Great location in Clifton, friendly staff, clean tidy, good value for money.

Bed mattress was a little too soft. Could hear someone snoring and it wasn’t my husband.

The Victoria Square Hotel is great for my weekend training stays. They have always been very helpful and accommodating. This stay was again in the building next to the hotel and the room was fine for what I needed. Basic, but nice shower and all the amenities you would need or expect. The rooms I stay in are towards the top of the building so quite a steep climb up flights of stairs but this was fine for me. Breakfast was delicious as well. Really good stay again.

Parking is always a bit of a nightmare around the area but I have managed to find roads that work when the car park is full. If you plan in advance you could usually get in.

Have returned repeatedly to this hotel as it offers good value for money in a great location. You have leafy Clifton just outside the door and can walk to practically anywhere in central Bristol. The staff are all exceedingly friendly and breakfast is more than enough to see you through most of the day: apart from the choices you also get toast and cereals. Despite being in quite a busy area, the rooms are not too loud and I had no problems sleeping on that account. Bathroom all fine and with a fair amount of space.

The rooms was a little cramped with no huge place to put clothes, but for a short stay that's no problem. Major issues this time was the bed - too soft and uneven to allow my wife and me a comfortable night's rest. Shame, as otherwise all brilliant.

We had booked three rooms, all were good, particularly the large double. Our rooms all looked to the back garden and were wonderfully quiet, with very comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly, and we were thrilled at roses being put in the room to celebrate my mother’s 95th birthday. Good breakfast, with poached eggs cooked to perfection (though scrambled eggs were overdone) . Attentive service despite being very busy.

Difficult entry to reception and breakfast for disabled or elderly people. It would have been nice if a table for four had been available / set up for us at breakfast. This was a minor issue though.

One of the best hotels in the Clifton area. Despite the old building, the room is newly renovated, cozy and clean. The heating is quite strong, but it is adjustable, so you will not have trouble getting the right temperature. There is tea, coffee in the room, and in the bathroom, toiletries. (And they smell delicious!) The bus stop is right outside the hotel, which is very convenient. There are also several supermarkets nearby.

As in all old houses in Great Britain, there are very steep stairs, so you will have to sweat with your luggage. But if you have chosen the Clifton area to live in, you can consider yourself prepared for this. =)

Lovely hotel and room opening directly to the beautiful back garden. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Perfect location. Very friendly staff.

Unfortunately the breakfast was really underwhelming. 20 min wait despite the prebooking system in the nearly empty room for a very sad plate with one lonely toasted muffin + 2 eggs + far too salty low grade smoked salmon chunks that I could not eat. I wish I would have booked the room only and taken my breakfast in one of those absolutely lovely cafés nearby in Clifton village with amazing food. Lesson learned for next time and friendly advice : avoid booking the breakfast at the hotel! Go nearby !

After booking I called the hotel and explained that it was for our wedding night. Not only did they give us one of the nicest and largest rooms in the property but they were very congratulatory and even wrote a nice message which was placed next to our towels which had been shaped like swans. The rooms were immaculate, the beds were comfortable and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially the front of desk staff.

Only issue we had was that the shower head leaked in our bathroom when in use. However as we were only staying for 2 nights and used it once each we didn't feel the need to mention it. I have a feeling if we had of done it would have been fixed promptly.

We loved our short stay here! The small hotel is in a lovely Victorian era building. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff very helpful. The location is perfect. There’s a bus stop right outside that easily gets you to the central city or Bristol train station in just a few minutes. It’s a short walk through the picturesque Victoria Square Park to the lovely Clifton Village where there are plenty of great restaurants, shops and cafes (can recommend Mercy Mercy for excellent coffee). A short walk from there is the majestic Clifton Suspension Bridge and surrounding park, a must see if visiting Bristol. If you’re a Banksy fan, we were pleased to discover several of his works on buildings in central Bristol.

The location was very nice with lots of listed buildings. Our room was very pleasant and clean. Due to some disability issues we were allocated a room at ground level which was excellent. The staff were very nice and even helped with carrying our bags. There was an excellent en suite bathroom with a large shower. Our room wasconvieniently close to the hotel,s private car park. The breakfast was nice with plenty of options.

The car park was quite difficult to get to with a few awkward bends around the hotel to get to it. Due to the building being a grade II listed building the main building had no lift up to reception and to the dining room so having to climb up some stairs was a little difficult for my wife but we were aware of this before hand so not really complaining about this.

The hotel is in a beautiful location in Clifton. There is parking on site for an extra charge, so is very convenient. The staff are welcoming and attentive. The hotel exudes authentic Georgian features, and overlooks the leafy green square. Our bedroom was a small double room but was spacious enough and very comfortable. Breakfast was well cooked and very tasty. All in all a really lovely stay.

Our room was next to the hotel car park and we were woken up around 5am by bin men collecting the wheelie bins (Friday) and a bit later on, around 6am, by a car being parked playing loud music - possibly a staff member arriving for their shift?
