The staff were great - super helpful and friendly. The location was vibrant right on long street which we enjoyed during the day for its many restaurants and cafes. The windows had definitely been sound proofed which was greatly appreciated at night so we could sleep. The kitchen was well equipped, and they offered free coffee in the morning.

This hostel didn't have the typical vibe you'd expect to meet other travelers. There were great common areas but it seemed like most of the people we met lived there or something? Kind of a strange crew. GET A PRIVATE ROOM would be my advice. There seemed to be a lot of prostitution and homeless people outside which is typical for long street I guess. We stayed in after dark to avoid. But during the day we enjoyed the area.

I liked everything about Urban Hive. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean facilities. I stayed in a room and haven't been in the dorms yet. The rooms are spacious and clean. With a mirror and sink. And a desk and fan. The bedding is soft and the door could either open completely or just a little to let in air. They have a lot of stairs, so if you have a heavy bag. It might be a challenge, but the staff offered to help with my luggage. The sharee kitchen was clean with something of everything you might need to make food. There is even space in the fridge and there is cupboard space too. Just mark your items. The shared toilet. And the shared shower. Both spacious and clean. The city is loud for most of the night. Which wasn't a problem for me and if you enjoy the hustle and bustle for the city it won't be a problem for you.

I arrived early but was given a warm welcome and could leave my bags at a safe place, staff was very kind, showing me around. The building is a historical one, pretty good looking, giving a nice atmosphere, even from the street, with a hige balcony overlooking two streets. Location of the property is pretty nice, too, close to sights, shops and restaurants, in the safer part of town, so you can go out during the evening and feel fine. The room was simple but good, and there's complimentary tea and coffee in the morning. Nice spot.

The neighborhood can be a bit loud at night due to the nearby bars, but nothing too bad.

The staff were fantastic, and the location was ideal. Situated on Long Street, close to Cape Town Station, several dining and shopping options, and a short walk to the V&A Waterfront. I was hesitant to book near Long Street due to the loudness, but my room was really quiet. The windows were thick and noise-resistant. The shared bathroom is conveniently located near your room, and there are plenty of them. My double bed was so comfortable, and I couldnt have asked for a better sleep. Overall, I was very surprised because I don't usually book at backpackers. I would definitely stay here again. The receptionists were exceptional.

Helpful, attentive staff...the cleaners are amazing ...give them a money bonus for them keeping the place so great and making you feel like home.

I didn't overly like what I chose the venue for ...over the top loud music from the clubs on weekends ....but wasn't that why I chose that location ?

What wonderful folks that work there, incredibly kind, helpful and fantastic! They put a giant smile on my face. Balcony is a great place to chill and everyone is friendly. I am a fan!

There is a karaoke bar nearby which made me laugh every evening I sat on the balcony off my room, you will hear renditions of songs that you can never un-hear again but this happens all along Long Street, there is lots of music going on in this area so if you are looking for a quiet place make sure you bring some ear plugs. I personally had no problem with it.

In the main location, we can go to various locations easily, Uber or bolt taxis can be got, security guards here, restaurants are available . I got a taxi via Bolt app, even at 3.30 AM. Staff are friendly, they helped a lot. Cleaners are cleaning well

In the toilet, there are glasses. people from other buildings can see. Need white color light in the room.

I always loved it because I am always booking there.

I did not like that we had to walk all the way to the police station to get an affidavit at 11 the night, because my partner did not have his ID. We have been there mutiple times and just gave his ID number, at the time we had a copy and they helped us but this time we just had the ID number, it was not has if we have never been there before.

Hospitality at it's best. Having climaxed my Epic road trip from Nairobi Kenya to Cape Town, then Urban Backpackers Hosted me on this day that Mark's my Birthday also, feels epic. Unfortunately I can't record much of my stay here because I have to respect other people privacy. I would have wished to document my stay here and have it on my YouTube channel.

Two ladies one african and one indian decent cant remember the names but honestly they are the best staff at the reception,their smiles,personalities,PR voices makes miss the facility,"enjoy the rest of your day" such was always phrase fromn these 2 beauties. The facility was good beyond my expectations,i promise go back there anytime i show up in capetown.wifi,kitchen,bar area,balcons made me enjoy the and discouver the beauty of capetown nightlife without necessarily going out. warm showeres etc.10/10 i give it.
