Perfect location on the Waterfront, lots to see and do. Breakfast was plentiful and varied with excellent service. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were professional and always friendly There were enough staff on duty on the desk to deal with several enquirers at once.

We were in a Piazza room, and down on the Piazza outside our room was a live band playing music in the afternoons and early evenind. Suitable music for the area, but sometimes a bit noisy. We actually liked it most of the time and kept our window open. When we closed our window the sound was almost totally excluded, so it really wasn't an issue.

The breakfast was fantastic, as were the staff. It would have been nice to be given a bit more information at check-in about the area etc. The rooms were well looked after and cleaned every day. The all day dinner menu was superb as well.

It was advertised on Booking.com as a hotel with a pool, however the pool is a walk across the road to its sister hotel. It was up a slope and steps.I specifically search and expected a pool onsite, so that was a disappointment. Also, it would be nice for late check out if there was a changing room for guests when they leave.

Celebrating 30 Years of Love at Victoria and Alfred Hotel, Newmark Cape Town. My wife and I chose the Victoria and Alfred Hotel by Newmark in Cape Town as the destination to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and what an excellent choice it was! Our stay from the 14th to the 21st of December was nothing short of remarkable. The hotel's location could not have been more ideal. We were enchanted by the convenience of having a mall just a stone's throw away. The area around the hotel is a food lover's paradise, with many restaurants to choose from. A highlight for us was the accessibility to the hop-on-hop-off bus service, with a stop just around the corner from the hotel. This made exploring Cape Town a breeze and allowed us to soak in the city's beauty and culture effortlessly

I find myself hard-pressed to pinpoint aspects that we did not like. From the warm reception and meticulous housekeeping to the exceptional service at the restaurant and bar, every aspect of the hotel was well-organized, contributing to a memorable and flawless experience.

All A+. Staff MOST friendly, from cleaning staff to check-in, to doormen and concierge. Plus service staff at breakfast (which was exceptional) and laundry service all wonderful. Next time we’ll try to stay in a room bellow the 3rd floor, all of which have skylights instead of using the magnificent views! It seems a waste not to have used dormers in the roof instead of skylights, so that’s the only change I’d recommend.

The dormer comment above is the only change I’d recommend; expensive, but in the no-brainer category!

We were in a loft room and everything was very clean and well maintained The staff at this hotel are exceptional They supplied feather pillows when I asked them for softer pillows The location of the hotel is so convenient it is really worth while booking here

The aircon in the room was not working correctly and although they sent someone to reset it we still had to open windows to cool the room down and because of the perfect location at the Waterfront unfortunately it is too noisy (lively) outside to keep the windows open

Location, staff and food. Great start to our holiday, able to do table mountain and most of Cape Town from this central location. Great for walking out to the many restaurants, or staying at the hotel to enjoy a drink by the dock and watch the local seals!

Nothing to fault about the property, but for a hotel of this quality, Nescafé coffee watchers in the room were a big disappointment. Really need to upgrade to decent coffee in the room. Otherwise perfect.

We loved everything about this hotel from the moment we arrived! Welcomed by the Valet service person, and the reception staff. Our room was spacious and clean and had a wonderful view on the docks and Table Mountain, just as I requested. The hotel is in a safe walking distance of all restaurants and shops in the Mall. We had a wonderful stay.

There was nothing not to like! The hotel and everything around it met with all our expectations. This is a wonderful location and a must to visit when on holiday in Cape Town .

The location was great! Right next to the waterfront mall. We chose the loft room, the room faces table mountain and the sea, it was beautiful both in the morning and at night. The room was big! Bathroom was big too! Staffs were friendly and helpful.

It was windy on our last night, so the windows of the loft couldn’t close properly. We hear wind sounds the whole night, although it didn’t bothered us much. We could hear the music from the waterfront. But on the whole the sound proof was alright. The door to the bathroom couldn’t close properly. The front door’s safety inside lock couldn’t be turned to lock. But door is one of those automatic locks that will lock once the door is shut.

Perfect location,in the pedestrian zone of the V and A waterfront.Very safe outside to walk,full of restaurants cafes bars and the shopping mall.The room was big enough and clean,very good wifi.Staff was really helpfull with all are requests and the hotel transportation was there on time waiting for us at the airport despite our big delay they were monitoring our flight the internet.Breakfast was very goo with lots of choices from the buffet and also a la carte ordering,Definitely the best location in Cape Town.

A bit expensive and could have more ammenities in the room.

One of the rooms was large and spacious with a longe. Excellent. The other wasn’t as large but spacious enough. The beds were amazing. Great nights sleep.

I booked this hotel specifically as they allowed me to request two rooms next to each other. When I went to check in the rooms were not next to each other. The guy at the front desk and the manager were unable to assist to arrange something to meet the request although there were rooms still available. Secondly, when we went down for breakfast, the waiter was not clear to advise as to which part of the breakfast offer was included, as I booked the rooms with breakfast included. I still do not understand as to why I had to pay an extra R722 when breakfast was included and paid for. .
