This hotel is all about the location, its in the heart of the Gardens but away from the loud music and party. You don't even need a car in the evening, you just go out of your hotel and all of the best bars and restaurants are there. We were upgraded to a Heritage room, so we were comfortable the whole stay. The rooftop bar has an amazing view, the plunge pool is great to unwind and the staff if superkind. Will definately book again if I there will be a promo.

The bed should have an additional topper because the mattress was a bit stiff for our liking. The housekeeping started knocking on doors already around 8 in the morning, and you can hear it, so we woke up quite early.

The hotel was lovely, bright, fresh and airy as you walk in. Lots of space. The staff was friendly and very helpful in getting to the rooms. The views of Table Mountain and surrounding area were stunning, especially at sunset. Having a rooftop bar was amazing and an outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi was lovely. We had a short stay with friends, but made the most of the space. The finishings in the hotel and rooms were lovely. I'd recommend this place to anyone and would stay again myself.

Without the staff, I wouldn't have found my room, however. The numbering system was not intuitive. I'm not sure if anything can be done here for a little more self-guided option to the room.

We had the eggs Benedict for breakfast. We asked for our eggs medium & they were perfectly done. The location is very central - at the heart of Cape Town so a 2 minute drive from both Table Mountain and the bustling city center and it’s amazing choice of restaurants. Despite this our rooms were so quiet and the whole hotel is so peaceful and tranquil: a little oasis in the hub of town.

There was absolutely nothing we could fault about our stay other than we wish we could’ve stayed for more than one night and we wished we’d spent more time in our beautiful rooms while booked in!

The staff were attentive and thoughtful. I let them know we're celebrating my husband's 40th and they arranged a birthday note and some snacks without me asking - great service and experience.

The restaurant on the premises was disappointing - which was sad after the great reviews we read. We were advised that they ran out of prawns and when we asked to speak to the manager we were advised that they usually keep stock aside for hotel guests (we were hotel guests) - still no prawns and no attempt at rectifying the situation. Service was mediocre - especially in comparison to the great service received from the hotel staff. The ambiance was lacking, the restaurant apparently insists on a smart casual dress code but most were wearing t-shirts and jeans.

The property is at a convenient location near to the city and also in a safe area. I loved the attention to detail that the staff provided from the cleanliness of the room to the food and service In the restaurant. Thanks to Cheree at front desk, chrispin in concierge and Luciana in the restaurant. When I’m back in Capetown this will definitely be my go to hotel. From the rooftop restaurant the view of table mountain is the most spectacular scenery ever!

The only thing that would need more work is the breakfast menu as it was not as extensive neither was it a buffet (The food available was quite tasty, don’t get me wrong). The bedding was also made from polyester so I would wake up in a pool of sweat on most nights, if the bedding was changed to cotton it would be great. Nonetheless everything else was great!

We had an absolutely delightful stay here with my family and we all agreed it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and their friendliness added so much warmth to our visit. Our rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully arranged—exactly what you hope for in a relaxing getaway. The food was delicious, with a great selection that catered to all tastes. And the view was just breathtaking, giving us the perfect backdrop for some lovely memories together. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making this such a memorable stay. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Very comfortable, in a great location, walking distance to good bars and restaurants

We would have preferred a first floor room, our ground floor room lacked a bit of privacy. The pool area had a bell to alert staff that you needed to make an order, this was not very efficient, the staff sometimes took a long time to arrive and take your order. The bell should be replaced with an intercom to avoid the staff having to make two trips to take your order!

Excellent service, all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We appreciated the complimentary upgrade. Loved the decor of the room and the bed was so Big and Comfie, had the best sleep. The location of the hotel was great, near to restaurants and bars. Breakfast was delicious and although it was al a carte it was a great variety of options available. In closing I just want to mention that the hotel has the best Table Mountain views from the rooftop. Absolutely beautiful ❤️

Really a sublime experience --- from the moment of check-in with such helpful staff with bags and a safe place to park, to being treated like VIP guests with free sauna/hot tub experiences organized, to stunning & super clean & quiet rooms with comfy beds, to a superb restaurant with the best views of Table Mountain. Honestly very blown away and don't leave reviews often, but a full 10/10 for the amazing team at Cloud 9! Thank you!

A mix of old Edwardian architecture/fittings eg chandelier in bedroom but modern bathroom, flatscreen TV, coffee pod machine, fridge. Lots of space well used, couple of small dip pools. Fantastic views of table Mtn or Cape Town whilst sipping cocktails, watching sun go down, or whilst in one of the dip pools

Nothing really. As this is about 5 houses now as one hotel, yes there are corridors/steps (but there is a lift to restaurant) but the way the houses have been joined up means there’s a private terrace for guests, jacuzzi, lounge rooms etc
