I had a wonderful stay during my weekend solo getaway in Cape Town, and this hotel in Green Point exceeded my expectations. The location is absolutely perfect nestled in a quiet, leafy neighborhood yet just a short drive to the V&A Waterfront, Sea Point Promenade, and trendy cafés and restaurants. What really stood out was the delicious breakfast served every morning fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was the perfect way to start the day before heading out to explore the city. The atmosphere around the hotel was peaceful. I felt safe, well taken care of, and completely at ease throughout my stay. Highly recommend this spot for solo travelers or anyone looking for a quiet escape in a central, scenic part of Cape Town.

The King Room with Balcony is just beyond words. It was amazing the bathroom, huge bathtub, excellent coffee, dstv full + netflix, lovely shower (although open), bath robes and huge comfy bed. The terrace with private pool was just beyond amazing. Parking is small (only 4 cars) but we had no problems. Staff attentive and helpful all the time.

If this hotel had more flexible options or buffet breakfast, it'd get all 10* reviews. We still loved our cappuccinos and omelets

Sugar Hotel was excellent! The room we got had a lot of space, the bed was enormous and the bathroom had everything we needed, including shampoo and hair conditioner of good quality. Hotel’s location was perfect for us, near to all places we were planning to visit. And, last but not least, the staff was really good to us, kind, welcoming and helpful. Couldn’t have picked a better place to stay in Cape Town. Thank you!

The only thing I think that could be better was the breakfast options, maybe with more vegan/vegetarian dishes

Room very nice and comfortable. Didn't like coffee though and no alternative south Frican traditional coffee available. No sugar replacement sachet.

Breakfast provision is poor. No cereals, no traditional South African bread. I don't even know who does u breakfast, just poor. No fruit, nothing. Breakfast was my biggest turn off. A mini buffet is recommended or if limited visitors, breakfast orders b taken the night before.

The breakfast was pretty bad, my avo toast was a really small portion and not as described on the menu. The presentation was also very boring. My partner’s eggs were very raw.

On arrival I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the front desk who kindly allowed me to check in early & opened the off road private parking area for me which was an excellent addition. The bedroom I stayed in was spotless, nicely decorated & the room itself was HUGE as was the bathroom complete with shower, twin sinks, bath & separate toilet.

Good location. Unfortunately not enough parking. If parking is advertised, these must be sufficient bays. Comfortable rooms with lovely beds and linen. Friendly staff. Building and carpets need some attention. No power. Generator arrived last night but was switched off. My friend needs to sleep with a CPAP machine so he couldn’t sleep.

The accommodation was excellent, and the location was convenient as well. The breakfast could use some improvement, and it would have been better if the on-site restaurant stayed open for dinner, as it currently closes at 11 AM. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would definitely recommend it to my friends

I was disappointed at first because Valentino offered me no menu and was very deceptive about the food ingredients. Hence, Valentino tried to serve me spaghetti, when I ordered penne. Besides Valentino’s poor service on the first day, the entire staff made up for his mistakes with their stellar performances. I love the dog too! Overall, the staff, environment and amenities are like staying in a luxurious mansion. It is the best hotel that I have ever resided in my entire life. That says a lot because I am very well travelled. Sugar Hotel is so exceptional, that it shames the local hotels in Cape Town, South Africa.
