A good value for money hotel and a handy location for what we wanted to do while in Cape Town. The staff and service was good and the rooms were spacious with everything you would expect at this level of hotel.

The food choice was a bit limited both in the breakfast buffet and if you are dining there but there are lots of places around the hotel where you can dine. Location wise you just have to be a bit careful when walking around this (CBD) area at night, there is tourist police about but you can get pestered and they can be very persistent and hence you need to be careful. If this would cause you concern then the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront area would be a better choice. Note this is not the fault of the hotel obviously.

Very spacious, quiet room, clean and very comfortable bed. Nice breakfast, menu was changed every morning. Welcoming staff in the hotel.

I booked this hotel room and later saw a better deal for the same hotel - bigger room and breakfast included. Therefore I cancelled the previous reservation (within indicated free cancellation period) and made a new one. The trick is that the 50% payment is deducted once you make the reservation and it is processed by the hotel, not by booking. I have to say that I had a very hard time to get my money back for cancelled reservation. This also cost me significant roaming bill, as I had to call them already being in the hotel. By e-mail the reservation team was not responsive at all. This is very disappointing experience besides the fact, that hotel is good and nice.

The hotel was nice. Beautifully decorated. The staff were exceptional. Everyone was eager to ensure that my needs were met from making sure my meals were just right to ensuring I got in and out of my Uber okay.

There wasn’t an iron in the room. I had to call down daily for the iron. A few nights it was loud outside and it disturbed my sleep. The hotel is located on St. George’s Mall, which is a downtown square with vendors. The old windows are beautiful but don’t do much to insulate from noise & rattle periodically when the wind blows.

Breakfast is up on the 8th (top) floor where you'll also find the reception. The hotel has kept the original features of the Old Bank and is light and airy. The breakfast is substantial and sets you up well for the day ahead - staff are very friendly and willing to help. The location is right in the centre of the CBD so very easy to walk around and return to the hotel, however Ubers are readily available from right outside the hotel.

The hotel entrance is a little unassuming and can be difficult to find and a little unwelcoming. It's evident that the hotel have tried to rectify this by ensuring a staff presence outside the main door at most times of the day which did make us feel safe. The street outside the hotel has a daily market which starts early in the morning and is quite loud from 5/6am as the stalls are being set up. Some bits of the bathroom were looking tired and in need of a revamp.

The best part of the hotel is the staff!! They were all lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great and the hotel is kept very smart and clean. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable with great walk in showers. If you book go with a superior room, I’ll explain in the negative comments. It’s not a problem but the hotel is on the 4th to 8th floor of the building with the Concierge on the ground floor to greet you and reception on the 8th with the bar and restaurant.

Rooms 12 & 13 are the basic rooms’ deluxe’ I believe. Two reason not to go with these. One they are the only inner rooms of the building and you are disturbed by the lift. The second is not the fault of the hotel but if it is windy as it was for our stay you will need ear plugs to get any sleep. The staff were lovely and were able to move two of our rooms to the outer ‘Superb??’ Which are bigger and no noise! Final point is the hotel is a good 30 minute walk to the V&A

Very neat and modern inside a beautiful old building. Wonderfully clean and comfortable room. Staff were extremely helpful and professional. The onsite restaurant was an added bonus with good food. Valet service for the car was also professional and very efficient! Great place for visiting Cape Town’s city centre. Good value for money.

Since the hotel is built in an old building, and the character of that has been retained, as it should be, it does mean the old (but gorgeous) windows don’t block out street noise. For light sleepers like me, this is unfortunately a downside. Although the only negative I would care to mention.

The staff are really nice and helpful. The style of the hotel is nice and the high ceiling of the rooms are impressive. Everything was simple, yet nicely done. The waitress at breakfast is great.

Location is a bit rough at night and you’ll hear screams the whole night. They only give you one bottle of (filtered) water for your stay - and while they make sure to inform you about that single complimentary water, it is customary in many hotels to have water every day. The breakfast did not impress me.

The Old Bank Hotel is wonderful in every way. But what really makes your stay unforgettable is the team of all the people who make it up. The staff is super friendly, respectful, polite and they make your experience completely pleasant and safe. The hotel has spectacular rooms, comfortable and in perfect condition. Breakfast has what you need but, if you ask, they can prepare more things for you. I've had dinner a couple of nights and the food is wonderful. Special thanks to the breakfast waitress, Aretha, for her kindness, respect and education, she does a great job! Same as the whole Team working at this splendid Hotel, such as Guelord, and many more… My rate 10 out of 10!

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpfull, it is a very nice hotel that has recently been revamped. Modern with clean rooms. Breakfast was very nice with a restaurant on the 8th floor for evening dining. Enjoyed our stay with no complaints.

The hotel has a valet parking service, rates are reasonable however it was just a bit of an issue to drop off the car for parking during busy times as space is quite limited since the hotel is in central Cape Town. Much easier when making use of Uber or other driving services.

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel has classic hotel vibes, and the staff makes you feel like the most important guest in the world. It is ideal for easily (and affordably) catching an Uber for anywhere in the CBD and surrounding areas. The rooftop bar is fantastic after a hectic day of exploring the city. The cocktails are very well-priced! Also, a shoutout to the brilliant buffet breakfast! Just a note - there is no parking available at the hotel. However, they offer valet services to park your car at another location safely.

It would have been extra lovely if there was a pool!
