Dorm room has ensuite toilet and shower, each bed has built-in usb port for charging. All beds are beside the wall, both head and tail are covered so privacy is good. Big dining room and lounge room. Theres a bike and scooter parking spot right in front of the hostel.

Kitchen doesnt have big size bowl. The lockers are too small. The luggage room can only be opened by calling the staff, sometimes it took a while for them to respond.

extensive kitchen facilities with lot of cutlery etc enough for everyone, staff very good and cleaned up plates cutlery and pots left over after the night that people didnt clean themselves. staff very friendly and helpful, always there working even at 2am in the morning when kitchen closed. lots of toilet rolls.

lack of soap bars , i brought my own but it went walkies. breakfast should open up earlier than 8am.

Very clean, people in the room considerate young travellers, with no dodgy personalities or weirdness. I stayed only 1 night and had a good night’s sleep and a good shower. Staff at the reception were friendly.

It’s a hostel - you need to sacrifice privacy and own comfort - but as far as hostels go, this is a very good one.

Absolutely gorgeous building with very quick access to transport nearby. Beautiful entry hall and lovely staff, everything laid out well and understandable. Easy check-in process with everything you need mentioned upfront. I booked a 6-bed but was thankfully put in a 4-bed, smaller but quieter. I absolutely loved the mattress, it was so comfortable, I had absolutely amazing sleep.

Bathroom was a bit grimy, especially the shower. Unfortunately the bunkbeds are metal and squeak with every movement; this one little detail will mean I never booked this place again because I do tend to move around in bed before settling for sleep.

The Astor hostel is one of my favourite places. Everything is conveniently located nearby, including local food shops, laundry facilities, off-licenses, Tesco, and petrol stations. It's perfectly situated near Hyde Park and the opera house. The reception staff are wonderful, speaking both English and American accents, and hand sanitiser is readily available everywhere. The kitchen is very clean, and the dining area is spacious. My favorite feature is the cinema room, where I can chill with crisps and drinks, watching Netflix with fellow travelers from across the GB country, EU, and US. The bedrooms are also very clean, and I booked for a month, extending my stay multiple times. The hostel operates 24/7, with secure entry via code and card access. The architecture reminds me of a military private school – impressive! All workers at the reception provided professional service throughout my stay, from day one to my last day.

Great location , good facilities, good size kitchen dining room and lounge with large TV screen.

Being a dug out for eating meat by vegans and vegetarians in the kitchen and dining area. Making me feel quite uncomfortable. After cooking my food twice, I then went out to restaurants when I could eat my food without being judged. I have the impression that the vegans were staff members if I'm wrong I apologize. Reading a good book in the living room area by reception. Went to the kitchen to get my food. To find the living Room in darkness curtains drawn and a film on, after staying at this great hostel several times, this time I had the impression that the hostel was being run for the staff. Yet again if I'm wrong I apologize. After that negative rant lol. I've still had a great time and would definitely recommend the hostel to anybody.

The location of the hostel is excellent, it is very much in the high street Kensington and a stones throw away from Royal Albert Hall. We made some last minute plans to attend concerts at RAH since we stayed so close. The place is very safe and not noisy. Hyde park is very near. It is value for money, we ended up extending the stay. The reception is manned 24hrs. The staff are very sweet and helpful.

The dorms have 3 level bunk beds, It was not adequately ventilated. You have to get your padlock or rent one from the reception. There is no lift since it is a very old building, if your rooms and in upper floors good luck to you :P

I stayed in a 10 bed female dorm for four nights and had a pleasant stay. The bed was reasonably comfy, the room spacious, there was lockable space that could fit a large suitcase under the bed and many ports to charge devices. The bathroom floor could’ve been cleaner (just a bit of dirt and some hairs on the floor sometimes) but with ten people going in and out all day it’s not always possible to clean properly. The hostels location was great; plenty of fun restaurants and shops nearby and great connections to public transport. All in all, for the price it’s definitely worth it! If I’m ever in London again for a few days I’d definitely go back here.

This place is characterful and almost palatial, located near South Kensington and the Natural History Museum in one of the world's most luxurious neighbourhoods. It's well located, in an area nice all of itself and not far from the Piccadilly line - some very nice watering holes locally though be aware it is about £10 a pint at the time of writing! As soon as I got there, tired and bedraggled, staff were extremely kind and helpful. Has a comfortable TV room that looks like something from a period drama, and downstairs is a large kitchen, dining area and chilling area for all the digital nomads. I really liked the room, again firm triple-decker 'pod' type beds with light and multi-sockets, though no privacy curtain. There's also a useful 'workbench' in the middle of the room where people can recharge phones, work off laptops, sit and read magazines etc - a useful functional space I thought. Bathrooms seem to be slightly at a premium with one inside the room and two outside it, so once or twice I had to rush to the ground floor - but the toilets themselves were modern and clean with a decent hot power shower, usually the weak point of many an otherwise fine hostel. I loved it here personally, and will be sure to come again!

Nothing negative to report, I really liked it here. Just for awareness be advised that at key times all the bathrooms on a floor may be in use and you'll have to go elsewhere. Also know that there isn't a bar or restaurant on site though plenty large fridges and cupboards for own food plus microwaves and a sticker marking system

I booked a 4-bed female-only ensuite room. The room was very clean, so were the beds and the bathroom/toilet. I also liked the decor in the spaces. The prices were so budget-friendly for 1 night, and then breakfast, and I even ended up using their storage facility for a few hours after my checkout.

As a first-time hostel traveller, there wasn't a lot of guidance? The receptionists were quite helpful; other than that, I had to figure breakfast out once I got to the location. They were just talking amongst themselves, and people just had to figure it out, as there was no opening to ask. I was worried if I was doing something wrong.
