Reception staff were excellent (in particular Jamie and James). The room was spacious and the hotel ambience excellent. The duty manager dealt with a check in delay and cleanliness complaint we had very well.

A very strange member of staff casually dressed behind reception who later we realised was some sort of concierge there to help, but he came across initially as some sort of security guard eyeing us suspiciously and interfering with the check in process and undermining the receptionist. We felt ill at ease when he was around. Our check-in process was delayed as although the room had been cleaned it supposedly needed inspecting. This caused an unnecessary hour delay. When we got to the room there were numerous hairs in the bathroom and clearly had not been cleaned properly or inspected! Dirty windows but we were 7 floors up so I guess difficult to clean.

All very good except a few accidental details, which are easily fixed.

-Breakfast: Some people are queuing by the pulpit for breakfast. Put a sign on it: ”To Breakfast-—>” Put ham- and cheese slices near the toast. Put cereal and bowls near each other. Label the cupboards with teacups etc. The toaster sometimes throws the bread out on the floor. Room 825: -Remote battery was weak: Point it away from tv and press ”on”. if not working; replace batteries. -Bathroom:825 Flush buttons do not return properly. Conditioner not yet refilled (for 5 days). -Fridge: Please put in more items than 2 small milk cartons: such as bottled water and juice etc. —————— With thanks for my pleasant stay at Dorsett Hotel, Per Wilen

Clean spacious room. Very friendly and helpful staff. The soaps and shower gels were briliant! Great location and generous breakfast. Very comfortable bed and all the towels you could possibly need!

Poor breakfast with long wait for eggs which were overdone/underdone. Loud music in pool. The gym is good, but with 9 machines to do cardio on and no fan, it is clear that it was designed by someone who does not exercise. The aircon goes as low as 19 which does not cut it when doing cardio indoors. The rooms were great, but the amount if bright lights when going to sleep were ridiculous. The wellness room is just an empty room.

I got a free upgrade, which was lovely. I had asked for a quiet room and that was exactly what I got. Location was walkable to Southern Cross station (one of the reasons I picked it), even with a heavy suitcase. Only 5 - 10 mins walk to various areas of the CBD. I checked out early as had a train to catch, which was then cancelled so they kindly let me check back in to my room. Room was huge for one person (no complaints!), lovely bathroom. Very large and very comfortable bed. People working there were lovely. I didn't use the swimming pool and spa facilties so can't comment on them. Also, Ritz-Carlton is 1 min walk away and they have an amazing rooftop lounge and bar with incredible views.

Bar was a bit of a disappointment. I was on the ground floor, relatively small and very little atmosphere. Also, the bar wasn't open at times specified (only matters as female travelling alone, it's always good to have somewhere to go in the hotel).

A wonderful modern relaxed vibe, from the moment we arrived, we felt well attended to by the friendly welcoming staff. The room was beautifully presented, neat and clean with everything that we needed for our 3 night stay, including bathrobes.My daughter especially loved the drawer in the bathroom where she could store her makeup. The swimming pool and spa was wonderful to relax in and unwind. The breakfast buffet was on point and set in a beautiful relaxing room. Having the pop-up coffee and pastries out of the window at the jin bar was a fabulous treat during the morning. I am definitely coming back again to stay with my children.

The bed was a little firmer than I would have liked.

Restaurant dinner was very nice. Bedroom was very comfortable. Lovely big walk-in shower! Convenient location, especially for shops.

Only one hand towel was provided. We never understand this concept. We feel it is unhygienic to be expected to share a hand towel. However, we asked for a second one and it was provided, but we really shouldn't have had to do so. We had dinner in the restaurant. However, there was a bit of misunderstanding about 'Happy Hour'. This should have been more clearly explained somewhere. Happy Hour to us means two drinks for the price of one. However, apparently it wasn't that at all and it was only available on two or three drinks, but even then, it wasn't on a two for one basis.

The location was good - lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The tram was just around the corner and were able to access other great parts of the city.

The parking was expensive per night. $70. The room had a window looking into the courtyard - this meant that there was no sunlight in the morning. We were told this was an upgraded room. Maybe because of the sculpture in the courtyard - yet we would have preferred sunlight. The room lacked a robe and slippers -these are convenient for guests when accessing the pool. We had to put towels around us to go up the lift and access the pool. Most hotels have robes in each room for guests to use.

Close to where we went football and resteraunt.

The bed was very hard for us and pillows didn’t suit. Breakfast resteraunt staff good but some not trained correct as asking to take plate leaning over and about to take it while still having food on it in front of my wife, and while she still had cutlery in hand. While I was waiting for coffee machine making my coffee, staff trying to put mugs in draw near my legs, should have waited till I finished. And also staff making loud noise with cutlery putting in something at main desk for a long time, customers at tables not able to hear them selfs talk, should be done somewhere else. Also something I thaught was good was $10 discount on food/drink for not getting room serviced as we only stayed 2 nights.

Only stayed for one night but was very happy with our room (3 ladies staying together). The shower was divine and the pool and spa pool and steam rooms were my fave. I felt so relaxed even only having 30 mins up there. I so loved the smell when I walked into reception that I bought the reed diffuser to take home with me. Loved the hallways and loved all the artworks. We were in and out a lot and so it was a great visit and would stay again. Excellent location for Southern Cross Station.

Not enough cups in the room. It had two beds so it was a room for 4 people but only had 2 cups and 2 glasses. Also, thought we should have been provided with bathrobes so we could go to the pool so that was a bit disappointing. For a 4-star hotel I did expect that.

The venue was lovely and clean, the staff all very friendly and helpful. It has a very classy feel but also caters to family's with a small arcade area in the foyer and a great indoor heated pool. The room was spacious and felt luxurious. The hotel location is decent and quite central. Its not far from the free tram but is also within walking distance from Melbourne Central Queen Vic market My son did ask if we could stay here again

Not sure if they were short staffed but there were a couple of minor issues. Check in was 3pm but my room wasn't ready for a further 45 min - I was offered a complimentary drink in the bar, which was nice as an acknowledgement to the fact we were not able to access our room. The conditioner bottle in the shower was basically empty. The pool has a section for towels which was fully stocked in the evening but when we went back around 8:30am the next morning, there were no towels available. We were at the pool for almost an hour before someone came in to re-stock these. Finaly, finding our way back to the lift from our was like a maze. I dont think it was clearly signed
