All good. So far the best hostel I stayed in London

Dorm room has ensuite toilet and shower, each bed has built-in usb port for charging. All beds are beside the wall, both head and tail are covered so privacy is good. Big dining room and lounge room. Theres a bike and scooter parking spot right in front of the hostel.

Kitchen doesnt have big size bowl. The lockers are too small. The luggage room can only be opened by calling the staff, sometimes it took a while for them to respond.

extensive kitchen facilities with lot of cutlery etc enough for everyone, staff very good and cleaned up plates cutlery and pots left over after the night that people didnt clean themselves. staff very friendly and helpful, always there working even at 2am in the morning when kitchen closed. lots of toilet rolls.

lack of soap bars , i brought my own but it went walkies. breakfast should open up earlier than 8am.

Very clean, people in the room considerate young travellers, with no dodgy personalities or weirdness. I stayed only 1 night and had a good night’s sleep and a good shower. Staff at the reception were friendly.

It’s a hostel - you need to sacrifice privacy and own comfort - but as far as hostels go, this is a very good one.

The Manager Matthew, that runs the hostel beautifully.. he's warm, welcoming and professional, and makes you feel right at home upon arrival; always willing to assist with whatever you need to make your stay comfortable and stress free! Location Facilities Cleanliness Value for money Absolutely LOVE staying at this hostel when I'm in London.. the location is the best you could possibly be in to explore and experience the Real London.. the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need to make your own food and they have a daily breakfast for a small fee. There's a big dinning/working area to eat , sit chill, with lots of charging points for phones/laptops.. high ceilings and it's very spacious. There's an amazing lounge on the ground floor with a HUGE TV screen where everyone watches nightly movies and they have bar/quizz nights.. everyone is super sweet and friendly. But that really depends on YOUR own attitude! I really wanted to keep this hostel a secret all to myself, and not tell anyone how good it is staying here, with the kitchen and the park so close by and the museums etc.. but I think it deserves the great reviews it gets..because it really is that special.. and as for some of the out of the blue negative reviews some people have left, are really untrue and unjustified.. there really is just no pleasing some people and they'll never be happy.. this is a hostel, not the RITZ! What are you expecting to get for £15/25 a night!!! 😳 this place is Fabulous!! 🤩 and in all honesty it feels like a home away from home 🏡

From the moment I walked through the door at Astor Hyde Park, I felt a warmth that went far beyond the cosy historical building. The staff were genuinely friendly, not just polite—they remembered my name, checked in on how my day was going, and offered great tips for exploring London like a local. The location is unbeatable: nestled in a quiet, leafy street just steps from Hyde Park and the museums, yet still close to the tube and bus links. It’s the perfect balance between peaceful retreat and easy access to the city’s energy. Inside, the hostel has a charm all its own. The high ceilings, big windows, and period features make it feel homely rather than generic. The common areas encouraged conversation, whether over breakfast or late-night drinks, and I met some of the most interesting people during my stay. What really set it apart, though, was the atmosphere. Astor Hyde Park has that rare mix of being well-run and organised while still feeling relaxed and welcoming. It’s a place where you can come back after a busy day and instantly feel at home. I left with not just great memories of London, but of the people I met and the sense of belonging I felt here. I can’t wait to return. Thank you to the amazing team for such a positive experience!

Great location, lovely that there's an all female room available, luggage store room prior to check-in. Staff 247! It was 40 degree when I visited and a fan was provided in the room which was literally needed. Whilst I didn't use most of the other spaces because I was out all day, it was spacious with lounges, places to sit, eat, and cook...

Charges for luggage storage on day of check-out, especially for it just being a store room where it can get taken from easily as it's not on an individually locked basis - so you just have to hope for the best you don't get robbed.

Absolutely gorgeous building with very quick access to transport nearby. Beautiful entry hall and lovely staff, everything laid out well and understandable. Easy check-in process with everything you need mentioned upfront. I booked a 6-bed but was thankfully put in a 4-bed, smaller but quieter. I absolutely loved the mattress, it was so comfortable, I had absolutely amazing sleep.

Bathroom was a bit grimy, especially the shower. Unfortunately the bunkbeds are metal and squeak with every movement; this one little detail will mean I never booked this place again because I do tend to move around in bed before settling for sleep.

The Astor hostel is one of my favourite places. Everything is conveniently located nearby, including local food shops, laundry facilities, off-licenses, Tesco, and petrol stations. It's perfectly situated near Hyde Park and the opera house. The reception staff are wonderful, speaking both English and American accents, and hand sanitiser is readily available everywhere. The kitchen is very clean, and the dining area is spacious. My favorite feature is the cinema room, where I can chill with crisps and drinks, watching Netflix with fellow travelers from across the GB country, EU, and US. The bedrooms are also very clean, and I booked for a month, extending my stay multiple times. The hostel operates 24/7, with secure entry via code and card access. The architecture reminds me of a military private school – impressive! All workers at the reception provided professional service throughout my stay, from day one to my last day.

Being a dug out for eating meat by vegans and vegetarians in the kitchen and dining area. Making me feel quite uncomfortable. After cooking my food twice, I then went out to restaurants when I could eat my food without being judged. I have the impression that the vegans were staff members if I'm wrong I apologize. Reading a good book in the living room area by reception. Went to the kitchen to get my food. To find the living Room in darkness curtains drawn and a film on, after staying at this great hostel several times, this time I had the impression that the hostel was being run for the staff. Yet again if I'm wrong I apologize. After that negative rant lol. I've still had a great time and would definitely recommend the hostel to anybody.
