Great location within metres of the V&A Waterfront, closes to numerous bars, restaurants and shops. All staff are very helpful, friendly and willing to help with anything. Hotel has a nice relaxed atmosphere and it’s quiet even though the busy city is on the doorstep. Breakfast at the hotel was very nice, plenty of choice and very good service. There is a nice bar area, where you can relax after a busy day. Room was a great size, extremely clean, bottles of water replenished every day, large bathroom with quality bathroom products. There is parking at the hotel which was very useful. Would recommend a stay at this hotel if you are visiting Cape Town.

A fantastic hotel with friendly and helpful staff, offering a delicious breakfast with a stunning Table Mountain view. The modern facilities, efficient and quiet air conditioning, and convenient on-site parking (no reservation needed) add to the comfort. The location is unbeatable, within walking distance of the Waterfront, making it ideal for both tourists and business travelers.

While the rooms are slightly smaller than expected for a 5-star hotel, the charm of the historical building in a historical quarter compensates for this limitation.

The property is super convenient to the waterfront but feels quiet and private. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The staff were the soul of the hotel and my stay - everyone was helpful, competent, friendly and always available but not intrusive. Excellent service by fabulous staff. The Spa!! The best detox wrap and massage - highly recommend!

The ground floor bedroom was exposed to the lobby noise - not frequent but it did occur. While piano music is lovely someone jet lagged may prefer some quiet to get a nap before dinner. Could you soundproof those bedroom doors/ walls better? I did have ice occasionally when a group must have arrived early hours of the morning and they were clearly enjoying themselves but it was disruptive to those sleeping on the ground floor.

The property was great, within walking distance from the Waterfront with shops and restaurants. Breakfast (combination of buffet and a la carte) was excellent, with good quality ingredients and friendly service.

Refund policy for changes in bookings. On booking.com the policy was free cancellation. The hotel asked for a prepayment to secure the reservation for the entire stay upon making the booking. I made a change to the reservation about two weeks before the stay, expecting an immediate refund for the nights cancelled, as is a practice elsewhere. The hotel refused to give me the refund until after the stay, and processed the refund a week after we checked out. We had to follow up about the refund process several times, and at some point they tried suggesting that the refund would be in a form of credits for future stay, which we immediately rejected. All of this needs to be made more clear prior to booking. Everything about the stay itself was great! It is priced at a higher end of the range.

Unsecured wi fi — this was a really unprofessional situation. Caused us a difficult situation, it’s the only place we have stayed in SA and Namibia where we have experienced this. We asked if for a very limited time we could log onto a secured network, this was denied by by everyone, Ironically we are at our next destination - and they have secured wi fi- so although we loved your hotel, we will never recommend it or use it again due to the WiFi situation!

Amazing hotel, the staff were so friendly and welcoming - Oswell and Christian in particular. Breakfast was a la carte and very tasty. Room was huge and immaculately clean, bed very comfy.

Shower door leaked slightly and tree on the balcony slightly blocked table mountain view. Some minor works going on one morning. These however didn't spoil our stay and we'd definitely stay here again!

Great location. Clean, spacious and most of the staff are excellent.

Our room looked into a parking area and was noisy. The room had a “mountain view” which was poetic licence. If I hung out a window and looked through trees I could see a bit of Table Mountain. Check in time is 2pm and I had to push to get a room by 2.20. We were given a room than was smaller than we paid for and refused to stay in it. The chap in reception could have dealt with me more appropriately. We. have stayed at this hotel at least ten times and there is no record of being previous guests and being welcomed back.

We loved everything about this hotel. As other reviews have said this hotel is really comfortable & stylish, in a great location, very near the waterfront amenities but a bit quieter than other hotels with use of the lovely private pool & garden area. In addition the staff were all truly exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them from booking taxis, giving directions to arranging off menu items.

Facilities were exceptionally clean and in great repair. Nothing in the room was dirty, broken, or worn. Amenities were thoughtful and well presented. The highlight was the friendly, helpful and professional staff!

If there was anything I might change it would be the restaurant dinner menu. The only option seemed to be a 7 course meal, or bar food. Something in between would have been appreciated. The free breakfast was very good!

We loved the property! The staff went out of their way to help. ALWAYS on top of things. The location was perfect close to everything but quiet and a bit exclusive. Breakfast was also fantastic.

Only problem is the taxi drivers for each of us coming from the airport got lost finding it. Maybe being purposeful in sending out some directions, and helpful hints to assure a smooth arrival
