The most impressive aspect of the The Melville Hotel is the staff, specifically Jannis, at reception. He was delightful, friendly, and nothing could be any trouble. The room and decor were unique, perhaps basic amenities, but this matched the price. Well recommended.

The garden view was actually a strip of astroturf. I found it amusing, but possibly some would not.

Perfect location 5-6 minutes from Kingcross . Private property and big enough for family of five. You can do your own meals in the kitchen. They have everything for you. All staff very helpful and friendly . We stay in apartment . The children and me had a good time 😊

Too hot in the summer time but they have fans for you

Loved the location, the fan in the room and the fridge (it was the hottest weekend whilst we were there!) the beds were comfortable and the room was a good size for the 3 of us. Staff very friendly and we loved the quirky decor!

Bathroom very small and rusty/dusty in places. Needs a good makeover and spruce up. Some places that had not been cleaned in the bathroom too, but nothing terrible. The tea/coffee trolley wasn’t replenished properly - 10 coffee sachets and one tea bag, with no tea spoon. The windows (although grateful for the air!) were very dodgy to open with the old shutters so just perhaps need a warning with that or some safety measures to prevent the long metal bar from swinging so heavily.

What a great little place and in a perfect spot for me. Walkable for Soho for dining and a block away from The Standard for cocktails! Great cafes and pubs around the little back streets. The Sandwhich shop on Sandwhich Street is worth a visit! The two gentlemen I spoke that were on the desk were very lovely and super helpful. Allowing me to check in early as I arrived earlier than I thought. The only downside would be : The room would have benefited with a bedside lamp, and a little fridge would have been great. I didn't use the fan as it had a lot of dust on it, very easy to clean. Will definitely be back again.

It’s very close to London King’s Cross Station. It’s just a few minutes walk away. It’s perfect when you have a train to catch early in the morning the following day.

The stay could be improved with some utensils in the room like spoon and fork or even just a teaspoon for stirring your coffee. Not a deal breaker but this has no lift. If you are like me who travels with a huge luggage, just be aware. In my case, the staff members were very helpful in carrying my luggage.

It’s a 2 min walk from King Cross Station. The property is really funky. The room is on the small side but it has everything and more in it. It has tea/ coffee facilities and more are available if you ask. The staff are absolutely amazing and so helpful. The bed and pillows are really comfortable. After a long day sight seeing, this hotel is exactly what you need! We would 100% stay here again and would Recommend to anyone looking to book.

The staff are really lovely and polite and the location is great. Directly next to the tube and main train station. It was great value for money considering its central location, and for a short stay, it is perfect. These rooms really cater to individuals, sadly I was travelling In a couple. They do offer clean linens and towels each day. The rooms offer tea and coffee, a hair dryer and shower gel. They also have a room safe, though ours had run out of batteries and did not open. I also like the fact you don't need to check in. You just get an access code emailed/texted to you the morning of check in. It feels like staying at a home away from home

It's probably one of the smallest rooms I've ever stayed in, which wouldn't have been ideal if we had stayed there for any real length of time. Parts of the room needed repair. The shower head leaks and the shower door has fallen off its bracket. The bed frame is too small for the mattress and the mattress drooped off one side which had me afraid that I'd fall out of bed if I slept too close to the edge. The room is so small that the bed is pushed up against the wall and there's zero space for suitcases or to hang clothes. These rooms are best suited to individuals on short stays.

I liked how convenient the location was, how big the room was as well as how friendly the staff was!

There was an easy to spot fry on the ground in the kitchen as well as right outside our room on the day of arrival. Would have liked to be made aware that the terrace was shared directly with another room and that both rooms window wall were facing each other… that was not a great surprise, except for one man standing right outside our door on the terrace the first night (which frightened us… alongside the shouting coming from another room), this thankfully wasn’t an issue the rest of the week.

I was a little worried about our stay because of all the negative reviews. But honestly our stay was so nice! Location was amazing, price was very reasonable, our room was quite big for London and clean as well! Of course, the furniture was not the newest, but everything was sufficient, nothing was broken. Staff was nice and check in easy. We stayed with my small 9 year old niece and she loved the eclectic design! It was sufficient for family time as well. It was not noisy at all.

The stay in this hotel was amazing. The position it’s perfect for visiting the city, there’s the station of the metro right after the place. The room was clean, not so big but for two person was perfect, also for the low price. The thing we appreciate the most was the staff, we were welcomed by the guy in the reception that has been super nice with us, also really funny and made us comfortable since the second we entered the hotel. We are super happy about everything and they treated us really in the best way. can’t wait to come back!🥰
