Our stay was perfect. All promised was delivered. The view of the sea was fantastic, the bed was comfortable, the towels were great, and having the kitchenette available made our stay much more relaxed. The location is also fantastic - just by the sea, close to shops, supermarkets, cafes, and cultural events. The housekeeper was extremely gentle and helpful, from the house maintenance to his kind behaviour on our last day, helping with the luggage storage.

It is important to pay attention to the comments about the stair flights - it can be hard for some guests. The floors and walls are thin, allowing sounds from neighbours, depending on who they are. The only actual issue we had was with the bathroom door, and it was quickly fixed, right after we mentioned the issue, respecting our schedule.

We stayed in Room 2 on the ground floor. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who explained about the keypads to gain entry to the room. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed comfy. It was rather warm but we turned the radiator off, and could open the window for ventilation. The rooms upstairs were a bit noisy but I guess some people don’t know the sound of their own voices!! 2 plates/bowls/sets of cutlery/glasses/teacups were provided, but although there was cooking facilities in the shape of 2 rings, there were no pans to use and no sharp knives to prep a meal. There was a microwave which we didn’t use, and a kettle, and a fridge. It was a 15 minute walk to the town, 20 minutes to the train station, and a 5 minute stroll to the sea. Lots of eating places within easy reach although check weekend opening hours, and small supermarkets.

Let’s talk about the shower! Water was hot and the shower head great but it must be the smallest shower tray known to man and unless the shower curtain was in EXACTLY the right position the water sprayed and flooded the floor! And the shower curtain had a tendency to wrap itself around the body whilst showering! Could’ve been a great comedy sketch!!

This place is in a great location, very convenient to get to. I also liked the size of the room, very spacious. I like the various facilities that are in the room, and how warm the room was on such a cold night outside.

The only downside I found, was the location had this smell of smoke (or something to that effect). Which was slightly concerning. I mean, you can open the windows and it fades away, you don't really notice it. But, that scent lingered on my clothes when I had left.

We had a pleasant stay at Amherst. We stayed in one of the larger rooms, which included a kitchen and an en suite. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is excellent, with a view of the beach from the room and just a short walk to bars, restaurants, and shops. Check-in was straightforward. I would happily return for another great and affordable stay in Brighton.

Although there is a small kitchen, it is not particularly well-equipped, making it inconvenient for cooking.

The room was very big. A King size bed, en-suite bathroom, 2 seater sofa, Tv, kitchenette with microwave, fridge, kettle, 2 ring hob and small dining table. There were plenty of refreshment sachets. We had a sea view. Its location was great close to shops, cafes, the beach and local buses.We loved it. It was very comfortable and cosy. We will book again next time but will request a lower room if it offers the same facilities.

We were in room 9 on the top floor which meant we had 64 steps to climb to get to the room. Fortunately we were both fit and able so it wasn't too much of a problem.. The carpet wasn't very clean on arrival but after vacuuming it was ok except for a large wine stain. We also had a minor power issue but that was quickly sorted. The bed height was a little low compared to what we're used to but it was very comfy.

The key code mix up. Locked out of my room twice as key code was changed between day and night. Mix up with room allocated . Was sent two key codes for two separate rooms (as was another guest across the hall from me). But all sorted out by management the next morning

Great location with a sea view from the room! (ROOM 7) Keyless entry entrance to building & bedroom sent to you 24hrs prior to your stay, bigger than expected with everything you need to cook if you like to all washing & cooking facilities provided, bath shower, nice size Tv, comfortable bed, table and chairs, microwave & twin stove! Lovely view from the room, greeted by Indian man who helped if needed and very polite and showed us around the room and everything we needed to access everything! Amazing stay and price was great! Only stayed 1 night for a getaway but will be staying again for longer!

Only downfall was the parking had to park 2 streets down and is £2.90 an hr on New street! But other than that I couldn’t fault it at all!

The property was beautiful and in a gorgeous location. We stayed in the apartment with a seaside view and it was lovely. Easy to walk everywhere from the location and plenty of things do see and do nearby. The apartment bed was also extremely comfortable and the room was tidy and spacious.

Everything was perfect except for the lack of cooking utensils in the apartment (no pan, toaster etc), kitchen was great apart from that and had lots of storage space.

I absolutely loved this property. Firstly, I was very impressed how quickly the email came through confirming details. I was also impressed that all details were included in the email. I have booked accommodation before now and all the details are on a pdf, I am in an area with poor wifi and I don't have enough wifi to download the pdf and read it. Secondly the key worked really well on the main door and door of the place. Thirdly, the place was beautiful, warm and well-decorated. It was not showy but everything really worked. Lovely hot water in the shower, windows double-glazed, bed really comfy and warm.

Just one suggestion - the curtain were a bit thin so you could see the lights of traffic going past. Please could you get them lined or get thicker curtains. Thicker curtains would be more energy-efficient too!
