Gorgeous views, nice rooms with good views. Wellness centre was lovely.

Reception staff tried to charge us 250 CHF for a transfer to the airport when the trains weren’t running, they weren’t particularly friendly.

Location was heavenly beautiful, also gave me a chance to run in the mountain with breathtaking view. This location is far from city center but that is what I wanted, away from hustle n bustle of Zurich

Staff didn’t touch the luggage, loading to the van, everything was self service :-( The worse thing is one couple checkout early, they were asked to leave the luggage and walk to the train station, they did, but staff waited for me who checked out later to load all the luggage, ignoring another couple have to get to the airport asap. They went way too far not troubling themselves with luggage :-(

The location of UTO Hotel in Zurich was truly stunning, with breathtaking views all around. While the uphill walk was occasionally challenging for my elderly parents, the experience was made much smoother thanks to the incredibly responsive, respectful, and helpful staff. Their hospitality made a real difference. I’d gladly return in the future. Breakfast was somewhere between basic and great — a solid spread, though offering made-to-order hot dishes like omelettes or pancakes would take it to the next level. I arrived just as the kitchen was closing, but the team still let me order. The dining staff and waiters were attentive, professional, and on point. Big credit to their service culture.

A few suggestions: clearer public transport instructions (like where to find the bus stop, how to buy tickets, maybe even share a photo of the stop). When we arrived, we didn’t know you couldn’t buy tickets on the bus, which was a bit frustrating. I share this feedback because I genuinely enjoyed my experience and want future guests to have it even smoother.”

The structure is very nice and well maintained, and it also offers a well furnished SPA. The staff has been very kind, warm but professional and the food was also great, both at breakfast and at the restaurant for dinner. Our room was not big but it was well organized and super clean and well maintained. Amenities were also good.

When we visited this hotel the train line was interrupted. The hotel is at ~10 minutes hike from the train station, which would not have been too bad (without luggage), but during our time guests had to park pretty far away, take 2 busses to reach the train station and then walk for 10 minutes carrying their luggage. I'm a pretty active person but it was very hot in these days and I have to admit that I didn't love it.

The location is lovely as long as you don't mind a bit of a hill. The walk up to the hotel is through woodland with places to stop and things to see on the way up so I wouldn't worry. As long as you have a minimum fitness level and enjoy good views you'll be fine. The view from the Hotel is lovely and in the evening the view of Zurich is verging on spectacular. The Room was huge and the window shutter and ceiling fan kept the room cool when necessary. The Shower was very nice.

Can get a little noisy at night but only one of the evenings and we were there on a summer weekend.

Lovely hotel on a hill top overlooking Zurich. Busy with people walking/ cycling in the day and quiet at night. Views are amazing. Book to go in the spa - no pool but maximum.of 4 so never overcrowded. There's a sauna/ steam room / tropical shower with jets / normal shower/ ice cave. Restaurant was beautiful with very good food. We had a very chilled weekend.

Only criticism and it's out of the hotel's control; is that the train that runs up the mountain was closed due to repairs and a bus was used. It was a bit of nightmare trying to find the bus and then ringing the hotel but all sorted in the end.

The views from the hotel restaurant and my room balcony were exceptional. You could see Lake Zurich and all the forested hills and villages. It is not called The Top of Zurich for nothing. The restaurant was excellent but nearly double the price of a similar meal in the UK.

The hotel didn't seem to have any lounge facilities or if it did I didn't find them. It seemed to be the narrow corridor to the lift or the large and sumptuous restaurant. Not an ideal place to just enjoy a drink and read a book it seemed. There also wasn't a mirror in my room near an electrical point for my hairdryer. I had to 'guess' how my hair looked as I dried it! An important omission for a woman!

Very friendly helpful staff and we had been upgraded to a bigger room which was very nice . Lovely mountain top location with fabulous views over Zurich. The area outside the hotel was busy with hikers and bicycle riders and there is a cafe set up serving food and drinks. Hotel restaurant had good meals but very expensive.

The hotel description on booking.com says to catch a train from the main Zurich Station. We purçhased our tickets and after enquiring from helpful young local, we found out we now had to catch the train and 2 buses which was very difficult with our luggage. We saw enroute that part of the train line is under repair and hotel staff advised it will not be running again for several months. This information should be changed on all booking sites!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by exceptionally friendly staff who made us feel welcome right away. The hotel has a calm, relaxing atmosphere—perfect for unwinding and clearing your mind. The rooms were comfortable, tastefully decorated, and the addition of a coffee machine was a lovely touch that made mornings even better. Breakfast was a highlight: a generous buffet with a wide selection of fresh, tasty options served in the beautiful Panorama restaurant. The views while dining made the experience even more enjoyable.

One small downside: we arrived quite late, around 22:30–22:40, and unfortunately there was no food available—not even a vending machine for a quick snack. After a long journey, that was a bit of a letdown. It would be great if the hotel could offer at least a small 24-hour food option in the future. Overall though, it was a peaceful, pleasant stay, and I’d definitely return!

It's one of our all time favorite places to stay, just magical to see the sun rise and set from there, and see the moon rise and the stars appear at night. The fresh air and the hotel cat is also great.

We had some issues with the cleaning staff, rolling up our blinds and leaving the window wide open on the ground floor. First of all, someone could easily take stuff from the room, without even crawling in the window, but nothing was though. But since they also left the light on the room was full of mosquitoes, when we came back late at night. We were offered a different room, so we wouldn't have to chase mosquitos, but we were tired after a long day and didn't want to pack everything and move either. Unfortunate that it happened, but we can't complain about the will to rectify the situation. Still had a great stay and the general staff was nothing but nice and accommodating.
