Great location and fabulous, very friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious as was the evening meal. Very quiet room, didn’t hear any noise from outside or adjoining rooms. Beautiful hotel. Smelt gorgeous on arrival.

The only complaint was as we had arrived slightly early we were able to check in but the fridge with the mini bar hadn’t been refilled. We were told that would happen shortly. On leaving the hotel at 7 we still hadn’t had it replenished so asked staff on the way out if it could be done then but on coming back to the hotel at 10, still nothing. The message in the room was everything is on us, well nothing was on you as there was nothing to be had and it’s very rare you don’t have to fork out for the items in the fridge so I thought that was a bit unfair , especially what the room cost for one night

The locations is ideal, with two Underground stations and train station right there, and most all of the tourist sites within walking distance/less than one mile. The room and bathroom were spacious enough, and the windows kept out the street noise. There was a coffee bar for a quick purchase, a restaurant, and a bar on site.

The bed was firm, so as a side sleeper, I eventually woke with sore shoulders. The ceiling is thin. We could hear the person above walking around. The doors are heavy, so a lot of banging doors in the morning.

Very nice atmosphere in the house, friendly staff, great location, everything in the immediate vicinity (sights, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, local transport). We (one adult two children 17 & 13) felt very comfortable. The fold-out sofa was ok for a 13 year old.

Unfortunately, the water from the pipe is very heavily infused with chlorine, but is not at the hotel but is typical in London, but free minibar in the hotel unfortunately no water dispenser. Shower in bathtub, unfortunately the window does not close well so always water on the floor after showers. Hotel looks from the outside unfortunately not as beautiful as on many pictures, inside but impeccable

Great location, the room was good despite the king bed not being a "true" king bed (rather two twin beds together). Room was mostly quiet, occasional low rumble from the nearby train station but not enough to be disruptive at night. The hotel overall felt safe, semi-luxury, and clean. Loved how close it was to Central London landmarks.

The shower/tub setup is not logically engineered. The shower door is a half-enclosure and doesn't seal at the bottom. Water was always spilling onto the floor, despite attempts to make the glass door shield the runoff. Also, the other half that wasn't covered by the shower door was wide open so all splashes of water hit the toilet and counter and surrounding areas. I had to hide the toilet paper in other spots so it wouldn't get soaking wet after every shower.

The Hotel is really beautiful and its location is perfect to explore some of the most important places in London by just walking around. If you don't want to walk, both Charing Cross and Embankment stations are very close. Because it's in such a place, there's plenty of food in the area, you're close by the Lyceum Theatre (The Lion King show) and the area is very safe. Breakfast was also really good, the restaurant has a nice view and food was good too. All of the staff I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. The minibar is really nice to have as an option when you want a quick glass of wine or water. The room was large enough and very clean, I loved the smell of the perfume they used to clean the room. The bed was huge and very comfortable too. The view from the room, all things considered, wasn't bad.

Nothing major, but the room we were given was in another building, which is connected by the main one. So we had to go up one floor, then walk to the other building (which is connected by a skybridge) and then get the elevator to wherever you have to go. One time the elevator smelled pretty bad of fish (the restaurant is nearby). Also, there was an event that I wasn't aware of, so common areas were often full of people participating, including the restaurant/bar.

The most likeable aspect of this property is its location – very convenient and well connected.Apart from the location, everything else was average. A more family-friendly approach would definitely improve the overall experience.

As a regular guest at this property, especially for business stays, I’ve generally had a good experience. However, during a recent family visit, the service fell short. We were a family of five and were given three rooms. Despite several requests to provide at least one room that could accommodate three people, we were advised to book an additional room for the entire stay and pay in full. This lack of flexibility was disappointing, especially considering our ongoing loyalty. More consideration for family needs would have made the stay more comfortable.

The hotel is ideally located near Trafalger Square and is right beside Charing Cross station. It’s within walking distance to the West End (ideal for shows), Covent Garden, and the Houses of Parliament (to name but a few). Beautiful Victorian decor in the communal areas with a gorgeous dining room and main staircase. The rooms are spotless but more modern. Great breakfast. Very friendly staff. Lovely touches such as complimentary drinks in the bar on arrival, a complimentary mini bar in the room (limited - but still great to get!) and a welcome cake. This was our third time staying in this hotel. We absolutely love it and wouldn’t visit consider going anywhere else!

Being beside a train station there are a few homeless people around (which isn’t their fault, but still), although this is typical of most main parts of London.

The location is unbeatable, within walking distance of a wide variety of activities (museums, sightseeing, shopping, theatres...) and with a wide range of transport options on the doorstep. This was my third stay at the hotel - the first, was some years ago when it was the Amba, this was the second year running as the Clermont. I asked for the same room if possible and was very pleased to get it. The Studio room is very spacious, the bathroom well laid out, the bed very comfortable. Having a sofabed so I can put up friends for the night is a great plus and the free mini-bar is a nice extra. The great view is another bonus. Service is consistently good in all departments. The restaurant is a beautiful setting, the breakfast buffet is very good and the food in the restaurant is good too, although the menu could do with some variation - it was exactly the same as last year.

The only problem is that if you're on the Trafalgar Square/Charing Cross side of the hotel, there's quite a lot of noise from the street, particularly from buskers so loudly amplified that the double glazed windows don't block the sound. This can go on until late at night, which is quite annoying, and unfortunately the hotel can't do anything about it (ruling from the local authority). Rooms on the other side of the hotel will be quieter, but if you want the view, you have to put up with the noise.

Have stayed at this lovely hotel (Charing Cross) once before. Location is great, room (deluxe king) had a comfy large bed , nice walk in shower ,everything that I like such as kettle, fridge (with 2 water and 2 cans with clear signage that these are complimentary), tv , radio clock, very quiet room, great breakfast with a pleasant feel throughout. Staff very helpful and thoughtful to our needs such as holding our luggage from early in the day till check in and confirming room was ready during our day.

Personally, I think we made a comment at the time that the music at breakfast was just not perhaps right for the overall feel of this grand hotel . For us it should be a little more relaxed feel rather than upbeat dance / r&b.
