Fabulous rooms , excellent bedding & products in room too .

Too many ‘ Instagram luvvies!’ That make the bar area a bit cheap with constant posing on the main steps into the bar . The bar is beautiful & I am sure we all like a photo to capture the magnificence, but when it becomes ‘ ridiculous ‘ with Instagramers who aren’t even staying there , then it definitely cheapens this exquisite hotel .

It was beautiful and clean.

Upon checkout, I had 2 of my hats stolen. They were held after we checked out while we went to the mall before our car came and then we couldn’t find it. It was a very sad experience quite frankly.

The staff/security are racists they told my daughter to move from the bar to accommodate white people. It’s disgusting if this is the attitude for One & Only then you will lose more customers. We can’t have this nonsense in 2022/2023. You need to address this asap. I suggest you get management to get hold my daughter or myself. We always stay at this hotel and disgusted as how my daughter was treated. White people are not superior and we pay the same amount.

Everything was wonderful, from the moment we arrived at the property and received the most attentive welcome and checked in we were in “Heaven” the entire time we spent at the property! The staff is beyond gracious, attentive, and quick to satisfy any of your needs, the food in the hotel is one of the best we have had and the comfort of the rooms is fit for a king! The location could not be any better if you are willing to take a short walk to waterfront and other attractions in town. This was probably one of the most beautiful and comfortable places we have stayed in the world. Highly recommend!!!

It was so good to return to the hotel which we have been for many years, to see some of the same staff working there after Covid, it feels like we are going home not to a hotel. All the staffs are so friendly and helpful in many ways, the security in the hotel was top class. Breakfast was absolutely 1st class. There are so many different varieties to choose from and the waitress would bring out more tasty sweet pastries or savouries treats for people to sample.

I have to say that one of the hotel restaurant was allowing guests especially ladies to dress next to nothing, it was so off putting when there are young children dinning at the same time. I expect that there should be a dress code to dine in a high end hotel. I was also disappointed that the new restaurant has very limited meat dishes to choose from. There were no game on the menu which I was hoping to try in South Africa.

Received an upgrade offer so was upgraded from my initial room to an island room. it was quite lovely as it was partly secluded with views of the canal and extremely spacious. The hotel is located less than a km away from the V&A which was amazing as you could pop out for some meals/shopping etc. Staff were absolutely excellent and welcoming which made the place feel like home. We also utilised the Spa and cannot recommend it enough.

Property is undergoing renovations in some parts which include their main dining area. this limited the dining options on-site (which was not a trainsmash because of how close the V&A is).

-The location was perfect and right by the V&A. -Our room was large and beautiful .we got the Island room -Loved the complementary tote and face caps . -Toiletries were 100%, done to a full pouch manicure pouch ! -the VIEWS were breathtaking! Everywhere was amazing! - the WhatsApp chat to the team of Hosts- anything you needed was done promptly through that chat! - THE SPA !!!!!

Not much as minor issues where quickly resolved by the hosts who are like a group of butlers

All of the start we came into contact with were helpful and so friendly.

We grew into the hotel, when we first arrived it felt like a “corporate” hotel, staff saying hello because they were told to rather than it being genuine. The hotel was fantastic, we had a room with a port view out of one window and table mountain out of another. The breakfast facilities are superb, the best we have encountered on our many travels.

The pool was cleaned spotlessly each morning and the attendant did a great job, there are a number of gulls that occupy the area and regular bathe in the pool or fly over. At one side of the pool there can be poop stains from the birds and some guests were also hit! We have visited other places that have taken a hawk around the poolside area and that has kept the gulls at bay, perhaps the hotel should consider something similar?

The staff were amazing - from check-in to the very last minute as we left the hotel. The breakfast had so many great options that I loved. The view from our room was stellar. I would never be tired of seeing the mountains and water every day. We had just checked in, and my sister, who is a massive Luvo Ntezo fan, met him, and he made her afternoon by gracing us with 30 minutes of his busy schedule. She will never forget that and was the highlight for her.
