Reception staff were excellent (in particular Jamie and James). The room was spacious and the hotel ambience excellent. The duty manager dealt with a check in delay and cleanliness complaint we had very well.

A very strange member of staff casually dressed behind reception who later we realised was some sort of concierge there to help, but he came across initially as some sort of security guard eyeing us suspiciously and interfering with the check in process and undermining the receptionist. We felt ill at ease when he was around. Our check-in process was delayed as although the room had been cleaned it supposedly needed inspecting. This caused an unnecessary hour delay. When we got to the room there were numerous hairs in the bathroom and clearly had not been cleaned properly or inspected! Dirty windows but we were 7 floors up so I guess difficult to clean.

All very good except a few accidental details, which are easily fixed.

-Breakfast: Some people are queuing by the pulpit for breakfast. Put a sign on it: ”To Breakfast-—>” Put ham- and cheese slices near the toast. Put cereal and bowls near each other. Label the cupboards with teacups etc. The toaster sometimes throws the bread out on the floor. Room 825: -Remote battery was weak: Point it away from tv and press ”on”. if not working; replace batteries. -Bathroom:825 Flush buttons do not return properly. Conditioner not yet refilled (for 5 days). -Fridge: Please put in more items than 2 small milk cartons: such as bottled water and juice etc. —————— With thanks for my pleasant stay at Dorsett Hotel, Per Wilen

Clean spacious room. Very friendly and helpful staff. The soaps and shower gels were briliant! Great location and generous breakfast. Very comfortable bed and all the towels you could possibly need!

Poor breakfast with long wait for eggs which were overdone/underdone. Loud music in pool. The gym is good, but with 9 machines to do cardio on and no fan, it is clear that it was designed by someone who does not exercise. The aircon goes as low as 19 which does not cut it when doing cardio indoors. The rooms were great, but the amount if bright lights when going to sleep were ridiculous. The wellness room is just an empty room.

Short walk from southern cross station. Laundromat on a nearby side street. Every staff member was lovely and professional. Food was tasty and well prepared. Every part of the hotel was stylish.

Check in "robot" that still required interaction with a person to get my keys. $200 security deposit which was a bit steep considering there were no incidentals at all in the room. No extra blankets, pillows or robes. Online app for room service never worked. Air con didn't really warm the room enough, and the coolest setting was too hot for sleeping. Too much noise from guests in the corridor. Bed was comfortable but too firm for my liking. No note paper and pen in the room

I enjoyed EVERYTHING!, the hotel was incredible 10/10 , the space was very clean, beds were so comfy we had the best sleep of our lives, sometimes it was hard to get out of bed. The front reception was so beautiful, this hotel is well catered to all travellers including families, my partner and I enjoyed the Jin bar , the cocktails were exceptional! service at EVERY point of contact was great , we were lost finding our room and a friendly cleaner was very helpful to help us in the right direction, always so kind and helpful the staff in the morning making coffee were always smiling, attentive, happy and made the best coffees ever ! they even had delicious crossants and pastries in the morning by the Jin bar area. I was so surprised our rooms were ready early so we were able to check in abit earlier. There was also a cute mini arcade for big kids and younger kids pinball machines and the best was space invaders , Theres also a 24 hour drinks machine that makes matcha , protein shakes and coffee, nice facilities and my partner loves the gym there was a cute little bean bag area for the kids to watch tv. The hotel had a boutique feel, lighting was very calming and very luxurious. Location wise it was easy to walk to the train station and Close by shopping at The Spencer outlet which was soo good !

The property is modern, clean with lovely staff that were professional and accommodating with our questions and requests. Pool and jacuzzi were clean, in operation, and with towels available for use for the sauna and wet areas. Great gym too! Breakfast was adequate to fill the belly! My boys aged 16 and 19 loved this hotel. Nice touches with an arcade games table top, pinball machines and a drinks machine in the foyer area, tucked away in a quiet corner for use when waiting or kids requiring something fun and engaging for a short while. Room was beautiful and quiet, beds were comfy and shower was hot and powerful. 10 out of ten for us. Thank you.

Nothing We liked everything.

I got a free upgrade, which was lovely. I had asked for a quiet room and that was exactly what I got. Location was walkable to Southern Cross station (one of the reasons I picked it), even with a heavy suitcase. Only 5 - 10 mins walk to various areas of the CBD. I checked out early as had a train to catch, which was then cancelled so they kindly let me check back in to my room. Room was huge for one person (no complaints!), lovely bathroom. Very large and very comfortable bed. People working there were lovely. I didn't use the swimming pool and spa facilties so can't comment on them. Also, Ritz-Carlton is 1 min walk away and they have an amazing rooftop lounge and bar with incredible views.

Bar was a bit of a disappointment. I was on the ground floor, relatively small and very little atmosphere. Also, the bar wasn't open at times specified (only matters as female travelling alone, it's always good to have somewhere to go in the hotel).

A wonderful modern relaxed vibe, from the moment we arrived, we felt well attended to by the friendly welcoming staff. The room was beautifully presented, neat and clean with everything that we needed for our 3 night stay, including bathrobes.My daughter especially loved the drawer in the bathroom where she could store her makeup. The swimming pool and spa was wonderful to relax in and unwind. The breakfast buffet was on point and set in a beautiful relaxing room. Having the pop-up coffee and pastries out of the window at the jin bar was a fabulous treat during the morning. I am definitely coming back again to stay with my children.

The bed was a little firmer than I would have liked.

It’s close to shops in the city. The hotel does have a fancy feel.

The breakfast buffet was very busy after 9am. It wasn’t worth the money from what was left at this time. My coffee wasn’t made and when asked, I was told it wasn’t order, so I had to wait after finishing breakfast for my brewed coffee. No towels were available in the pool area on our first day for hours and we only had been provided 2x towels in our room for two nights. I found this incredibly inconvenient as I was hoping to use the facilities more. Eventually staff restocked towels in the pool area later that evening.

From the time we arrived we were greeted with a glass of wine and the loveliest of people. The staff so welcoming and friendly. The property is perfectly located in the CBD and is walking distance to many restaurants and shops, as well as the tram line. Ubers are easily accessible. The hotel is a little gem, the facilities clean and comfortable. The indoor pool, with jacuzzi and steam room and sauna are stunning, the water temp beautiful in the middle of winter. The rooms are lovely, with a beautiful Japanese feel, the decor just lovely. Highly recommend for anyone, single, families, friends

The bed was a little too firm and the air con in the foyer quite cold. But that’s all I would say.
