Location and the size of the room (for Istanbul rooms were large). Jalal at reception went out of his way to ensure I was comfortable (thank you).

My room was large for an older city urban accommodation so that was great. The bed was very comfortable. The AC worked well so I slept well. The bathroom was small but I wasn’t it long enough that it was a problem. The location was excellent! I could walk to all the major areas for sightseeing! The staff at the hotel were most welcoming, very warm and friendly and kind. Also the attached restaurant the Cajun Bull was very good too, not expensive and the staff there were also lovely people. I got a good price on the room too. I would definitely stay here again.

The property is in the heart of the old town. Perfect location less than 10 minutes from Galata Bridge. The room is spacious and I was upgraded to a deluxe instead of standard. The highlight of the property is the staff. Everyone extremely nice and friendly, especially Ibrahimovic who was very helpful.

The hotel is located on a very busy road. If you sleep with windows open it can be quite loud. Also cleaning wasn’t the best.

The location of the hotel is perfect! So close to all the restaurants and coffee shops. Galata bridge is just 5 minutes away. The hosts were super kind and friendly, the room was very clean. The bathroom needs a little refreshing, but it was ok.

The only thing we didn't like was that you can really hear everything happening in the hallway and it was noisy during the night. Also you can hear the noise from outside. May be they can think of soundproofing the rooms. Everything else was great!

The best location is the biggest value of this hotel. It's in the heart of Karakoy -- the most colourful and youthful district of the European side of Istanbul. The hotel is surrounded by numerous little restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, and the newly constructed fancy Galata Port is within 5-10 minutes of walking (and so is the Istanbul Modern Art Museum). The second remarkable point to mention is the staff of the hotel - so nice, so welcoming, so helpful! You feel cared and looked after all the time!

The room is a bit on the smaller side. If you travel alone then this is not a problem, however for two people it will be a bit snug in there :) Also, if you do not like stairs - then you might think twice, as stairs are rather high and steep and there's no elevator.

location is great; I love Karakoy area after Galata Port was build; it’s both cozy, trendy and well connected; I had superior room which was good size for one person but would be quite tight for two staff was nice; offered tea/ coffee on arrival and helped to book a taxi back to the airport; bed was comfortable; wi fi was sufficient for working though not top quality (I would be hesitant to do a large video meeting); good shower; there is no breakfast but there is a cafe on site if one wants a bite or a good cup of coffee.

everything was good; note that it’s a simple hotel (ex. no elevator, quite small simple rooms), so plan accordingly.

We’ve had a 11-night stay at Genoa Port Hotel. Excellent welcome and consistent quality service. Having notified them of our wedding anniversary, they surprised us with both an upgrade and a beautifully decorated room (balloons, flowers, rose petals…), such a wonderful gesture ! Ufuk is a very thoughtful hotel manager who was always glad to point us to the right direction, give us suggestions/tips for restaurants, sightseeing and tell us about Istanbul and Turkey in general. The hotel is in a up and coming neighborhood that reminds us a lot of Soho (NY): it is one street behind a diverse array of street food, gourmet restaurants and bars within one vibrant areas. It is also at a 5mn walk from Galataport, another trendy area right in front of the water with great restaurants and shopping. Genoa is near the metro, bus and funicular stations. Moving around whether to Sultanahmet, Besiktas, or anywhere really was simple. Wifi works great, rooms are kept clean and the bedding is comfortable. We have been to two other hotels during our stay in Turkey. It is hands down our best experience. Thank you Ufuk and team and see you on our next trip to Istanbul in sha Allah !

The hotel is located in great area, close to everything. Ufuk is a gentle and friendly owner, he helped us in every possible way, we arrived on a Sunday and everything was closed, he provided us with a phone card, money exchange, guided us into all the places we wanted to see,even reserved online tickets for us for the ferry to izmir. We came with one bag and coming back with 5, we called him and he was very willing to keep the bags for us until we leave istanbul. I strongly recommend to stay in his hotel.

The hotel is totally new and near to many shops and restaurants . Also Mr. Ufuk is very kind man and very helpful and you will feel like home . For sure my next time will be there .
