Very close to st. Pancras Station and Kings cross. Room was big enough for 1 person and had all the facilities.

The roadwork that's been going on opposite the road. But that's not the hotels fault. The room was right next to the door that opened to the hallway that leaded to the rooms. That was quite noisy.

Although it is a smaller hotel, the staff and maintenance are excellent. It is conveniently located near King's Cross Station, providing direct access to both central London and Greater London. The bathroom was clean, though as a Dutch person standing at 1.83m, I found the shower a bit too small for comfort. I'm not sure if this applies to all rooms. However, this was not a reason for me to rate the room lower. The bed was very comfortable, making it a great place to return to after a long day of exploring and traveling in London. And since everything was so close by, no journey ever felt too long.

Very friendly & helpful staff. Excellent communication prior to arriving. Room was very clean & comfortable. Quirky, cosy & welcoming. Stored our luggage for free prior to checking in & after checking out. Delicious breakfast provided in neighbouring hotel. Staff gave my son a birthday cake, drinks & snacks to celebrate his birthday while we were there. Convenient location for King's Cross/St Pancras. Tea, coffee & toiletries provided in room. Room was very quiet despite being very close to busy King's Cross station.

Room was very hot, despite being provided with a fan.

A perfect place to stay if you are looking for somewhere cost-effective near King's Cross (especially if you need to catch an early train). The receptionists were amazing and the room was just perfect - cosy and clean. The private bathroom had an amazing shower. AC/heating positioned above the bed, so was perfect for cooling/warming up the room and was quiet too.

The view wasn't amazing, but I could still see the station which was nice. Also I could here when people open other doors in the hallway, but this wasn't a big deal. Also the AC/heating has a small power button that's difficult to see on the top of the thermostat, so press this if you want to cool/heat up the room.

Room was small but quaint - imagine student accommodation sized rooming w/ ensuite shower & toilet. Honestly we really enjoyed it - it had all the essentials whilst also being clean and comfortable, the location was definitely a plus and whilst we didn't interact with the staff much they weren't rude on arrival and that always speaks volumes. All in all on our next visit to London we'll most likely be back due to the pricing and location!

There is honestly nothing I could say that's bad about the hotel other than possibly being able to hear the Underground whilst on a ground floor room, which isn't a hotel problem it's a location problem - yes maybe sound-proofing could be better but it's never going to be perfect and it wasn't noticeable enough for either of us to care.

The location is really great, just opposite to the King's Cross station. Easy to go to the downtown or other parts of London. The room is a bit small but acceptable in that area. The facility was okay. Due to the environment protection reason, no slipper & toothbrush & toothpaste was provided. The staff really helped a lot. Breakfast was great, with five main options and three dessert/pastry options in the next-door 5-star restaurant. All in all, it is with high costeffective during the London' summer time.

It would be better if a short notice on no slipper & toothbrush & toothpaste was provided can be sent to the guest in advance.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The location is excellent—right at King's Cross/St Pancras, making it incredibly convenient for travel. Despite the central location and some ongoing construction in front of the hotel, it was surprisingly quiet at night. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, even allowing us to store our luggage after checkout, which was a nice touch. The rooms are on the smaller side, but that's to be expected in central London, and considering the price, it's a good deal. We didn't try the breakfast, so I can't comment on that.

You have asked for a critique of The California Hotel to assist with improvements. Well there is no need to critique as our stay lived up to our expectations for convenience of location, cleanliness and the staff were superb. The hotel has improved since my last visit and the improvements have been excellent. Such a great hotel in a great location if you are catching the Eurostar to Europe.

The London weather, but this has nothing to do with the hotel. There is some construction going on across the road which makes access to the hotel a little difficult if arriving or departing by car/taxi but again not the responsibility of the hotel.

Location could not be better - 5 minutes walk to St. Pancras / King's Cross station. Staff is efficient and helpful. Breakfast in the hotel 2 doors down is very good, to. This Hotel, situated in an old building, is on the "old school" side, but this adds to its charm. VERY clean room and comfy bed. Would stay there again.

As the hotel does not have a lift, you might have to climb up 4 flights of stairs with your luggage in order to reach your room. If this sounds feasible, then this hotel is indeed a lovely place to stay.

All the personnel in the hotel was super nice and helpful! They did their best to accommodate our special needs and were very pleasant and polite. The location is great, convenient to get from/to the airport and close to the tube.

Not all rooms have AC and euro type sockets and there were no spare adaptors at the reception. But maybe this can be tackled at the booking stage. Also there is no elevator, however the staff can help you with your luggage. Also street view rooms can be a bit noisy due to proximity to the train station, however windows are pretty sound proof.
