Gorgeous George is an exceptional hotel that truly stands out. From the moment you enter, it's clear that every detail has been thoughtfully designed. The hotel is easy to find, thanks to a prominent sign that marks the entrance (the street is only for pedestrians). Once inside, you're immediately greeted by a stunning tile mural in the lobby, featuring a beautiful map of Cape Town – a truly unique touch. Throughout the hotel, you’ll discover various artistic details that make walking around a delight, from the captivating artwork on the walls to the carefully curated design elements. Our stay was fantastic – the room was spacious, well-equipped, and beautifully decorated. The amenities were top-notch, and it was a pleasure to relax there. Breakfast at the Gigi's Rooftop was a highlight – one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, with generous portions, excellent food, but more amazing staff, thanks to the team! The hotel’s location is ideal for first-time visitors to Cape Town, offering easy access to popular attractions.

There was a bit of noise one night but it wasn’t a major issue, and a pair of earplugs from the helpful staff made it easy to sleep peacefully.

My goodness the pictures on Booking.com do not do this hotel justice! It truly lives up to its name. Gorgeous. Stunning. Jaw-dropping. When we saw the photos, we expected cozy rooms. When we stepped in, we got loft-like ceilings, spacious bedroom, large windows letting in plenty of sunlight, and a clean bathroom with excellent water pressure (be careful letting loose with those tabs because the water pressure is high). Hotel staff were so friendly during out entire stay. From warm greetings to excellent tips, we felt warmly welcomed and cared for. Service was also quite prompt from check-in to getting our luggage in our room. Morning cleaning was super efficient (done by the time we returned from breakfast) and turndown service was a lovely touch. Gig's rooftop restaurant and bar was a fantastic addition. Great for morning brunch or afternoon drinks. The rooftop also gets DOWN with guest DJs during the evenings.

There's really nothing to nitpick. Considering the cost per night, location, amenities, staff services, etc., this is a fantastic hotel. Whenever I return to Cape Town, Gorgeous George is going to be my go-to hotel.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. From valet who parks your car, to the front desk greeting you, to the Gigi restaurant staff - everyone is accommodating and very friendly, making your stay enjoyable and memorable experience. The room is exceptionally clean, with wooden floors, comfortable bedding, modern finishings, and with everything that I needed for my stay. I loved the design and feel of the place and the room. They were flexible enough to accommodate my slightly late check-out because I had a meeting nearby finishing at 12 pm. As I had an early morning meeting, Chloe from Gigi restaurant organised an early breakfast for me. The waiter Timichi sets a positive vibe to the place.

The surrounding area might be a bit off-putting, but I felt fairly safe.

From the moment we checked in we felt welcomed. The staff were incredible, so friendly and chatty and nothing was too much trouble. We had a studio room which was very spacious and had everything you could ask for, Tea and coffee, hairdryer, lovely toiletries, great air con, yoga mat, and the Netflix on the hotel account was useful. Breakfast was amazing, both the choice and quality of food. The restaurant food was also delicious as were the cocktails. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant and bar in the evening and the live music was great.

Everything and everyone was fantastic.

We loved our stay at Gorgeous George! Everything about the hotel was unique, chic, artsy, and stylish. The rooms were very large, and the shower was great. The free breakfast on the roof was delicious. The rooftop in general was an awesome place to relax. We loved sitting on the little pool deck, and we loved the bar (Gigi's Rooftop) so much that we went every night after dinner! The cocktails were delicious. Every staff member we encountered during our stay was very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They even surprised us by decorating our room for our honeymoon, which was very thoughtful. We were a little concerned that the hotel was located on the pedestrian mall and Ubers would not be able to drop us off in front of the door at night, but the drop off spot was a very short walk to the hotel, and we felt completely safe. I highly recommend staying Gorgeous George while in Cape Town!

Everything was great!!

I loved the friendliness of the staff. They actually had personality and were not overly buttoned up — unlike most 5 star hotels. They went over and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. Even so far as having doormen keep an eye on me while I waited for an uber at night.

The only knock I have is that the AC unit in my room kept condensing and dripping water on the floor — even though the thermostat was set to 22-23C. However, their staff was quick to clean up the condensation water and kept the room very tidy & clean.

My daughter and I had an exceptional stay. The staff went over and above to make us feel welcome. They advised us on what attractions to visit and provided a variety of suggestions. One staff member discovered it was my birthday and provided a gorgeous birthday dessert that was delivered to my room. Such a lovely gesture! The room and facilities were fun, artsy, and creative. The food was delicious; breakfast was included in the price and there was a great selection. I would happily stay at Gorgeous George again!

The only very small fault was the limited choice for vegetarians on the evening menu.

The staff are incredibly good at their jobs. Booking tours, giving us extra scones at breakfast, giving us the world's best welcome drink, and giving smiles away for free. We experienced the best breakfasts that we have ever had in accommodation in our entire lives. The GG's rooftop is insanely beautiful, and the decor has a point of difference. The location is close to outstanding restaurants, and a melting pot of diversity.

What an amazing Funky and cool Hotel in the middle of Cape Town. The vibe was relaxed, but high end, and the Roof Top Bar, restaurant and pool area was such a great place to hang out even for oldies like us. On one night there was a DJ mixing vinyl, and on the other night was a band jamming with customers. Very Hip!

Clearer instructions on arriving by Hire-Car, and where/how to park would have been welcome as the hotel is located on a pedestrian ised area, and it was our first time in Cape Town. We'll know for next time!
