It is operated by owners and staff who are friendly . The breakfast for a solo traveller is great because people often sit at a large table meaning you can meet other guests . There are also private tables . English breakfast or yogurt muesli enough to keep you going till supper. It faces the ocean is about a 20 minute walk to waterfront.area .There is a restaurant Lilys 100 meters away which is reasonable. I felt safe loved it here. Not an expensive uber ride to central Capetown.beautifully furnished large rooms .

Paul and Tania were excellent hosts. The decor in the public spaces reflects their eclectic travel tastes and provided a great relief from the usual sterile experience. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order. The location is superb, close to Green Point, Seapoint and the V&A Waterfront with Camps Bay just a short drive away. Long walks on the seafront promenade were certainly the order of the day!

Unfortunately, the room we had was quite cramped, particularly the bathroom/toilet area. Other rooms do have more space so it's wise to check on allocation when booking.

We only stayed one night at this charming boutique guesthouse before moving to our other accommodations nearby, and we were genuinely disappointed that we couldn't stay longer. The location is perfect—right by the promenade, allowing you to step outside into the refreshing sea breeze. Although we didn’t see Karen and her team until breakfast, their care and attention were evident in every detail throughout our stay. The after-hours check-in was seamless, with clear instructions provided, ensuring a stress-free arrival. The room was comfortable and beautifully maintained, but the real highlight was breakfast. Easily a 10/10, it featured fresh, local ingredients and was perfectly prepared to start our day on a high note. The relaxed atmosphere, paired with the wonderful hospitality, made it feel like a home away from home. This place is a hidden gem—peaceful and ideally located for both relaxation and exploration. We left with the firm intention of returning for a longer stay in the future.

During our trip to Cape Town we stayed 10 nights at 'Dolphin Inn Guest House'. We received a friendly welcome and our room was in tip top condition. Spacious and very neat. The bathroom was also in excellent condition. Breakfast was provided by the friendly hostess Karen. There is no shortage of travel information, you can look at numerous books and guides in the cozy reading corner with a glass of South African wine. The stay at 'Dolphin Inn Guest House' had absolutely everything we expected: good location, view of the ocean, nice atmosphere. Very friendly hostess! Definitely recommended for those who want to visit Cape Town.

The guesthouse is located in a prime location just steps from the ocean. There is a beautiful park in the back of the property and in the front is the promenade where you will see people walking and jogging. There are many food places near by within walking distance. Karen, guesthouse manager, is a wonderful lady that is very actively involved in making all her guests comfortable. I personally like the dining area which overlooks the ocean and was a gathering place for guests at the end of the day to chat with each other and unwind from their busy day. I would definitely go back to this place and highly recommend it to others.

My four night stay at Dolphin Inn Guesthouse exceeded my expectations. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hot breakfast was delicious, and the morning spread included fresh fruit, yogart, and good coffee, which were all my favorites :-). Pictures of the establishment are accurately shown. There's a beautiful view of the beach from the front window. The bedroom where I stayed offered a lovely view of Lions Head Mountain. The location is perfect with the beach right across the street, restaurants, coffee shops, V&A Waterfront, and Mojo Market, all in walking distance. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return if I'm ever in Capetown again.

Cosy and “feel like home” place. Karen took good care of us and made our stay as pleasant as it could be! In the morning we were welcomed by delicious breakfast. She recommended us plenty of good restaurants in the neighborhood, all we have tried were delish! Room was bright and cosy, was impeccably cleaned daily. Accommodation is located next to sea promenade, perfect place for a morning walk or run. If we have a chance to go back to Capetown, will definitely stay at Karen’s.

My stay felt like as if I was visiting family! The hosts, Paul and Tania were so friendly and hospitable and made me feel at “home”. I miss the chats and laughs. Room decor stunning, size great and has everything you need. Miss sitting at the counter in lounge area, open sliding window overlooking the ocean with my breakfast and hot coffee! Breakfast is divine!

Everything is perfect

Karen was the most welcoming friendly accommodating host we've encountered in a long time. One of our rooms was ready early. We joined a large group of our friends who were already staying there and she accommodated us perfectly. The breakfast was next level, hand-made hot and delicious. I can't recommend The Dolphin Inn highly enough. A home-away-from-home type of accommodation

The staff/managers are exceptional individuals. Very warm and welcoming. It is truly like an 'inn', except with all the modern amenities. The location is simply out of the world. Right on Beach Road, facing the beach. The waterfront is reachable by walk and the entire area is very safe (something you can't take for granted in SA) The rooms are cozy, have most of the amenities one might expect, and the common area is nice too, with a great view. Breakfast was nice and homely.

The rooms could be slightly bigger in size. If you're a couple that prefers a roomy space, you might find it a tad bit congested. But they do have different rooms of different sizes, perhaps we chose the smaller one The bathroom in our room did not have a door. Given the small size of the overall room, this posed a little bit of a privacy issue
