Everything about Engimattstrasse City Hotel was top notch. All staff were pleasant and helpful; our room was spacious and very clean. Loved that there was ample space for luggage and storage of clothes. Lots of outlets for our use (not consumed by things already plugged in). Breakfast setting was lovely and the offerings generous. Location away from the busy central area and easily accessed by tram. Street was quiet and the neighborhood interesting and safe to walk. We walked to the harbor, one hill but otherwise very easy and pleasant. Needed a polarfleece jacket washed on a Sunday; outside laundry service not available; hotel housekeeping did it for same charge & had it back before day’s end. Balcony had a great view. Highly recommend.

The location is great - quiet and within walking distance for some destinations, very close to an array of public transport options (trams, trains, buses). I was on vacation, but the hotel is also a good option for a business trip. The staff and service are good. The room is large enough, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and sufficiently diverse (a note - the restaurant is quite good, too).

Depending on the other hotel guests, the walls can feel a bit thin. The wooden floors definitely can generate a bit of noise.

The room was comfortable although air conditioning would be a bonus, however an electric fan was supplied on request. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent location to explore the city with tram stops nearby. We cannot comment on breakfast as we did not use this facility. The underground car park was secure and clean.

The balcony was only furnished with one chair which was inadequate as there were two of us.

Exceptionally clean, well positioned, staff were fantastic and when the sun is out, sitting out in the rear gardens was just an added bonus

Rooms are described as having walk in showers , this in not factually correct and there is a high step. My disabled 82 year old mum struggled to get in unaided as a result. If she was a wheelchair user, the only room option is the suite. This needs clarifying on the pages.

Very clean and modern property. We really loved everything. Great staff, especially Mr.Anastasiadis who responded exceptionally to multiple requests we had. Highly recommend it!

The room temperature was fixed at 21 degrees Celsius, which we couldn’t manually change. It felt kinda cold for us. However Mr.Anastasiadis provided it us immediately with a portable heater that solved the issue.

The hotel seems that has gone through a recent renovation and the rooms were amazing. Super comfy bed, fantastic lighting, with coffee maker provided, all details into account. Staff was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant was fantastic with a great ambience and view to the garden. The breakfast was just perfect!

They do not have a gym or fitness center, which seems to be something that many hotels in Switzerland are lacking. Swiss do not seem to be very font to indoor gyms. Nowadays this is a must have for hotels! :( Although, they offered the option of a private gym around the corner at a cost of 19 CHF per day.

The beast part of the stay, and this was an amazing surprise for us traveling with a dog - was the fact that there was a terrace right outside the window. Absolutely loved it. Also, there is a shopping mall and plenty of restaurants in the walking distance.

First impression wasn't great - as we entered the hotel we smelt cigarette smoke. Not sure if it's normal in Switzerland, it's not a thing one would expect in the country we're coming from.

The beds were comfortable. Our room had a balcony, a fridge/mini bar and air conditioning. The continental breakfast buffet was very good. Staff were friendly. The tram stop was about three minutes walk away. The hotel had a tennis court. Despite our balcony being close to the motorway, there were lots of trees and the road was well hidden and there was hardly any sound. Friendly and efficient - this is Switzerland!

There was a coffee machine in the room but not a kettle.

Lovely, modern hotel on a quiet street with quick access to public transport and the the rest of the city. Air conditioning and electric window shades were fantastic to have in hot July weather. Breakfast buffet was fresh, plentiful, and delicious, and eating in the garden terrace was especially nice!

The shower drain was quite slow, we adjusted water pressure but it seemed like there must be a blockage somewhere lower down the pipes.

We did not book for breakfast. The staff were great and very friendly. l love them. The staff helped us a lot by calling taxi for us and telling us were the restaurants were, they also gave us a 10% voucher when we went to chocolate factory. They also changed my room when I complained about the bed on the first room. Location was perfect and right in town and close to shopping centre. Location was great and perfect.

Glasses on all the tables. One got clacked as put my elbow on the table when looking at something with my husband on the laptop and I had to pay for it. They came and removed it. This made me uncomfortable so I was not free much in the room. overall the room was great and the hotel service was great.
