Very friendly staff, great breakfast

Beautiful hotel with an amazing buffet breakfast, friendly staff, exceptional facilities.

Our twin room was not ready upon arrival at 15h00, waited for nearly an hour whilst they tried to find another room. Eventually got given another room on the top floor with an obstructed view of Table Mountain, not the room shown on booking.com. Disappointing for a 5 star hotel, enjoyed the rest of our stay.

Room was great. Nice size. great check-in experience with valet parking. Hotel is impressive. Whiskey bar looks great.

View of city from room was not great as looking mainly into a building fairly close by. Would book a mountain view next time. Breakfast quality was great but back room feels a bit 3 star versus tables in main lobby that match quality of hotel. Coffee was terrible. Hotel of this caliber should have a barrista and not an automated machine - and I'm not a coffee snob!

Nice hotel, clean and good restaurant. Location city center. Basically, it is a five-star hotel that knows how to run the business

Be prepared. There are homeless people outside the hotel. A five-minute walk to buy a pack of cigarettes and someone trying to rob me and my colleague.

I liked that I was in a room with better views of the City and Table Mountain which made the experience nice.

I was originally in a room with no views. However, upon speaking to reception they were able to accommodate me in a better too.

First time in Cape Town SA,but I travel extensively and normally stay at exclusive 5 star hotels so I wanted to experience something similar.Ambience was great and everyone was amazing with regards to the whole experience I had to break up my stay as Taj was not available from Jul 3-9,so I had to stay at another hotel until there was availability.Staff were helpful and friendly especially Tarik (concierge) as we booked a game reserve trip via his assistance.The food could be much better for a 5 star hotel,including breakfast so I was disappointed at the quality of the food. The restaurant staff were slightly confused or there was a lack of communication for a simple cappacchino which took 30 min to get to us,or they forgot to bring something we ordered as this was all on the first day that we arrived…so I was patient and they were much better on the next few days….but first impressions can be lasting so I would have more management here with new guests so the experience is always exemplary.I would also cater to guests for a shuttle to waterfront or canal walk as most international hotels of this calibre offer this as a complimentary option as all fuels the retail therapy experience and of course sales in Cape Town. Staff did accommodate a check in earlier than anticipated so was grateful.No one mentioned the membership at the Taj which would have been helpful as I had to ask about it,so I would have appreciated more info than simply being asked to scan a barcode.A noon checkout was great to have. I would definitely look to experience the Taj again as I had booked my parents here,for a week 2 years ago and they loved it,so I was eager to enjoy an equally amazing experience.

We stayed on the club level, which was one floor away from the spa and on the same level as a fitness center and indoor pool. Having access to the club was ideal when we didn’t want the busyness of the lobby restaurant. The buffet in the restaurant, however, was worth it. The attendants in the club lounge, namely, Innocent and Christopher, were so attentive. I don’t think they ever sat down. They gave the club experience a very luxurious and pampered feel. I was also impressed with the front desk staff and the bellman, who were quick to walk us to the ATM around the corner. I would absolutely stay there again. We were at the waterfront within five minutes numerous times a day and catching a ride service usually took 2 to 3 minutes. The 120 minute massage was exceptional.

I would have liked shuttle service from the airport.

Taj! This hotel chain has been my go-to for years, and that’s exactly why I chose to stay here during my trip to Cape Town. I’m happy to say they’ve maintained the same high brand standards I’ve experienced at other Taj properties around the world. We booked a Luxury Mountain View Room for 5 nights, and it truly felt like home. The room had beautiful views of Table Mountain and Lions Head. The room was spacious, with a wide, comfortable bed. There was a smart TV to connect Netflix or YouTube, a well-stocked tea and coffee tray, and a large bathroom complete with a bathtub, bath salts, and bubble bath. There was also a separate shower area, which was a great touch. Our stay was very comfortable and pleasant. The staff was generally cooperative and helpful whenever we needed assistance. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool and gym on the second floor, both of which are clean and come with water and towel facilities. The breakfast buffet was generous, offering a mix of continental and Indian options. There were live cooking stations where freshly made dosas, eggs, omelettes, hashbrowns, and more were served right from the kitchen. A great way to start the day!

I’m giving this review 8 instead of 10 for a couple of reasons: Response time from the staff was slower than expected on multiple occasions. For example, when we requested towels, water, or toiletries, it sometimes took 30 to 60 minutes for them to arrive. Although the breakfast spread was large, 95% of the dishes were repeated daily, which made it feel a bit monotonous by the end of our stay. Despite these minor issues, I would definitely stay at Taj Cape Town again. It provided the comfort, familiarity, and service that made me feel right at home.

Beautifully appointed room, well serviced. Breakfast buffet was exceptional, food quality outstanding. Staff are friendly and helpful. Obviously well trained. It is a city centre location, opposite St George’s cathedral and Company gardens. It is near to buzzy Greenmarket square and the sightseeing bus stops, but a 20+minute walk to the waterfront.

For me, the lack of a roof top sun terrace and pool was a little disappointing. However, there was an indoor pool and fitness centre.

The place, the staff, the room - wonderful room - large room, comfy bed, walk in rain shower, water filled every day - great view of mountain (lions head and table top) and nice little balcony, good central location - they even made us a take away breakfast as we had to leave at 04:30. Also lovely fluffy robes. Also, in the evening they made a fire in the BBQ to keep us warm on the terrace area. Oh yes - and the breakfast was excellent too. Buffet and a la carte included.

It was really fab. Could have got room ready quicker though. We ended up waiting until 3pm, which is the check in time to be fair, but difficult to see why. So we had a lovely lunch in the Mint restaurant while we waited. They took us to the room but left luggage downstairs.
