapy facial and fantastic pedicure. The breakfasts were very good and the brasserie meals were excellent, with good wines and cocktails available. Staff were very helpful.

Our room was described as cosy, which means not much space around the large bed, so not enough space for a sofa or soft chair. Due to the different levels of the outside ground and interior old buildings, there are numerous stairs, which was challenging at times.

Absolutely stunning spa and outdoor terrace area. Best I’ve been to and would love to come back and visit again. I opted to stay in one of the non refurbished rooms as the price difference was quite a leap up. But if I was to stay again I would spend more and prefer a newer room as this was the only thing letting down my stay. The staff onsite were lovely and very welcoming and the location was excellent to the local quay.

I thought asking customers off season to pay £15 for parking per day when the car park was empty wasn’t very good and is the only reason it doesn’t get a 10/10. I’ve stayed in city centre car parks for less overnight than this rate. Not many other spa hotels charge you for this.

We went on one of the hottest weekends so it felt like we were abroad in the gardens on sun beds by the pool. The terrace was lovely to retire to for evening cocktail after sunbathing. Staff always helpful and drink service was available from the spa to the poolside. We didn’t eat at hotel as had other plans so I cannot comment on food. The location is within walking distance to the harbour with all the restaurants and bars so lovely atmosphere with all the boats yachts and live music. Hotel contemporary and spa was lovely very clean. Very quiet as most people outside.

The charge for car parking. I except that in cities you pay as many hotels have limited parking and you have to utilise the public car parks but this hotel has two of its own large car parks and could not see why they was a additional cost under these circumstances.

All of the staff at Lincombe hall were welcoming and friendly. Through the stay we had breakfast included which was made using quality ingredients. We chose to have dinner on both nights of our stay, each meal was fantastic. A great range of options and the chef clearly loves what they do! With the great weather it was fantastic to have an outdoor pool, it felt like you were on holiday abroad. Use of the spa facilities were included and they were really modern and clean from the changing rooms to the thermal rooms. Truly relaxing in the spa. It was also nice to have robes and towels provided in the rooms ready to wear down to the spa. The rooms had very comfy beds and pillows. Also, given the hot weather it was really nice to have air conditioning and have control of this to have the room set how you like.

We stayed in a cosy king room. This room was a suitable size for a few nights but I would stay in a bigger room if we returned. The room was not soundproof at all which in the morning was disruptive. The window faced a fire exit which meant a light shone through the edges of the blinds through the night which was a nuisance as a light sleeper.

My husband and I had one of the most wonderful long weekend break. The property is truly breathtaking and whoever carried out the interior design for the place should be commended. The customer service from the staff at the hotel was excellent. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. The spa is INCREDIBLE - so well thought out. Dyson hair dryers, GHDs and such incredible facilities. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Home made sausages - cooked to perfection. Poached eggs, yum. The lunch menu was also delightful, I highly recommend the crayfish salad. However, there are lots of alternative restaurants available locally, including the Thai restaurant called Jun Jaow, we ate there twice. Remarkable food and very reasonably priced, with such friendly welcoming staff. Ultimately we had a heavenly stay - we would go back in a heartbeat.

Charging to park your car when you’ve paid for a room and are staying as a resident is excessive in my opinion. I think an alternative solution could be considered rather than charging the hotel guests or at least lower the charge. 2 for £20 cocktail happy 2 hours felt a little bit cheeky, particularly given the measures of alcohol if drinking outside around the pool. The offer didn’t really feel like you were gaining much considering a single cocktail ranges from £12. Saving approx, £4. The air conditioning needs to be turned on in the morning where the breakfast is served, particularly in the summer months. A lot of people were complaining of it being too warm.

The facilities are excellent. The spa is spotless and well equipped, the ice room and himalayan salt room make it go beyond standard spa facilities. It never felt crowded and I spent quite a bit of time in there. You can order drinks to your lounger chair which was a nice feature. The hours of the spa are very flexible as well, overall 10/10 for the spa and I would consider booking again just for the spa. The bar and lounge were stylishly decorated and although grand, I still felt comfortable sitting on my own as I was travelling solo. Staff were super nice, friendly but not overbearing. The outdoor pool and grounds looked very nice but I didn't get a chance to try them. Breakfast was of a very good standard and plentiful choice.

Apart from breakfast I thought the food and drink could be a bit better. The pina colada (£13.50 incl service) I ordered was a little bland/watery and the smoothies you can get at breakfast were a little lacking zing (they possibly buy them in i.e. innocent smoothie). I had dinner at the hotel one night, fish and triple fried chips which I found a tad oily.

This hotel is well worth the money . Impeccably presented, spotless everywhere the care that is taken by staff is clear from the moment you check in. Warm greeting and welcome sets the tone.for the stay. Spa is amazing! Facilities are excellent and nice touch to be able to order drinks and have them by the pool. Room was large, comfortable and well appointed. Decor lovely. Temple spa products in ensuite bathroom which added a touch of luxury. Breakfast choice was excellent and the atmosphere relaxed. Lots of hot and cold choice of breakfast food. Didn't get to try the brasserie as spent evening in the spa! Grounds are also well kept and clean. This hotel and it's staff are well worth the 4 stars indeed. The service and ambiance was better than some 5 star hotels I have stayed in. Would definitely return as found this to be a soulful relaxing break indeed.
