Perfect location for me plus I was on 5th floor so really cosy in the ‘eaves’ which helped me to wind down

They took my driving licence to copy - never had that in a hotel before and I stay in London regularly. Concerns me as to where that info is. Also I’d paid day before via Booking.com but yet was asked for payment again on check in!

Pros: good location as a base for travelling around London and outskirts train station was just next to it. We walked to Hyde Park as well. Macdonalds take away was opposite. Small Supermarket food take away can be found at the train station. Doorman was helpful with luggages. Staffs were friendly and helpful. The bed was so comfortable. We had a good sleep. Didn't hear the sound of the trains. I would stay here again for the location.

Cons: room is very small. We had the room with a slanted ceiling beam and had to be careful getting in and out of the bed. I've to bend my entire body to get pass the low beam to get out of bed to get to the toilet. We were too tired to ask to change rooms. The bed itself was very comfortable though not a large bed. room was dusty for us. I started sneezing non stop the moment we step into the room. I had to take allergy pills and wipe the layer of dust off the toilet shelves myself as we were sneezing non stop each time we return to the room. To think of unpacking and repacking and the time we need to explain and a ask for a room change, we just stuck with the room.

This hotel is in a great location-right outside of the metro stop. There are several restaurants and shops nearby as well. The staff were fantastic and for central London, the room was fairly spacious. The lift was a bit small but that's to be expected. There are a couple of stairs to enter the hotel and a couple to access the lift, so this hotel may not be the best choice for people with limited mobility. Otherwise it's a lovely hotel.

Sometimes you can hear the train noise (since you are so close to the station). I wasn't bothered by this but it may bother some travellers.

The service was great. The reception team were very welcoming, natural, helpful, and we felt valued. The room was clean, compact but well equipped with nearly everything we needed. We both particularly liked the great service we received from Claudiu. He went above and beyond. Abdul was great as well. Can't fault anyone we came in contact with in the hotel. It is very conveniently located, both to the station and transport links into London.

The breakfast was cold on the first morning. We arrived at the restaurant at least 30 minutes before the deadline. The crew in the restaurant didn't exhibit the same skills as the hotel team. Not terrible, more a lack of interest. This dampened the stay a bit, to the point of which we were almost dreading the second morning. It's London so rooms are small, we know this. But we were mildly disappointed with the lack of a comfortable chair to relax in during the brief break in our hectic schedule.

The location is excellent… it’s literally a minute from Paddington tube and rail and super bus connections at the doorstep. The staff are very warm and welcoming and they were kind enough to give me a very generous late check out. My bathroom was leaking into the reception so they changed my room to a higher category. Rooms are very decently sized for London and have comfortable beds. Good [email protected] kettle and tea things in the room. Bathroom was good sized and worked well. All in all was a great value stay in absolute central London.

Breakfast could have been much better. They give you coupons to have a set breakfast in the connected cafe but the breakfast spread could definitely be better. The lighting in the room could be improved. The standard rooms don’t come with bathrobes, slippers or toiletries like dental kits etc which for a four star hotel should be given in all room categories. No doorman to help with bags ( quite a few steps from street level) difficult with heavy luggage. Again, for a hotel of this standard I felt this should have been there.

The room was small but ok for the purposes, if there were two people it would be too small I think unless you are very close. Location was perfect and is the main reason apart from the staff that I choose this hotel. Staff are amazing, all the front desk staff could not be more helpful.

Breakfast was a bit repetitive and the eggs were tasteless so I ended up choosing to get McDonalds most of the days I was there. I remember it being much better when I visited back in 2019 I believe it was so it could be a sign of the times.

Excellent service and friendly staff. Received a free room upgrade upon arrival and drinks and snacks in the room are free of charge. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Location is perfect, only a few steps from Paddington Station. And another bonus is that you could open the window a bit for some fresh air into your room.

Doors are a bit noisy, when someone in the same hallway shuts their door you hear it loud and clear in your room. The shower could use an upgrade or a deep scrub, with mould starting to form on the shower doors.

Our recent stay at Mercure London Paddington was a delightful experience, made even better by the exceptional service provided by the staff. Zak and Claudiu, in particular, stood out with their warm and welcoming demeanor, ensuring that every need was met with genuine care. Their hospitality truly made us feel at home. The room was spotless and well-maintained, with all amenities functioning perfectly. The attention to detail in cleanliness and upkeep was impressive, making our stay comfortable and stress-free. Having stayed at several Mercure hotels, this one ranks among the best we’ve experienced. If given the chance, we would absolutely return without hesitation. Highly recommended for anyone visiting London!

Standard room is little bit cramped, but for the location it worth the price.
