A Decade+ on Booking.com and this was one of my all-time, Top 5 places I've stayed! Manie and his staff are open books of hospitality ready to welcome, discuss, recommend anything about guests' time in Cape Town. I had a chance to look in some of the other themed-decorated rooms, very impressive like a museum tour, but mine was the 501s Levi Strauss room - which came with more decor and details than even I was aware of! The bed was comfortable, heating adequate as needed, plenty of hot water, and reliable WiFi. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Uber was always a quick pick-up to/from for anywhere in the city. Central location made many things within easy walking distance, including meeting point for Cape Town Free Walking Tours, the Hop-On Bus, and the Eastern Food Bazaar where I ate most of my meals and very highly recommend.
I had no problem walking around the central Cape Town area, including after dark though not too late. It's a typical, inner-city area with lots of people in the streets, including homeless and beggars. Some will approach; especially if carrying take-out or boxed leftovers. It comes with the territory so know YOUR limits but there's no reason for guests to be critical of the facility because they couldn't handle the location!

Staying at Daddy Long Legs Art Hotel was a unique and refreshing experience. If you're looking for a luxurious, plush stay, this isn’t it—but if you appreciate creativity, a bit of quirk, and great value, it’s perfect. The vibe is artsy and rustic, with wooden floors that creak underfoot, adding to the charm. The rooms themselves are comfortable but simple—you’re here to sleep, not lounge around all day. What really stood out was the welcoming atmosphere. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely made me feel at home. A nice touch was the complimentary welcome drink as well as coffee and a muffin each morning. Located right on Long Street, it’s the perfect base to explore Cape Town’s buzzing nightlife and cafés. If you’re after something different, with a personal touch and loads of character, this is a great pick.

The hotel's artistic vibe made it such a unique and memorable experience. A special shoutout to Mani and the entire staff for their exceptional customer service—they truly go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. The owner should know they have an incredible team creating one of the best customer experiences we've had in a long time. The internet speeds were fantastic, allowing us to get some work done during our stay. The "Emergency Room" is definitely on our list for next time—we can't wait to return!
Shower is very small.

The location of the place was very central and a walkable distance to places I needed to go to, I appreciated the complimentary drink so much because I was so thirsty upon arrival. The every day morning coffee and muffin was a total surprise for me and I loved it, and the fact that the muffins were fresh. 10 out of 10. The receptionists were so accommodating and the manager constantly checking up on us made me feel like a worthy guest. I loved loved staying here.
The stairs😩 Atleast we got helped when we arrived but going down all those stairs with luggage when you check out😭😭 Also Id have appreciated if it was noted that the place was smoking friendly, I have bad sinuses and I think there were guests who smoked downstairs at night because almost every night I could smell the nicotine coming into my room, but that is not on the hotel, something that they should note for us non smokers.

Such friendly staff, we felt right at home. The themed rooms are brilliant, they add to a certain excitement about spending the night away from home. There was a complementary drink available for us upon arrival, and a beautiful balcony to sit and enjoy it on. Long street is the prime location if you’re visiting for leisure and want to explore the night life of Cpt. Will definitely be staying again.
Absolutely nothing detrimental, nor to deter you away from this location, only that we had a bit of a hard time finding the entrance as it sort of blends into the busyness of Long Street. There is a sign outside that could be much more helpful to those with better eyesight than myself. Fantastic place.

The location of the property is next to everything from restaurants , clubs, shops etc. The room was clean and comfortable bed…we got welcome drinks and there was shampoo and shower gel in the shower, hot water all the way and WiFi was working very well and enough towels in the room.
It has that stainless steel toilets, quite a turn off for me found it very displeasing & the room had one chair and we were a couple so we had to sit on the bed when we wanted to eat.

Very Artsy Thematic Hotel, loved the room that I stayed on (E.R themed), it is very central to the city, the staff is nice and ready, also they have free coffee and a muffin-cupcake every morning and a free drink on arrival.
The stairs can be an issue, I was aware of it though. Entrance may look discreet from street view. Shower on my room was a bit extreme on pressure.

The staff were fantastic and incredibly efficient with helping store my bags, transfer my luggage from the ride to the room and vice versa, and delivering a great stay for me.
The room is a bit small for me, but I wasn't staying inside very long each day so for sleeping each night, it was fine I do wish I had been in a more exciting room. I think the option to choose your room should be available. I wasn't able to choose, I don't think. Otherwise a great stay in the CBD!.

That it did not have a TV to distract from enjoying quiet time to my thoughts. Enjoyed the outdoor noise from Long Street. The welcome was warm and pleasant and very friendly people. It is an intimate boutique hotel.
My friend asked that you include a mattress top just to make the bed softer. Either then that it was a wonderful experience and I would book there again.

Friendly and helpful staff. Really quirky quaint rooms. Excellent location for vibey CPT activities. Appreciated the welcome drinks. Bar/lounge area really lovely.
No parking available at the hotel. Signage on how to enter could be better. Room are tiny, don't feel like you have a lot of privacy.
