Cleanest and neatest kitchen I have ever seen at a backpackers. The free breakfast is very adequate. Great that you can also order a cappucino on top of normal tea/coffee. There is ample comfotable communal space, including in the garden. I was in a private ensuite room which was ideal next to the kitchen, and with an outdoor area with table and chairs and view on Table Mountain from there. The room and I think all the dorms except perhaps one or two are removed from noise from the bar. Over two nights the bar never got out of hand or late. Situated on the edge of the Bo-Kaap. I walked there and to the city centre in complete safety.
Truly no complaints, and I have seen many backpackers over the years!

The good vibes at the villa, the location... I am quite a frequent user of that place now and each time i came was amazing.
Well i just wish the shower doesn't take that long to warm... I believe this does not serve the "save water" goal, because you have to let it run in a relatively long period. Also please make it warmer... Probably a problem specific to the room i took during my last stay. I did not enjoy the water temperature. Other than that, it remains my Go to Place! i love Viva villa.

Real gem of a hostel and the best one I've stayed at in CT. It's social without being too party or loud, lots of different social areas, inside and out, for relaxing or meeting people. Loved the pool outside, which has a view of the gardens and table mountain. Breakfast each morning was decent and there's an active WhatsApp group for organising hikes/activities with others.
I stayed twice, my first dorm was much nicer with curtained beds and lots of space. The second time, the dorm was more basic and small, despite being more expensive. Sometimes it could be hard to find a free bathroom as there aren't many of them.

I liked everything about the property. The place was entertaining, meet with other foreign nationals, nice communicative staffs. Location and views were amazing. There is this one staff outstanding , l like her so much. Don’t know her name. African woman.she knows how to communicate very well, even if she doesn’t understand ur language, she will find her way . The breakfast super. Everything u need is right on the table. The kitchen was organized, the pool was so clean , i was like wow,I would love to come stay there again. Villa viva .
What i did like was : 1) I didn’t get the preferred room I got, it was available when i booked and paid. That was a 4 bedroom dorm , now i was given a 6 bedroom, that’s against the law and i can sue for the scam. If u want me to do that till me cos i have proff of everything.

Lovely bed and cosy, clean bedding. Great privacy afforded by curtains. Breakfast could be a bit monotonous if you stay for awhile eg suggest scrambled eggs sometimes if it was possible to keep them hot? And different pastries within same budget range. Fruit salad. Good variety of beverages. Lovely different breakaway areas meant you can gain a modicum of privacy or gathering in smaller groups. Brilliant kitchen for self catering. Safes and lockable cupboards offer peace of mind. Lovely old houses with wooden floors. Good social gathering opportunities.
All good.

The location is wonderful, it is within walking distance to great restaurants and bars, and the historic Labia Theatre. Excellent breakfast - fresh melon, grapes and pineapple. Bread with jam, nutella, butter, etc. Freshly delivered pain au chocolat from a local bakery, juice, a yogurt bar, cheese, tomato, and cucumber. The staff were super helpful throughout my stay. The property is large with lots of bathrooms, hangout spaces, and even a pool. The showers had good water pressure and got warm quickly. The rooms were modern and clean, and the kitchen and fridges had more than enough space for guests. Each bed came with a lamp, small shelf, and outlet. There is a cat and a dog who are super friendly.
There is no aircon in the rooms so when it’s hot you need to open the window and ask for a fan. Also, the doors are very heavy and when they slam it is quite loud. Make sure to bring your own padlock because the cubbies in the rooms don’t have a way of locking themselves.

Our stay at Villa Viva went very well. The concept allows us to meet people, and the people who work there are very kind. The location was perfect: close to the city, easy access by car to the roads leading to the mountains, etc. Our stay was car-free, and we were able to enjoy it. We will be back (hopefully soon). Thank you to the young people and other people who offer this place a wonderful experience.

The Hostel: Dorm rooms are spacious, welcoming, functional and clean. Each bunk is equipped with a privacy curtain, charging station (requires South African plugs) and a large locker for your valuables. There’s plenty of space in the room for oversized luggage. WiFi network, shower and water pressure all worked great. Common areas offer cozy vibes with plenty of seating. The Stay: The bed was comfortable and the dorm is well designed. Gardens is a very safe and secure neighborhood. The hostel is gated with entry codes provided to guests for access control. There’s also a security guard on-site. Conveniently located and a short distance to most attractions (20-minute Uber ride from CPT airport). The Service: The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They were always available to answer questions and offer tour recommendations. Towels are provided free of charge and the breakfast selection was excellent. Braai and other social activities held on-site regularly. 10/10 would recommend.
Nothing of significance.

I went on holiday on my own and it was an excellent choice of location, the hostel is well located, I stayed in a single room which was comfortable, the shared bathroom was always very clean. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming. The place has a good, well-equipped kitchen. The breakfast was good.
In my room I could hear a lot of noise from the neighboring rooms and the sound of footsteps upstairs
